Scheduling Tweet from Wren Baker: Syracuse?
UNTexas replied to Side Show Joe's topic in Mean Green Football
Looks like someone is cleaning up after RV. -
Maybe it's a government operation?

McNabb also hates Dallas. It wasn't long ago Dallas was destitute at the QB position. The recievers were thin too. Teams needs depth. McNabb is wrong.

He will beat it.

It would be a step back for them.

Why not a State Fair game for North Texas?
UNTexas replied to TripleGrad's topic in Mean Green Football
No, but I'll take a post season game there in the Winter. Apogee is nicer for our regular season home games. -
I won't get to watch it anywhere in any way. However, I will be attending a much more heated contest on the hollowed grounds of an 8 year old girls volleyball court. Maybe the second half though...

I have a better idea, how about the band wears uniforms instead of khakis and t-shirts?

It will happen when we have an o-line that can do its job.

Poor coaching mixed with poor performances on the field with a dash of mutiny has been the recipe for UNT's last couple of seasons.

You Know Losing Is No Longer Acceptable When....
UNTexas replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
All I know some I saw players dancing and acting like asses last season while they were getting stomped. It was embarrassing to be a supporter of a team behaving like complete classless children. Mac let it continue too. And age had zero to do with it. Littrell needs to single out players behaving that way and put an end to it. These players need to act like men with class regardless of the scoreboard. They are representing the university, their families, the students, and us alumni. -
If we were playing consistently and winning in football and basketball then the DMN would report on UNT more. People like winners. They normally have to report UNT lost again... Start winning consistently and that will change.

The problem is they enjoy being elitist pricks. OU is just one university. Hopefully they aren't the sole voice. I was driving today and they were talking about several politicians in Oklahoma are fed up with this guy. Personally I think many P5 schools are afraid what they see as upstarts will start giving them annual beat downs on the field and recruiting trail. So, for now they are playing political games.

Littrell Played Against UNT for Oklahoma in 1998
UNTexas replied to rcade's topic in Mean Green Football
Dude I'm not throwing you under the bus! I never even said your name. Let me reply to your post and without internet arguing because you're an awesome guy. I didn't snap a ball over anyone's head, ever, in a game. Low, guilty as hell. Missouri was an example of that. Coach Mike actually sat me down and said I did nothing wrong. We split time until OU and then you were the starter. He said Simon wanted you plain and simple and gave no explanation. And I totally get how the whole thing happened because I've been there. Taking the delay of game wouldn't have been a big deal but who cares now. Its not a scenario you actually prepare for anyway. Anyway, people on this board have talked about that play for years and no one was even close to right. But they always said it was me. After 21 years I think its okay to tell them it wasn't me. It's mostly funny after all these years. Some of the guys on this board love telling that story while changing the facts, to make it worse of course. They also died laughing when they said my name on ESPN in the early 2000s while we were watching the UNT vs OU after already telling their version again over beers. They now tell that story about the look on my face when they showed the play and said my name on a live broadcast. (It was very funny though.) David Letterman ran it and everyone I ever knew called me thinking it was me. ESPN ran it to, same story. Hell, I remember you joking and telling me you told people it was me. I laughed to because it's funny. I was listed in the media guide after all, so it made sense. Like I said, I'm not into pushing people under busses. But I'm not rewriting history because it wasn't me like all these guys on here claim. It was just shit that happens when you play a game as a kid. The story is pure gold now, like I said, some of my friends still tell it as a joke even though they were at the game. They also post here making up facts. They also tell people I have one testicle due to a pencil accident too, but that's another story all together. And I have two but really can't prove it because they have rebuttals, just like the story about that game. I got the first beer next time I see you and we can swap war stories. Those were really fun times. I wouldn't have changed any of it. On another note, did you hear about Coach Mike? -
Once he earns it, how about "Legitimate Division 1 Quarterback"?

Mom. Meatloaf.

Good post but the fan turnout isn't something to apologize for. They showed up for the first game and were let down with a loss. It wasn't a big shock but a let down. No biggy but we all knew in advance Bethune-Cookman wasn't going to pack the stadium. That's one of the reasons why we were all annoyed by RV's scheduling.

Good on RV. A lot of people wouldn't come back.

Nothing wrong with testing the waters to see who gives you the best chance at winning.

Priceless!

I have no idea what her name is but I'm pretty sure the boogie man checks his closet and under his bed for her. She is in Doctor Evil's evil band.

Texas Tech was one the worst places I ever played. They were allowed to throw stuff at us on the sideline and cloaked it in tradition. Sure tortillas flew around but so did drinks and trash. Their security didn't care. I was covered in tequila that game. I couldn't figure out what kind of moron would smuggle in booze to just throw it. Moron. Anyway, score board... We won.
