  1. Baseball would be fun to watch. Plus, I'd want the cap. Wasn't there money donated and dedicated (like 5 million if I remember correctly) for baseball facilities? Also, with baseball added how would we be in the title 9 department?
  2. Soccer is the only consistantly successful sports team we've had in the last 3 decades. They deserve a new field because the athletic department is getting a face lift. Fouts is coming down too so track deserves a place to play. Not to mention, they both exist at UNT. Baseball doesn't.
  3. Awful to hear. Sorry for your loss.
  4. We dump Army but keep Abilene Christian? Pure stupidity in my opinion. Master plan my ass, that's just dumb. They want the team to have better optics and they preserve Abilene Christian on the schedule over Army. Great move...
  5. I guarantee if we ever play in the bowl in Frisco that the teams will practice at the Star. It's almost certain at least one of the teams official team hotel will be the Omni at the Star. UNT isn't going to stay in Frisco then shuffle between Denton and Frisco just to practice at home.
  6. They are charged with the full amount and it's enhanced because they entered into a criminal conspiracy to commit the felony. Basically, they are morons and no longer football players.
  7. They are removing seats. The construction is the south end of the field above seating. I was just at a game there. They are adding the National Hall of Fame, bars, luxury boxes, all above seating get that was only temporarily removed for construction. It's a great stadium now and will be a much nicer after construction is completed. There are some renderings on the video on the link. https://www.fcdallas.com/post/2015/10/14/fc-dallas-unveils-plans-39-million-toyota-stadium-project-including-national-soccer The FCS National Championship games have been a great environment and really fun.
  8. We'd sell out Toyota Stadium pretty easily. I went to an FC Dallas game a few weeks ago and I think I heard it will seat 30,000 something once the renovations are done. It's waaay nicer than the Cotton Bowl. I'm sure the Star would also have UNT stuff going on considering we are affiliated with the Cowboys.
  9. It would be pretty awesome if we got to play there some day. I'd enjoy it more than the HOD. It's not that I didn't enjoy both HOD games but Toyota Stadium is really nice. Not to mention I live one exit south on the DNT from there. Plus, we'd sell it out pretty easily.
  10. I'd have to agree with "None at present." sums it up. The support and physical infrastructure are improving but the performance in football and especially basketball isn't there yet. Turn some things around and complete some of the planned construction projects and start looking to better align ourselves is all UNT can do. I think that's where the AD is headed, I hope anyway.
  11. We need to just keep doing what we are doing and shoot for a better conference than either one of these conferences. The Sunbelt is not a good league. Conference USA is turning into Sunbelt 2.0 already. It wasn't that long ago that Conference USA was to merge with MWC. That obviously didn't happen. UNT is doing all the right things these days in terms of investing in athletics when many of the schools in our league aren't. I for one, for the first time ever have confidence in the university leadership, athletic department leadership, and coaches to work at moving forward towards betters things. I think most of us can agree things are different now.
  12. I'll bet his female employees always do really well and win employee of the month while his guys screw up orders when the patrons are excited for a good roll.
  13. I love this series. Especially because everyone here melts down before and after the game regardless of the outcome. It's hilarious.
  14. With a track around the field I'd assume the seating will be really far from the field. It's good for track and bad for soccer, for the people watching anyway.
  15. Not good. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18722020/unc-charlotte-49ers-qb-kevin-olsen-arrested-rape-charges
  16. When I read about Lamar I always laugh because of the name. Younger people might not know why it makes me laugh. There's only one Lamar!
  17. Lamar? Opening day? Seriously?
  18. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2683940-north-texas-qb-alec-morris-misses-snap-after-rb-jeffrey-wilson-vomits-on-field?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial I saw this happen. Hope he's feeling better. He had a great block right after this.
  19. How many of our folks are we anticipating at the game?
  20. I'd say it's more in line with the conference we thought we were joining.
  21. The most important thing for North Texas to do is start winning. Sure we are going to a bowl, with a losing record. Football needs to continue to turn it around and basketball, well, clean house. Win win win. One bowl season doesn't define a conference. AAC and MWC are percieved as better conferences than ours. Ask TCU. We need to win where we are at but if we ever had the chance to play in the AAC I wish we'd go for it. (MWC, not so much for me personally because I remember the Big West days and it wasn't very interesting for fans.)
  22. Will the talent drain catch up to UNT? Yes. Rationale, I watched the UTEP game.
  23. You won't be able to m see them.
  24. I got my introduction to Zaxby's in Brunswick, Georgia years ago. It's good. There's one in The Colony these days too.
