  1. Same ole North Texas. And we wonder why we are a pumchline.
  2. After watching us play FAU twice, do we deserve a bowl? Seriously, I remember when good teams made bowls and there weren't 40 of them.
  3. Well, turning this off and going to go find something fun to do.
  4. The funny thing is most media outlets are predicting us in the NO Bowl. Even Wren came out and scoffed at all the predictions. Tomorrow around 3 will clear all this up.
  5. I've taken my elementary age daughters to eastside in the past.
  6. If we play in NO on the 16th turnout will be very low. Viewership will be low too.
  7. If this is true have fun with 1000 fans in the stadium. I won't bother being one of them for this garbage RV type move. Great job Wren. I hope this is wrong.
  8. Hobby Lobby does. They framed my battleflag. Went during a sale. $300 and something. It's big too. They did a great job.
  9. The problem with it is we could compete against a P5 team elsewhere or play some Sunbelt team in NO. I'd even rather get an AAC team than Sunbelt. I don't think I'd travel to NO to see us play a Sunbelt team. That would be a let down after an awesome season. Just feels like a step in the wrong direction. Plus, the payout is $500k for NO compared to 1.2 million for HOD.
  10. Wren is doing his best impression of coach speak...
  11. My guess is the one in Dallas that kicked the crap out of us?
  12. How dare you use logic! I love the responses by people here on GMG about the Frisco Bowl. My favorite is we can't play there because we'd sell it out. Funny because we never sell out anywhere. Even the HOD is in a half full stadium. Apogee, never sold out. Frisco would sell out, it would be mostly our fans too. I've been there for the National Championship and it was a blast. If tickets were hard to get, GOOD. Most of the bowls on this list would be a ghost town on both sides. Especially the NM. (I've watched it on TV and it looked bad) I see zero downside to playing in a 20.5k stadium that we fill up. It's better exposure than looking like a Thursday night MAC game.
  13. I thought they said there was no reason they don't go undefeated? Even their beat writer thought so.
  14. Hopefully their team is nice and overconfident.
  15. We did. Who cares. I have a large scar on my left shoulder/tricep to remind me of beating their ass in Lubbock in 1997. Scoreboard. Bring them on.
  16. I don't think we have to worry about that scenario. KK is keeping his job after beating UT. They'll bring him back next year. Now, it would make SL a far bigger blip on the national radar.
  17. I completely agree. History says we aren't their doormat as many seem to think. They are beatable. http://www.winsipedia.com/north-texas/vs/texas-tech
  18. Only thing is, I guess their throw back helmet would be 2014 or so?
  19. KFC is now making the official tailgate tents for UTSA.
  20. Co-champions of the West is meaningless. CUSA champs has meaning. Expectations be damned because there is nothing for second place. The teams success is exactly what I was saying. And you are wrong, our expectations matter. That loser mentality is like a cancer through our school. If you think expectations/perception doesn't have an impact on that team and coaches I have some oil rich land to sell you.
  21. This is a good team that hasn't won anything yet. December 2nd will let us know how good this team is. SMU and FAU destroyed this team. How they respond to FAU is how this team should be judged. It's also pretty sad that folks have to look back 40 years to compare good seasons. As an alumni, fan, and letterman I must say I'm tired about hearing how great things were almost a half century ago. Those great years were the calm before the 1aa storm. I've always expected better things from UNT and those 70s teams aren't a glowing example of how things should be here. Sorry to offend but we need to have higher expectations.
  22. Hubris. They have delusions of grandeur. They've never won a national championship but they behave like they are a perennial powerhouse. They aren't. They are big, wealthy, and have a lots of weird alumni & fans. What I've learned from them is they have massive penis envy with all things UT. It always made me laugh that Texas OU are huge rivals and A&M was like Johnny Tyler in Tombstone.
