I live in Frisco and I am at a bar after the game. We could only dream of having a fan base like NDSU. They've been partying for days here. They're everywhere. It kind of makes me jealous. We've never had nearly the support they have. Not to mention both of these teams today would have taken us behind the woodshed.

Bobby Bowden on playing NTSU in the snow 1976

And aren't you the guy who didn't make our team as a walk on? Mom, meatloaf... -
This is a compilation of the videos they played for the team on Friday nights before games. We use to laugh at the cheesiness of it. Great to see it again. That team was pure greatness. Simon was pure cheesiness though. Although he ran a camp that would be illegal now. Twenty something guys quit during two a days. The guys who made it were tough and never quit. We wouldn't be D1 if it weren't for this team. FYI- the team hated these videos but I enjoy it now. Why is the music so bad though?

I recall little to no penetration by our D-line followed by a QB that passed to several receivers at will. They also had double our rushing yards. Our piss poor special teams performance didn't help matters. Fine thew a couple interceptions too. They beat us in every phase of the game.
-
If our team can't stop halfway decent teams from blowing us out then next year could be tough on us. SMU may be losing 2 receivers but they killed us last season.

I have a real easy answer for you, he's part of the team and everyone in the organization understands why he isn't playing. These coaches always preach to take care of each other. They are taking care of one of their own. The players don't hold it against the coaches when they leave them for a better job. This young man is making a decision for he and his family's future and everyone in the sport understands that and his school is supporting him. Either way what is the school supposed to do? Is the school supposed to tell him to pound sand? That would do really great things for recruiting...
-
I can't blame them. College football makes so much money and the players want a big pay day. The coaches have zero loyalty so you can't expect the player to risk their future while everyone around them gets rich. Most of these bowl games are meaningless anyway. Look no further than Jaylon Smith. He got lucky the Cowboys took a chance on him in the second round. It still cost him huge money.

I don't disagree with some of your points, however, we lost to a Troy that went into Baton Rouge and beat LSU. We lost to SMU for sure. SMU lost to La Tech who we beat. These days it's kinda splitting hairs at the G5 level to argue about who's the king of the little pond. Houston will typically out recruit SMU and SMU will typically out recruit North Texas. However, both schools find gems who end up being awesome and going to the league. All the aforementioned schools are looking better these days which I like for Texas football. (All of the state, not as in UT.) Maybe we beat SMU in Denton next year, maybe not. I'll have my money on us with SMU losing that stud receiver and new coach and we are returning a ton of players. Either way it will be a good game and shit tons of beer. -
If we were playing Tech in the HOD there would way more than 40k. Frisco would have sold out if we were there. We would have had good turnout in Shreveport or Fort Worth too.
-
I did the same thing. I was confused then I checked the dates. That Dodge era seems so long ago now.
-
Where has 90 been?
-
NO paid 500k, which we split with the rest of the conference. After travel and all the associated expenditures do you think UNT made out like a bandit? I don't. Personally I'd rather see us play in Frisco in front of a sold out stadium, which we've never done, then play in an empty stadium that looks embarrassing on TV. The money is irrelevant considering it's split with everyone else.
-
I asked the Cowboys store at the Star why they stopped selling UNT stuff and they said it just didn't sell. They are there for profit. It's not the store's fault.
-
Remember what it was like getting blown out by SMU? I sure do.
-
UCF and USF will never ever allow that to happen. They both look at FAU down there noses as a university and for their lack of a fan base. (Not my opinion, I don't care either way.)
-
Be better than this year. No one is really saying it but when this team faced good teams, they were blown out. SMU, FAU and Troy embarrassed us. Our defense is terrible. Our offense is sporadic. Special teams started terrible and finished strong. As far as the AD, choosing Troy in NO was a disaster. If there was a chance to play anywhere else they should have taken it. The empty stadium was really sad looking. I had several people comment to me about us having no fan base. High schools have better turnout then we did yesterday. I can't blame anyone for not bothering to going there to watch us play the Sunbelt, who also blew us out. It really makes me sad to think the best we'll ever hope for is pretty much what we have now. G5 teams essentially have no end game. UCF is undefeated and #12. We had 9 wins and got Troy in a terrible bowl. Oh well. It is what it is. At least Portland State didn't destroy us. Sorry to be a downer but its how i view it all now.

He's good. Not great. This has zero to do with him as a person.
-
It's part of it. Add graduation. Add way to early bowl too.
-
Looks like a few hundred on TV.

Very very true. It's just most won't run you over with a horse, then hand you a courtesy tune up, then leave you in the paddy wagon for hours, followed by a jail that will make you beg for Dallas County. (FYI everyone begs not to go to Dallas County.)

Yes, I know the difference between FBS and FCS. We all do. The day is coming when the pecking order will be separated by the NCAA to P5, then G5, then FCS, the D2, and so on. The current model can't sustain itself because P5 is a monopoly over FBS and the current system is failing. Teams like ours will outside of the big leagues.
-
Readers Digest version: The future of the G5 programs is being basically relegated to a second tier status similar to D1aa, FCS will be third tier.

I'd avoid being a dick to the police. If they tell you to do something, do it. Be cool to them and they'll be cool to you. I've seen some epic beat downs.
