Squeeked by South Alabama, wow. Southern, wow. Didn't get blown out by LSU but still lost by 17. Great argument. Really swell. We beat an FCS team badly, beat an AAC team that hates us very badly, beat and completely embarrassed an SEC team at home, and beat an FBS team badly in a monsoon. La Tech is good but they haven't done crap yet. For the sake of their fans, I hope if given the opportunity, we run it up on them.

Lets hope they can't get tickets.

On my ESPN app in New York City while in town for work!!! Sidenote, I was wearing a North Texas shirt at the bars yesterday and at every bar I went people talked to me about our team this year. Especially when they showed the punt return on ESPN before the UCF game. Kudos to our marketing folks and our team for kicking ass.

Elaborate for those of us that know nothing about them. Are they academically weak?

- SFA 1994, not the most exciting game. A tie actually, but the tie won the conference and we earned our way back into D1 that season. - That game was awesome. I was on the sideline and could barely watch the end I was so nervous. Still remember the party afterwards! - Tech is one of my favorites as well. Great night to win in Lubbock. That game always sticks out as one the most fun games I've ever played in. - Beating SMU so bad they fired their coach still makes me smile. - The defensive stand against Rice was absolutely amazing. - The drive against UTSA I still watch in amazement. - Beating Utah State in 1997 on an epic last play to score and win 51-48 with no time left. - Speaking of Utah State remember the towel caper of 1996? Hardly iconic but hilarious now. - Arkansas win was over the top. Still can't believe we completely dismantled them.

Yep. Liberty, La Tech, FAU, Rice, Southern Miss, UAB, and UTSA are not going to be easy. UTEP I'm not worried about.

I was on the Liberty fansite. Pretty cool fans over there. Very complimentary of UNT. Everyone, everywhere is picking us to win. This game feels like a total trap game.

When I hear people like Norm screwing up our name, I change the station. If the guys at the ticket are to dumb or that arrogant to not get the largest university in their area correct, then the aren't worth listening to. Pretty simple. These people probably wouldn't be calling Texas State Southwest Texas. That is if they actually spoke about teams they don't read about in the crappy DMN.

No one got mad because they failed, ours was a massive success that embarrassed a member of ESPN's Marquee Conference. Had Arkansas done it to us, they'd be praised for their great coaching and superior athleticism of their players versus a CUSA team.

Well, there it is. Why bother with a third of the game? Makes you think, why is Cole Hedlund perfect on the season?

First time in while a CUSA obliterated and embarrassed an SEC team at home with videos going viral.

I read their message board. I read reactions from unsportsmanlike, unsafe, unethical, and better be illegal soon. The most intelligent response was if they did it to Auburn this week then their coach is a brilliant hero. UNT has been on the other end of well publicized embarrassing plays or even worse, towel capers. All you can do is grin and bear it. The players will learn and move on. It happened. They'll laugh about it later after the pain subsides.

I hope they lose every game.

I was on UNT's punt team for 4 years and knowing punt coverage pretty well I'd say he should have been annihilated. He never got close to a fair catch signal. Not even close. They don't need a rule change, Arkansas needs a better Special Teams Coach. It must have been pretty obvious on film that they were lazy in their coverage or our coaches wouldn't have made such a risky decision. It took nerves of steel to sell it, but 11 players on that field didn't do their jobs and they were massively embarrassed for it. I'd hate to be a player in their meeting room this week.

The NMSU line might be line might be a repeat. He said when we won a nail biter in Lubbock 1997.

Good post. I've heard nothing but good things about Arkansas' fans. Regardless of the state of Arkansas' team UNT fans are going crazy after this win because its not everyday we win against a big program like Arkansas. As a UNT fan I was terrified something would go wrong and we'd blow our lead. As for that punt return it could have terribly wrong but fortunately for us it didn't. I kind of view it as we played that game where UNT was going to leave it all on the field. Arkansas has a ton of talent and our coaches really prepared the team well. They obviously saw something on the films that let them know there was a chance to exploit the coverage and the punt returner sold it perfectly. They very well could have taken his head off and the tied the score at 7. It was a gamble that payed off for us and I know it probably angered a lot of Arkansas players and fans. UNT has been through really really tough times and we've got a special team playing this season. Arkansas is going to bounce back and y'all will surely be much better soon. I personally love to see us play big teams like y'all. Hopefully you'll follow us some more this season. Its always good to discuss football with other fans.

This one is definitely up there for me too. Texas Tech in 97 near and dear to me becaiouse I was on the field and I'll never forget the bus ride home. (We smiled and joked the entire bus ride home. Even with injuries and beat up.) However, this team is special. They aren't just winning. They have been dominant through these first three games. The team and university are different now. I've never been so damned proud of UNT.

Subtract the 7 for the punt return and we still dominated them in every way possible. We were playing backups against a supposed powerhouse. Good times. Also, I wish they would've hit our punt returner. Eject the player and add another 15 yards to further us running it up on a team that paid us big to embarrass them at home. It makes me smile thinking of their entitled fans posting Friday about the nobody school we are. Scoreboard... Really enjoyed it.
