Thats called coaching...
-
The stadium will be empty again
-
We havent played football in the last 4 quarters.
-
We are trying hard to ensure we keep our coaches.
-
The reset slogan is sounding swell right now. We arent all we thought we were.
-
We look like shit
-
We need them to win!!!
-
Live prostitutes are call girls. Dead ones are hookers. Craig James knows this.

La Tech schedule is far from easy. They'll drop some. If we win out, what needs to happen for us to win the west? Obviously overall CUSA wins are a biggy so beating FAU is a big deal. What else?

Beat that sh$t. Screw cancer.

DRC Friday Q&A with Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
So you think 11-1 and second place wouldn't be crappy? It would be a sh$t sandwich sitting at 11-1 and in second for dropping a game they should have one. If you think that's odd, wow. Reset? There is no reset. 11-1, the conference season is over, then a bowl. Next year the coaches will have a new catch phrase like reset. Or reboot. Or burn the boats, and the list goes on. I'm glad the fans are using this years catch phrase though. Its not negative either, its just the yearly phrases recirculate and have always been around at every school. If we fail to win the west then 2017 was a better season and it still wasn't as good as 2004 when we actually won a conference championship. Purely on the field speaking. There's no second place ring. I have Conference Championship ring from North Texas. We didn't get it by believing other teams would lose. We just beat them ourselves. From a non field aspect, this season the support the team is getting is great. Much better than last year. Best I've ever seen. -
DRC: Canales, former players looking forward to facing off
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm looking forward to seeing UTEP destroyed. Coach will understand. -
Sorry to hear. If this helps humanity, we found a new iphone and we were luckily able to get it back to its owner. A college kid can't afford to lose a thousand dollar phone. Sidebar: I really really wanted one of the throwback long sleeved Nike shirts. It only said Eagles in green. I know what it is and who we are, however, as an avid hater of the Philadelphia Eagles, I couldn't do it. I wish it said NTSU also.

DRC Friday Q&A with Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
If anything it woke them up. Our guys just didn't want it as bad as La Tech. My opinion anyway. (Hell, they blocked a field as a giant middle finger to our packed stadium.) Sadly, it happened against the team that will likely win the west now. They'll need to drop probably 2 and we have to win out. I think we will win out and they might drop one. It will be a real sh$t sandwich for us considering our team lost that game all on their own. Pretty sad that 2017 will likely end up as a more fruitful year because we at least competed for the CUSA Championship. Just sucks. -
Our special teams was awful, Fine was sacked 5 times and hurried way more than that, 55 yards in penalties at really bad times, and two turnovers compared to their zero. Outside of that stuff we looked great!!! We did well to keep it within reach.

DRC Friday Q&A with Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Did I say you? Every single ex-player and coach I sat with would be the we. Same with the people I tailgated with. As in plural. There was a lot of hubris on that field. First case in point, an attempted fair catch on the five yard line just before the half. Let it go and get it on the 20. Go in at the half leading. Naw, I got this. Or how about late hits just to let the other guy know you are the big man? Or being out prepared? 55 yards in penalties, mostly at really bad times, compared to their 10? How about letting your QB get sacked badly 5 five times? Do you think for a second our coaches weren't pissed off at the mental preparedness of these players who have been living on cloud 9 since beating an SEC team? Bottom line is La Tech was poised and made plays when it really counted because they were prepared. We weren't. They thought after the fiirst quarter it was over because they jumped up and took their foot off the gas. When they watch the CUSA Championship on TV they'll know all that crap on ESPN or the radio was static. In films Coach Bill Michael used to say stuff like this after games like this: Ya'll ran out there acting like the big dog and spent the rest of the game lookin like a mule lookin at a new gate. He'd say pretty much the same after watching that game... -

I thorought the same last week but we saw a team that believed the hype. -
Can't wait to see what the conference championship sales look like. I hear Ruston is nice that time of year. (Come on, ya'll can see the comedy in that!!!??? With our luck we will probably be 11-1 then and it's gonna suck for us. At least we won the West last year and we only have to play FAU once this year.)
-
It's gonna suck if we finish the season with one loss and don't win the west.
-
I was one too! The Sunbowl use to be so much better. I grew up going to games. Im not sure we missed many in the 80s and early 90s. I went back to watch us play and couldn't believe how bad the atmosphere was. A lot of people were just vile to us.
-
Same experience. I wouldn't take my kids there in green. They really do have a classless hateful fanbase. Viscous is the best description.
-
You don't want to do Cattlemen's on game day. Friday night or Sunday. I always have to sleep afterwards. Go 50 yard line on the pressbox side. Real UTEP fans and alumni sit there. Non-UTEP alumni towny fans sit on the other side and are moronic, annoying, belligerent savages to each other but especially opposing fans. I'm from there, grew up as a season ticket holder and thought I would be fighting last time because i was in green. It really is ridiculous behavior out of these folks.

DRC: Five things UNT fans should know about UTEP
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed. They needed to clean house after that season. -
And I have to add these guys because they can fight and lift. The weight lifters are pure greatness.

I was reading the UTEP board and since I'd never bother posting there as it reminds me of UTSA type fans calling us a directional school and how we suck historically. Texas Western must have started skipping history once they became UTEP and began 100 percent acceptance into their university. I love bringing up the 100 percent as a lot of my family went to UTEP. They, like most UTEP folks are normal level headed people, unlike some on their board. So anyway, I thought I'd share some UNT vs UTEP history here with my own folks.
