  1. I guess you can look this up and cheat, but Seth Littrell has a shot to start his North Texas coaching career with a winning record by winning the last two games of the season (UTEP & Bowl Game). Who was the last North Texas (football) head coach to do so? First one to answer gets absolutely nothing.
  2. It had decent TV numbers, but the Bahamas bowl had 13k attendance last year... They can start with novelty bowl games like that.
  3. I am hoping for/anticipating the New Mexico Bowl against either New Mexico or Colorado State. Obviously, more than likely would be New Mexico out of those two. That's a tough team this year. I'm all for it, if so. I'll make a trip out of it and hit Sante Fe/Taos and see some of the family while I'm over there. Either way, things are looking good! Just hoping it is not Hawaii or Bahamas. Fun for the players, but both will likely be out of our budget for holiday travel.
  4. I like this partnership. They are brand new to college football so I have a feeling they are using this to show they can handle it. Could pick up some bigger partnerships in the future with TV restructuring becoming a common occurrence in college football.
  5. Yeah, with Fine and Wilson out I don't see it happening anymore. Fine didn't do anything spectacular this year, but he helped keep our defense off the field by not turning it over for the most part... Something Morris hasn't shown he can do. Yet.
  6. They still can't figure out how to turn the espn theme song off. This is embarrassing.
  7. This broadcast is amateur hour. Had audio issues since the pregame and didn't have audio at all that entire drive basically. This is after Capper tweeted bragging about how much time and money we spent getting ready for ESPN3...
  8. No doubt in my mind that he will be a coach one day.
  9. Today is obviously important. I really think we are in one of those down years of CUSA like in 2013, and could capitalize to go bowling. I think LaTech beating WKU and UTSA beating SoMiss prove the discrepancy in talent isn't large this season. I think MTSU is the best in the conference and we hung with them for a good long time..
  10. If we just beat the teams with losing records, we are bowl eligible. Not sure how good Marshall is due to their weird schedule to start the season, but if we win that game I'll change my prediction from 3 more wins to 4. Optimistically, obviously. The curve is probably set at 2-3 wins.
  11. He may have waited a little longer. However, it gave him a great excuse to do it sooner and without any question that it was the right move.
  12. These guys have families, it's called being respectful and giving them time to find new positions. Some of them put in good work for us, even though the athletic department as a whole has been a failure under RV. Trust me, everyone from RV's staff knows their time is probably coming. Just to clarify though, we are complaining about spending too much money on athletics?
  13. Everyone was saying the same thing after Enron. Usually, it's because the good people don't speak up.
  14. An accounting audit may be in order, if one hasn't already started. That's one thing we should have learned from the last accounting debacle on campus,
  15. I guess I should have filled one of these outs and am therefore part of the problem, but really? Everyone who filled this out think the CSC security staff is "friendly" and was "satisfied" with the ticket lines at the SMU game? Makes me think everyone just sped through this and just clicked the middle option, which is "satisfied."
  16. Man. Here I was thinking everything was going great.
  17. I realize we are just being realistic, but it's kinda sad two analyst project we will win half of the rest of our games (really not that crazy when you think about it from the outside perspective), and we say they are wrong. Shows how jaded we've become. Telling you guys, QB play and coaching was a HUGE part of our 1-11 season last year.
  18. I told someone that 2013 was just bound to happen. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. Odds said we were due 1 winning season in 10 years. This feels more like a set-up for multiple winning seasons, rather than all the right circumstances coming together like they did in 2013. Don't get me wrong, 2013 was still awesome. Just different feel like you said.
  19. You would miss it. Typical Quoner, everything's a joke.
  20. Unfortunately, it's the usual culprits and I have to suspect it isn't analogous to what you're talking about when I've seen the nickname "chief" suggested on here before. Plus, you're speaking of team names, not individuals. Like I said, try to same with any other race or culture and see how it sounds.
  21. I found this article too but didn't post it because I didn't understand where he got that out of Littrell's comments.
  22. Yeah but if you aren't giving up a home game anyways, isn't it better to have neutral site than going to Arkansas for an away game? I guess maybe every other year it would only take away an away game and then the next year it's taking a home game... but still.
  23. Yeah, I'd be more interested to see what the average SAT is than our enrollment numbers. You definitely don't want bad representatives out there attempting to get into the workforce. What concerns me is this is during a time when college enrollment is on its way down post-recession, yet colleges continue to accept more and more students, lowering admission standards. Some schools have finally figured out the way to get ranked in national publications and build prestige for your university is actually by limiting your enrollment to ensure higher SAT and GPA averages among your students.
