  1. I honestly haven't heard very much SL bashing on here, but continue on your high horse.
  2. Yes defense is concerning but let's not forget UAB has put up points all season. That's not a stale offense. They have talent and are not a super young team, attracting some good JuCO talent to start their return campaign.
  3. Jeff Wilson is certainly right up there in rushing yards as well. Despite some unexpected deficiencies in our secondary this year with the long ball, our offense has made a complete 180 so far.
  4. I don't normally start many post-game reaction threads, but I just want to say how impressed I was with Mason Fine tonight. He showed incredible poise for a true Sophomore and once again made plays with his feet and what appears to be a much stronger arm this year. Some of his throws were the best I've seen out of a UNT QB in a long time. Also, he currently sits at 27th in NCAA for passing yards, leading C-USA. Again, as a Sophomore. Hats off to the kid.
  5. Coaching staff content with the moral victory not going for it there. Not very much field position difference either because of our punter.
  6. Fantastic drive by Shanbour. Hope Fine is OK but we may be in good hands either way.
  7. Hope Fine is OK. That looked like it hurt.
  8. Looking back I just think SMU was the better team and a pretty good team at that. Don't know how much strategy would have helped, especially with their edge of having a 1st-round talent in Sutton. I think SMU took a step up this year and that team is much older and more experienced than we are. Some very good play early that makes me optimistic.
  9. That's not totally fair, there's a couple cool bars off SMU boulevard like Milo's. They are also a stone's throw away from lower Greenville.
  10. It's a way of saying "feed me" the ball, popularized by Zeke Elliott.
  11. Dude, you're complicating this whole tailgate thing just a bit. Just show up and go to the first person who offers you a beer.
  12. Unfortunately, we never offered. SMU hired one of his high school coaches and he committed early on because of him. His dad went to North Texas for a stint and was even acquaintances with Craig Miller and George Dunham, but no offer by McCarney back then for him to even consider. Oh well.
  13. I believe one was a starter but only because *name drop* my cousin was out with an ACL injury. May be leaving because he was about to lose his job, but I have no inside info. Just know my cousin is starting again at left tackle.
  14. Goes to show perceptions improve after even just going to a bowl game.
  15. 2 of the 4 preseason All-CUSA defensive backs. Our pass defense should be pretty stout next season. When was the last time we had two All-conference anything in preseason at least?
  16. It shouldn't be back, until players can profit off their likeness. Just like anyone else.
  17. I hope you're not in marketing.
  18. Whether you agree or disagree, the government shouldn't have the power to decide what type of speech is prohibited. Right to free speech includes right to offensive speech. I remember when feeedom of speech was a liberal philosophy, some on the left are still fighting for it.
  19. Yes communism was defeated. Luckily today the defeated Russians no long engage us in proxy wars (except that small one in Syria) and we have no problems left with any communist states (except that small one in the Korean Peninsula). I guess communist Vietnam and Cuba, among many others, also didn't get the memo that we won.
  20. Oh lord, you know SL and co. are in trouble when these thread start popping up.
  21. Jorden Duffy, JuCo transfer.
  22. Word is Riley still wants to call plays. If that's the case, no way they spend SL money on an offensive coordinator. We shall see.
  23. He was an offensive assistance or some title like that, officially. Yes he called plays there. But he also made around 250k and as good as North Carolina was they aren't anything like OU to him. He could get a raise and looking at current situation they like to hire current offensive coordinators to be future head coaches. Him and Riley go back and run the same offensive scheme as "Leach guys." This is all speculative at this point, but if Riley wants him it seems very plausible.
  24. Lincoln Riley was making 1.3 million as the offensive coordinator this year. They might even bump that and Seth could get at least a 500k raise if he took the position. Would be hard to turn down an opportunity to return to your alma mater in any capacity considering the pay, even if you do want to be a head coach.
