  1. Yeah - you guys will need a bigger stadium when you get it rolling again!
  2. You're right. But at 17K with 1 winning season in 20 years - it was still greater than our 13K ( now 14K ) enrollment. Since enrollment is proportional to alumni base, stAte hangs in there on attendance competing with much bigger schools.
  3. 2012 Attendance 1. Arkansas State...26,398 2. Louisiana...22,865 3. TROY...20,952 4. ULM...19,359* 5. North Texas...18,927 6. MTSU...17,738 7. WKU...17,414 8. USA...16,793 9. FIU...13,634 10. FAU...13,459 http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=604296&pid=8724768#pid8724768 I think 2011 stAte was 2nd and Louisiana was first.
  4. Word is that the AD disagreed with Malzahn on how things should be done to "take this thing to the next level", and Gus went over his head to big boosters and/or system president and/or the governor(huge stAte fan) and Lee was reassigned. I'm sure Arkstfan will correct this if necessary.
  5. That doesn't mean that the CUSA would be worth a crap or that it would be the smart thing to join. Enjoy your games buried on some cbs college network - nobody else will becasue they won't be able to find them.
  6. Sun Belt football will improve when UNT leaves . . and it is already better than CUSA football. Thanks for not contributing to our success.
  7. What did you say about stAte? We're stuck in the Sun Belt? We just owned you for the 8th time in a row. Harry is cool. The other guy is a clown. NT has 3x the resources of stAte - and you have lost 8 times in a row to little ole stAte . . . don't belittle the Sun Belt, it makes you look pathetic.
  8. It is hard to nail it down exactly because of the incentives - but Malzahn will likely make between 800K and 850K. State law limits salary at 156K from athletic department funds, so the rest must be from donors(not necessarily alums). Patterson will make around 200K, per the Jonesboro Sun. I think I read 90K of that will come from donors. What has happened here is similar to what happened when Dickey Nutt was the highest paid guy in the conference for a bit. Money seems to come from other parts of the state when certain people are the coach. We were only going to be able to offer Freeze 450K to 550K to stay. So basically 300K or so evidently came from "new" sources in Little Rock and/or Northwest Arkansas, as I understand it. Malzahn is beloved guy in this state from his days as a high school coach through offensive coordinator at Arkansas.
  9. The focus of discussion should be on fouls, not free throw attempts. But I understand your frustration.
  10. I listed specifics, while you used generalizations. Did you watch the game?
  11. There was a stretch in the last 10 minutes of the first half where stAte was called for offensive fouls that didn't seem right. One time your guy pushes Griswold through another UNT guy and it was a foul on stAte. And there was that foul on Townsel while he was dribbling - don't see that one much. Just saying that stAte has some complaints about the officiating too.
  12. Did you watch the game? Should have been one more called that wasn't. Mr. Mitchell needs to hone his craft a little. Good game though - you guys are athletic as hell!
  13. I really wanted Canales to be stAte's coach. We just couldn't pass up Malzahn.
  14. Isaiah Thomas? Really? We hired a guy that can energize Arkansans. Sell tickets. And run Hugh Freeze's offense. Please understand stAte's plight. Statewide media ignores us. Not tonight. The former golden child of the Razorbacks ( and Hugh Freeze's mentor ), got us the lead story on 2 Little Rock newscasts at 10. Not sportscasts - newscasts. I know it seems like it isn't a big deal - but hell we struggle to get scores mentioned in Little Rock TV - not to mention highlights. This hire is a BIG deal in Arkansas. And a 14K enrollment school stepped up and paid the biggest SBC football contract EVER. How about some props for advancing our league.
  15. No worries. All you need to know about Arkansas State University is that our enrollment/alumni base is slightly over 1/3 that of North Texas, and that we've beaten you in football 7 years in a row.
