  1. I find it quite strange some of you people are so sure we'll get "killed" by Indiana. They haven't shown consistency and neither have we. You just simply can't be so sure of any predicition and I expect our players to show up and play hard. Let's hold off on any overly negative or positive feelings about this game and just expect our players to play well, despite the outcome of the game.
  2. UNT 14 SMU 6 With a defensive TD by the Mean Green and just one TD from our offense. Hope I'm wrong and we score a lot more and shut them (SMU) out.
  3. Our team is too disciplined to allow a blowout. So those of you predicting UT scoring 40+ points and UNT only in the teens or less are very wrong. The mismatch in talent is big enough for a comfortable UT win but not a blowout with the way our guys will play. We will scare this team and their fans: UT 31 UNT 21 I hope I'm proven wrong and wonderfuly surprised with a victory over Texsa.
  4. The helmet would look fine with the black uniforms I suppose if they don't change this year...but the green I think is different from our traditional uniforms and it would look a bit out of place, so I hope they do have new uniforms this year.
  5. What?!? NO WAY! Is the AD finally exceeding expectations!? Man...that is one NICE LOOKING helmet. However, I will fully reserve my exciting until we see the matching uniforms. They better be equally stunning.
  6. Honestly, too tough to predict. So I say we go undefeated and just miss out on the NC game because another undefeated G5 team pass us by and gets in the playoffs instead.
  7. Fair except for the part that already assumes we will lose against UT.
  8. I haven't been to UTSA either, but I know their campus is inferior regarding athletic facilities. Regarding our overall campus, the woman from the article also mentions the campus having no centralized location and central-collegiate feel...that is absolutely incorrect. The heart of UNT's campus is vibrant and has a good central-colleagiate feel...she clearly has never been on campus. She also mentions the dorms are hated. Dorms are very diverse like in most campuses...not sure how they can collectively be hated--did she just run out of reasons and came up with that? She also lists the University of Cincinnati, which made Forbe's list of the world's most beautiful campuses. While these measures of "ugly" and "beauty" are all biased, an article like this would gain more credibility if the author would have done more research about the actual campuses listed.
  9. I can also tell that beyond having an inferior campus, many of you have inferior logic. We have "no room" to criticize other campuses because of a grossly biased and badly researched article? Written by some lady who hasn't even been to a quarter of the campuses she lists??? Haha...if you're going to bring something up against us, don't back it up with laughable 'evidence'
  10. Yup, sarcasm for some is kinda funny. Didn't use "sensitive" for a reason.
  11. Hey man, don't go there with him because the guy will call you out on your "sensitivity." But you're correct, it is invalid to say "UNT" uses curves heavily as an institution. Maybe his program did but that is one program out of several. Also, all schools' programs for the most part have different grading schemes within the same institution, so when someone says "so and so institution is harder or better" ...I always laugh and ask "which program are you talking about?" And also important to mention that all football programs put their athletes in a comfortable positions with lots of resources to succeed in the classroom if they choose to. It's a very good accomplishment and says a lot about the UNT football program and its high quality. This should be emphasized greatly for recruiting purposes.
  12. Looks like someone else is the sensible person here...all I did is ask very pertinent questions. If that makes you feel insecure, then so be it. And haha...I am glad you're not "going to create fantasies about how things were" while you attended the school. That would be kind of strange. You just clearly don't understand what generalizing does to an institution, so I'd just try to prevent that if I were you. You can say the UNT tax program or perhaps business school focuses to some degree on curves but you don't know about the rest of the programs. My point is that it works the same way at every other school and hence it's very dangerous to generalize based on a school's brand name.
  13. When did you attend UNT and what program? Why are you generalizing UNT based on one program? It is not true that all professor and programs at UNT heavily rely on curve distribution of grades. Even within the same program, it heavily depends on the professor. Some programs don't have standardized grading expectations. Only a few out of all my courses at UNT (being there for 5 years) relied on curve distributions.
  14. This is a joke...just because a school has a better perception/image in the public's eye does not mean each and every one of their student athletes are in more "rigorous" classrooms or degree programs. Courses and programs vary in rigor within a university and certainly between universities. Some programs at UNT are more rigorous than some in top-tier academic institutions and grading is much dependent on the professor's style. Fact is, all student athletes are given the opportunity to succeed in the classroom in every D1 program...so you can't really make those assumptions based on a school's brand. I say this is a tremendous accomplishment by the UNT Football program! Keep it up!
  15. I remember reading a few optimistic posts the last few days, especially last night after we beat Rice. I am also positive Andrew believed we would all along.
  16. We've sucked the entire season. Funny people thought this team under Benford was going to have a run during the tournament.
  17. Do you really expect a Benford-led team to win any game? Since that loss against Alabama-Huntsville or whatever they're called, I knew I couldn't expect anything from a team led by this guy.
  18. Wow...some people on here crack me up. Those "realists" clearly have been too influenced by UT's "dominance" ...but could that be past dominance? UT for the past few years has been a very beatable team and I don't think they'll all of the sudden become a national powerhouse like FSU in less than a year. It will take time if Strong gets to that point at all. We have a realistic shot at beating them, and yes, we might very well end up losing but there is absolutely no "certainty" they'll beat us by 3+ TD's.
  19. What about environmental ethics! Top in the world!
  20. No one is stopping you. Go ahead.
  21. There are some other things that surprise me where we are as well though, although they may not be requirements for tier one status, we should still be improved on those things. Regarding endowment, I dont' hope Smatresk pushes the endowment higher quickly, I fully expect him to.
  22. When did they reach Tier One status officially? I never saw anything on this. Honestly, I am a little disappointed with our progress so far. Our endowment is ridiculously low to where we need to be along with some other things. I really hope our new president makes some big strides to achieve this "status" and continue raising funds beyond that. I'm just tired of UNT always being the underdog when we have so much potential.
  23. I don't see TTU and Houston here...have they achieved Tier 1 status...I don't think so?
  24. RV is going to start running out of excuses to keep Benford. It's evident the guy is not a good HC.
