  1. Of course it is my opinion and true to me. I'm not saying it has to be true for anybody else. BUT, Football is more popular than baseball, that's a fact. Anyway, I know UNT football isn't anything compared to World Series, but UNT students should all still go to their homecoming game, but I know some won't go to the series game but will watch it on TV instead. That bothers me and being a die-hard fan, it pisses me off there aren't all that many fans like me at UNT. Just my feelings, that's all.
  2. Football way better than baseball...sorry, but true. Plus, it's a SERIES,missing one game won't kill any baseball fans. This pisses me off that it will hurt attendance.
  3. I don't know. We're not much better performance wise. Let's beat ULL and then definitely prove this team can win two straight games in a season.
  4. Coach Mac, I know nothing is a gimme for this team, but we are 92 on CBS120, who woulda thought that huh? 92 out of 120, isnt something to brag about.
  5. I don't think it's about "campus beauty." And our campus is fine in that regard, lost of good things going for it. But it's about the money, without a doubt, popularity comes after.
  6. Rudy's in Allen, never been there actually. Do you have to reserve before going?
  7. yea it's starting to look like it won't be possible for me to go either. also hope there is a watch party...there should be one.
  8. lol, of course he wouldn't...he doesn't even have time to be going on gmg.com because he is too busy coaching and building a program...the original post cracked me up! lol
  9. I was just wondering if there was some sort of organized carpooling or trip being made to Lafayette? I can't make the trip on my own due to money constraints and my car isn't in road trip condition. Therefore, I wasn't planning on making this trip, but I'm getting more and more excited about the game because I know it'll be a great atmosphere at Lafayette.
  10. The Big East will invite SMU, not UNT. We should focus on CUSA and MWC. We shoudl then start winning out one of those conferences and then hopefully down road receive some interest from an AQ conference.
  11. I would but money right now is a big factor. Some time constraints as well and not sure who I'd go with. But traveling costs being the biggest factor :/
  12. No kidding. Fair weather fans all over Denton.
  13. I can't think of a school that doesn't boo the opposing team when they enter. Not saying it's nice, but it happens all the time.
  14. That ranking also has ULL in front of Florida, Texas Tech, A&M and others alike. Also has Houston in front of Wisconsin. This ranking only accounts for wins/losses and to a less extent, win margin. All the other factors that matter, aren't accounted for. That's why this CBS ranking is FAR from accurate.
  15. Haha, they also have Houston in front of Wisconsin...lol. This particular CBS Sports ranking is on crack.
  16. Yeah...ULL just behind VTech and South Florida and ahead of plenty of way better teams...uhmm, pretty questionable. However, glad to see a sunbelt team getting good recognition and glad to see we're doing better. We need to continue proving we're better than our record and beat ULL this weekend!
  17. Is Zachary Orr too undersized? Because he is a heck of a player.
  18. It's currently true because of which conference we play in and our losing records. Does this mean we DON'T have the potential to be relevant in the area??? Of course not. Come on, we're the biggest university in the area. I don't see how we couldn't be seriously looked at by one of these conferences.
  19. Well, I'll have to disagree with emperor Vito then. Conferences also look at potential and as the leading and biggest university in the DFW, UNT HAS the potential to be pretty relevant in the Dallas area. It's a matter of getting into a better conference to bring in better-known teams and start recruiting better to compete against better teams. Also, you need to consider how desperate some of these conferences could get with all this realignment and it's not crazy to think UNT wouldn't be looked at closely with all the potential is has.
  20. Great example of why it is so important to attend games. I was SO disappointed with attendance. There really is NO excuse. I don't care how much we've lost in the past, we have over 36k enrolled students and couldn't even get HALF the attendance that TCU got in Ft. Worth, which has about 7k students. Local citizens, UNT STUDENTS, and Alumni all need to realize that showing up really helps these players. They work hard and WANT to win and if more fans show up, that motivates them to work harder. Please PACK the stadium on homecoming and show more allegiance to your OWN university. Let's talk to students who have negative perceptions about UNT athletics and convince them of the importance of supporting UNT's teams. Thanks.
  21. Aside from having losing seasons lately, which will clearly start to change, I don't see how UNT can't be a serious candidate for the CUSA or MWC. Seems like one of these two conferences will end up needing to invite a Texas team, and our university should be attractive enough for serious consideration. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
  22. Not sure I follow when you say that if we beat ULL, we only need to beat either ASU, Troy or ULM to go bowling. We have two wins, and if we beat ULL, that makes it three. That means we have to beat at least three other SB teams in order to be bowl eligible. Or are you assuming we'll beat WKU and MTSU at home?
  23. I agree. Most of my friends bailed out on me due to the Ranger's game. There was no way I wasn't going to go the UNT game, but was really disappointing to see the lack of current students (I'm an alumni) in the stadium. New students have a very bad image of NT football in general and that draws a huge lack of care. Win, win, win, move to a better conference, generate more revenue, and include the city's support...and you'll see a beautiful stadium packed every weekend until it needs to be expanded. And, it will happen if we keep coach Mac and his supporting staff and just do OUR part in convincing other people to become die-hard Mean Green fans. I'm doing my best and I know we'll have a nice attendance number during our homecoming game. Let us win that game and it'll be another step in the right direction.
