  1. UTSA by a little. They have an advantage right now, let's get real. San Antonio is a city that has been craving for a football team and now they have one. They have the entire city backing them. We have....Denton...oh wait, not even Denton supports the Mean Green as it should.
  2. You got to be kidding. The alumni section had full sections and there were scattered people all over the stadium. At the beginning, I can see how attendance got to 17k. perhaps you got there a little late or something, since people started leaving in the second quarter. But can definitely see the number being accurate. 17k is almost HALF of our stadium's capacity...I definitely saw a little more than half of it being filled at one point.
  3. Win more games, get more people in the stadium, expand the stadium to at least 50k, and get the freaking city of Denton more involved (what a crappy city in regards to supporting local college athletics).
  4. There are too many variables to count UNT out if we finish 6-6. If FIU would for some reason lose it's next games and finish 6-6, then I don't see them getting a bid over us. Also, I don't see the Belt having no chance at getting 4 bids this year. It's certainly one of the strongest years for the belt overall, so 4 isn't completely unrealistic. Just have to make sure we win and wait and see.
  5. Haha. What a savage sense of superiority. I could honestly care less whether we play against them or not. If we do, I might have some fun going to Dallas and putting some of their d bag fans in check. Or they could visit Apogee and cry about us having a better and nicer stadium than theirs.
  6. I like the idea of re-establishing the "North"..."Texas" chant divided by the student and alumni section. It would sound amazing at Apogee!!!
  7. I'm sorry, but there is no "right way" on how to celebrate a win, unless it involves prohibiting violence and looting. Other than that, fans can do whatever they want to celebrate a win.
  8. Rushing the field more often isn't conforming to Clemson. It's just an example that if you rush the field, you aren't doing so because you are a weak and pathetic team, but because your fan base has fun winning and want to congratulate their players face-to-face. It's what you make of it and I'm with coach Mac on this: if the fans want to, I welcome it.
  9. These high school comparisons are nonsense, honestly. Rushing the field can be what you want it to be. You don't have to conform as a school to the conventional traditions. It has already also been mentioned that some other big schools, like Clemson, rush the field pretty much all the time. I guess they are also a high school-like program. It's ridiculous how people can complain about overly-excited fans. We are either too apathetic or too naive and overly-excited...hah. We are underdogs for pretty much every game we play, so a win is an upset for us. If the coach welcomes rushing the field, I think he has a better perspective of what's good to help build the program than all of you complaining about this. I just don't get it.
  10. Yeah it sucks so many greeks don't enter the stadium, but before you keep complaining, think about it. The greek clubs are still brining in people to the "game day" experience. Some of these people do enter the stadium and those are people that wouldn't be in the stadium if the greeks didn't hold their tailgating parties. If we start winning and playing better teams, more of them will want to go to the game, but don't just blame greeks for low attendance. They actually help attendance, even though a lot of them don't go to the game.
  11. When I entered the stadium, they weren't scanning tickets. I think we had about 20k or darn close (19k+), I'm pretty sure that attendance number is off because of the scanning issue.
  12. Sad but true. We probably could have had 2k more people in the stadium if those ppl gave the game a chance.
  13. Your point? Still means DD>>>>TD. He's not doing bad at TSU either.
  14. DD>>>TD.
  15. Great job! Trying to do the same!
  16. I wish Houston the best, but the Big East isn't exactly all that "prestigious" in football. It's still a great opportunity for Houston and a huge move since it's an AQ conference, but don't know how "prestigious" it really is. Now, I'm hoping things go well and we get a much-anticipated invitation from CUSA. HOPE for the best! GMG!
  17. Yeah, there really should be an "I don't really care either way" option. My unwavering commitment to attend every game and bring new people to the games (we're bringing around 50 ppl for homecoming)won't change, regardless of what is happening around the area.
  18. Yeah, I can now see the sarcasm. Took me a while since I'm so involved in this topic. And yeah, lots of NT "fans" have a tradition of complaining. Yet, we struggle in attendance and don't have a reputation of being supportive as fans. It stinks but only the pro-active folks will be able to help change things around.
  19. I have a feeling we'll be getting an invitation from CUSA for all sports. SMU and Houston will be invited to the Big East for all sports, it was Boise st and Airforce/Navy I believe were only going to be invited for football. North! Texas! North! Texas! knocking on the door! Let's make sure they hear us! North!!! Texas!!!
  20. It's a sensitive topic when I've devoted so much time into bringing more people to the game. I didn't see the obvious humor in the post, but I sure hope it was intended that way.
  21. Sense of entitlement much? Perfect example of the type of fans we don't need and been having for too long. Shame on you. RV would never waste his time on someone like you. I believe he has way more important things to worry about than some self-entitled "fan."
  22. Thanks man. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season. Hope you win out and blowout your Bowl game opponent and establish some outside respect the SB needs.
  23. I agree. Those so-called "die-hard fans" who complain so much about the program and attendance should stop sitting on their behinds and complaining and rather be pro-active and sell the program and themselves get people to the stands. I'm working hard on having a top-quality tailgate with great tacos, steak, and other goods such as a DJ to entertain our guests. I'm not going to sit around and WAIT until the administration or the head coach sells the program...heck, they have a lot of other things to work on as well. I don't like our attendance numbers, so I'm trying my best to change that. Don't expect people to get 50 guests or so, but even if all of these "die-hard" fans get around 5 guests to the game, I can guarantee you we'd have a sold-out stadium.
  24. Yeah a bunch of the people we got weren't even considering staying for the game, just tailgating. Now that the time has changed, I bet a bunch will go, at least to the first half of the game. And 10 is good!
