  1. Both schools have good things going on for them. UNT is just on a sudden rapid improvement phase across the board and people with ignorance about its accomplishments don't really understand why--all of the sudden--we're demanding more respect. I'm not just talking about SMU folks, but most people outside of UNT who still have that negative mentality about North Texas. For example, today at work I was talking to a couple of co-works about college football. I mentioned that UNT has the potential to being a great athletic (with a strong football program contending with the big boys) school with strong academics...mainly due to it's location and size. One of them, a TAMU graduate, started to giggle. I always try to educate people like that about UNT and its improvements (which have been tremendous this past decade) and where it wants to go. We need more UNT alumni to have that passion and pro-active support toward what the institution is trying to accomplish...tier one research status with strong athletics and maintain its high-level liberal arts program. Even by just educating people about these things, your already helping to "clean-up" the institution's negative reputation around the area.
  2. I don't know if those were my expectations, but when watching the game and I see that the team could have played better and easily gotten to that margin, then I do recognize that the team needs to improve. And yes, even Tony Mitchell has a few things he'll need to work on. I'm excited though because I know the team will get better soon and I am hopeful for a conference title.
  3. Winning by 15 is not transfere annihilating an opponent. However, I think that with the talent we have, we could get to a very high level with a lot of effort, and if we were anywhere close to that level,, we would have won this game by a wider margin, I think. I am not too concerned about the margin, but more about the errors the team made tonight. I expect the team to get better as they find more chemistry and learn more from the coaches. By then, hopefully the team will start getting close to it's real potential.
  4. I don't see why we couldn't win the belt with this level of talent. If we can get the team to improve with each game, I don't see a team in the belt that would stop us. No, not Denver, not MTSU, nor any other.
  5. I never insinuated that we were threatened, but part of becoming a great team requires acknowledging your weaknesses and working hard on them to get to that level you aspire. We have the talent to be a pretty solid team and play better at a higher level. I'd like to see how the team progresses coming into conference play.
  6. Beating SMU by one point isn't transfere overly-impressive. I know they (JSU) are better than what their record indicates, but look by how much they've lost to those teams you mention. It is obvious if you watched the game that this team has got more practice and discipline to go through before we can start being a truly solid team. I saw lots of errors that can be corrected in the near future. I think these observations are positive though, since I'm expecting big things from this team.
  7. Wow..good we won, but gee, this team really has a long ways to go. Hopefully Tony Mitchell will make a significant difference.
  8. Tulane 55 NT 47. Final.
  9. If only the women would have shot a little better, they could have won the game. Good effort though against a good Tulane team.
  10. 52-44 Tulane, 1 minute left
  11. NT down by 10...3 or so minutes to go in the game. Don't think they can make another big come back the way they're shooting.
  12. Nevermind Tulane up by 11 now. NT doesn't know how to score from downtown.
  13. Good come back so far. Tulane only leads by 9 now.
  14. 42-30 Tulane leading. UNT will most likely lose this one.
  15. 34-28 Tulane leading, 2nd half...just started couple of minutes ago.
  16. I've seen it before. I'm jealous. Wish UNT games had packed attendance and electrifying traditions like Winsconsin's jump around. First let's start filling our stadium?
  17. Is there a video link online for this?
  18. anyone know if there is a link to this video online? and about him receiving a sticker?
  19. If that was the REAL average, it would have been decent and broken the record. But, as others have noted, those numbers have been jacked up a little, especially yesterday, no way there were 15k+ in the stadium yesterday.
  20. From what I read, the official attendance seems to be incorrect...could anybody give a pretty realistic approximation of what attendance was? Possibly 10k? And sigh, the ONE home game I HAD to miss this season and it turns out to be one of the best of all-time....SIGH.
  21. Did I say...GMG!??!!
  22. This game has been an incredible game and too bad many missed it. Final NT 59 MTSU 7! When was the last time this happened!??! Not to mention Lance Dunbar's all-time rushing record and all the other records that ensued! What a great way to end the season and get ready for a successful season next year! GMG!
  23. UT didn't even play that well. We're still very inconsistent in many areas of the game. Signs of slow improvements though, hope those keep coming.
  24. Is this for the football game? In that case, I may need a ticket. Don't think I'll be able to stay for the entire game, but I'd like to go and watch some of it at least.
