Yes. I am tired of a mediocre AD who strictly vowed to hire HC's with previous proven head coaching experience and first thing he does is hire Benford. It's laughable and I'm sick and tired of mediocrity. If the administration is serious about improving athletics, they need to get better leadership. Maybe they can get some pointers from TCU.

So how do we start a serious campaign to fire Benford? I think RV should go as well. I've said this should have been done at the beginning of the season, but nothing has come out of it.

When are we going to get serious about pressuring the administration to fire RV? Can't we all agree that it really is ultimately his fault for being an inept judge on coaching quality? The TD hire should have been enough for grounds of termination, but now with Benford in the mix, it's time for him [RV] to go, and, of course, Benford.

This year I think is very unpredictable, but without a question the team will be a better team than last year's team. However, our schedule will be tougher. I still think this year will show what Mac is truly building and that we'll go 6-6 at the least and return to a bowl game after nearly a decade.

I said it a long time ago--Benford needs to get fired. The man has no clue what he is doing. This is team is FAR from being a disciplined team and that is the only reason you need to understand why they can't play well as a team.

Come on people! Why hasn't there been a more organized campaign to fire Benford???? This season is becoming an atrocious failure and RV needs to acknowledge his hiring ineptitude and fire Benford and hire someone WITH head coaching experience. Practice what you preach RV, or you should be heading to another school as well.

Someone needs to start a petition to fire RV and Benford. Benford is a mess...such that TM doesn't even play with any type of motivation whatsoever...that's bad coaching. Time let the administration know that fans/students/alumni DO have higher standards and it's time they listen.

The petitions for a serious call to fire RV and Benford and anybody else who is not apt to meet higher expectations needs to start now. UNT needs to break this cycle soon. It is starting to do so in many areas, athletics needs to ensue.

Once Benford started substituting every 10 seconds after the team was on a good run, Cajuns cut the lead to 3. What is he trying to accomplish with all these subs? Can't he learn it brings no consistency?

Worst thing is Tony M is probably starting to regret staying at UNT. This is such a horrible position Benford has put the program in...RV is to blame as well.

IT IS TIME FOR NEW LEADERSHIP. UNT NEEDS TO START HAVING TRUE LEADERSHIP TO WIPE OFF THE BAD IMAGE IT HAS GARNERED OVER THE YEARS. RV HAS BEEN A GOOD AD FOR SOME THINGS, BUT IT IS TIME TO GET A GREAT AD WHO WILL KNOW HOW TO HIRE AND TAKE OUR ATHLETICS TO THE NEXT LEVEL, UP THERE WITH UH, BOISE, TCU...IT'S TIME GUYS. WE NEED TO DEMAND HIGHER STANDARDS INSTEAD OF LETTING POTENTIAL GET DESTROYED LIKE WE ARE SEEING HAPPENING NOW. Sorry for the CAPS, too lazy to change it when I realized it was all in CAPS.

I wholeheartedly that this is ON the coaching staff. Benford does NOT know what he is doing and RV has messed up some important coaching hires. We need a new AD and MBB head coach, IMO. Time to start changing the dynamic of this athletic department. There have been positive signs since the administration decided to back up athletics, but it's time to add better leadership and increase our standards. I'm seriously calling for new leadership and there should be people trying to make this happen behind the scenes because NT can't miss on opportunities to do great things--just like it'll do this season with this talented team because of poor leadership.

Now that I think about WKU and their season last year and I agree with you. I say RV needs to grow a pair and make an important decision or he should be looking a new job soon. I'm tired of mediocrity and excuses when it comes to UNT athletics.

Give them a year to continue misusing the talent they've inherited? Wait, but last year's WBB coach did not need a year, heck, she started off on a winning run at the beginning of the season of her first season when the previous seasons were abysmal for our women's program. Wonder why she head to UT after her first season....maybe because she didn't need a year?

Is it too early to fire these coaches and the AD and bring in some people who will truly change the negative image that NT athletics has around the nation?

This turning into an ugly, ugly season. I really hate to critique on the coaching, but Benford....WTH....substituting every second it seems like. This is just pitiful. I think we need to re-consider our athletic department's leadership.

We beat them at home. This game is about to be a NT win on the road, if so, it's a better win than last years. This team has a long way to go, but they will get better and I think seriously contend for the SB championship this year.

I think this is worse, in all honesty. Never has a NT team gotten so much publicity and hype on a national scale in the modern era (in any sport), only to completely embarrass itself this way and, once again, let everyone else say, "well, it's UNT, they've always sucked."

I was extremely sad when we lost JJ. Never understood those who criticized him. I can guarantee this game would have been a W if he was still around...and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying TB is a bad coach, but JJ was the man and understood Mean Green BB better than anyone.

Haha. I'm so sorry guys, but all is left to do is laugh. I have wasted enough time cheering on for over-hyped teams. Moving on to better things. But this is a great way to lose fans. If the players play pathetically, fans will stop following. I'll always support UNT, but can't take much of this anger any longer.
