  1. Wait, was that a joke? Out of the current school logo, UNT, numbers, etc.. You would honestly prefer the Alum logo?
  2. My father went to Marshall so I'm super psyched about the new conference. What are the chances we would play Marshall during the regular season? Would love to watch the Mean Green throw The Herd a beating!
  3. Count me as one of the few waiting to celebrate until CUSA specifically announces it... Everyone's acting like we've already been added, when we haven't... I'm a Sunbelt fan till I hear otherwise!
  4. I don't understand how announcers continue to say North Texas State. He is at the university, does he not know where he is? He hasn't seen "UNT" written anywhere? No one has informed him there is no "S" in "UNT"? Very confusing, nothing gets passed this guy.
  5. Let me clarify, there is nothing I would like to see more then UNT win a tournament game. My point is the vast majority of top notch 5* recruits are not going to college for an education, their going because they have to in order to enter the league. The NBA is the end game. period. If Tony keeps putting up these numbers and gets drafted high, he becomes a model. His success becomes a blueprint for others like him. "Why risk riding pine at Kansas, when you can be a leader here and get drafted high like Tony at UNT". I will be super excited if he stays next season, but I'll be even more excited when he enters the draft at the apex of his buzz. WHENEVER that may be(which is probably after next season due to the stacked class). Tony is great, but we need a strategy to get more Tonys. Top draft picks from UNT are what grabs a recruits attention. A tournament win would too, but you dont get paid for that. Draft picks get paid, and its all about the money to the top guys..
  6. I am dead serious. BUT. On second thought, this draft is going to be stacked, so it would benefit him to stay another season. With CJ and Jordan back on the team next season his numbers are going to drop. If he maintained the numbers he is putting up now throughout the rest of the season and killed the record books, his draft stock would be insane. Are you really going to argue that 1 tournament win would be more profound to an incoming 5* recruit then a top NBA draft pick? I'm not talking your solid 3 to 4 star recruits, I'm talking 5* guys that are being watched by NBA scouts in 8th grade. I'm just putting myself in their shoes. If I'm a top notch recruit choosing between a school that had a solid run and snagged a tournament game, and a school that just produced a top draft pick out of a guy much like myself; I'm going to the school that has proved they can get me where I need to go. A tournament win would be great for the fan base, but would soon fade (much like those NO bowls years back). A top draft pick from UNT reveals a backdoor formula to the league. Why go to a huge school and compete for pt when I can do what Tony did, go to UNT, demolish the competition and draft high. I'm pretty sure Tony has proven one or two players of his caliber would go a looong way. All we need is a couple and the tournament wins will follow.
  7. My thoughts exactly! I hope he rips up the record books this season, and gets drafted high. That shows all the 5* recruits in the nation that you can come to North Texas, destroy the competition, own the spotlight and rape the NBA draft! That is the only asset we have in the belt, and him doing this proves that to all the prospects across the nation. Sure, having him back next season and possibly winning a tournament game would be nice, in the short run. In the long run, a top NBA draft pick from NT visiting the pit every now and again (ala Durant at UT) encouraging others to do what he did would do more for the programs longevity than anything else IMO. Doesn't Duke have All Americans coming off the bench, getting zero pt?? Come to North Texas, dominate, and go to the league instead...
  8. WOW!!!! HUGE WIN!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!
  9. Denver is unconscious from 3...
  10. What are you talking about? Explain your statement. If they did not make grades here, why would leaving and going to another school make them any better off?
  11. I hated having to +1 you on that, but you speak the truth.
  12. Haha, ok... Well as soon as your wife leaves, I have one for you too.
  13. Your right.. That was a knee jerk reaction. I just hate when fans of other teams want to show up and discuss the loss! I never do that, just seems lame... Sorry buddy.
  14. I love it! Wink and the gun!
  15. Just watched the final shot of this game. GET OFF OF OUR BOARD, AND CRAWL BACK INTO YOUR HOLE!
  16. Lets continue mentioning "center hanging scoreboard", until the ad logs on and gets the message!
  17. 34 and 16, I would say so!!
  18. 34 and 16, I would say so!!
  19. Update??
  20. Yes it will! IMO winning records draw crowds!
  21. Corrected!
  22. Ok buddy! I bet you think baggy suits, and socks with sandals are cool too?
  23. I agree. Truth is he's playing out of position because we are thin at that position. He's 6'8 2(something), put him on the perimeter (on offense) and give him space to find his grove, isolate him in the post. This guy has Kobe's stature, with Lebron's aggression. He should be playing with his talents, not against them. The other less talented players should be the ones having to adjust. This team should have a Chris Paul/Blake Griffin type dynamic with Mitch and CJ. It's frustrating seeing his talent not being utilized. You use a hammer for nails, not a screwdriver. Additionally, people bashing the coaching clearly have never played competitive basketball. The team is losing because they are unable to make shots. They are in position to make shots, they're just not making them. That falls on the players shoulders and their extra time in the gym, not the coach. This is college, not high school. They should already be players, coach can only put them in a position to apply their talents. We sink that shot in the fourth and that's a W. A win is a win, no matter the margin. String 20 close wins together and voila, great season.
  24. I don't know about that. If said player is within a reasonably close range of skill when compared to his competitors, he will likely get the nod if there are long standing relationships with the father. Considering they are all relatively green, it wouldn't be tough to justify(practice)...
  25. I agree. I wouldn't mind (1) uni with some black in it as well. I don't mean black outline either. I mean a contrast uni, similar to ND's. Matte black helmet, kelly green eagle logo, maybe the number on one side. White jersey, kelly green numbers, black pants with the kelly green eagle logo. Green/white cleats, black gloves kelly trim. We've all seen the black unis, but not done properly by Nike. Just my two cents... Justifies all the black/green gear being marketed and worn in the stands.
