Was a decent field. Not top 20 teams, but pretty much all the teams in the top 100.

Will they (the PAC-12) agree though? If they get a financial recompense maybe I guess? Not so sure. They have little to lose by negotiating hard. For the AAC the best was actually someone else holding up the process, so it isn't the AACs fault, but there would be an extra champions spot under the 6+6 model.

I see the women are 46th on the new rankings site. Oughta be enough to get an at large later this season. Took them FOREVER to get that ranking to work. Hope some folks at the NCAA got fired for how they mishandled that.

As far as I can tell, he was a great president, both for athletics and academics. Not only did UNT invest more in athletics than ever before and had the necessary investments in place to make the jump to the AAC -which so far does look like a n improvement on the C-USA and sunbelt experience - it also reached Tier one status under his watch, with being well on its way to even more and recently successfully lobbied the state for more money in the new fund (although you could obviously argue that it still gets nowhere near what the UT and A&M sysetms get).

That DOES say something. now to keep up there while increasing the schedule difficulty.

After losing to FAU yesterday UNT moved up in the NET ranking from 71st to 69th.

Its an interesting one: UNT against legacy members: 5:0 UNT against fellow conference newbs: 0-2.

SMU is bad. Always has been always will be... and on top of that they also suck at basketball.

I can't help but think that it is a big FU from the conference to FSU to make them be SMUs conference opener and have them traveling to SMU. Also funny: SMus opener will already be FSUs fourth conference game. Feels like they see other games as more important than the conference

Less annoyed at this loss than at the LSU, Fordham and St Johns losses. Its a ranked team getting home cooking on their home floor. Also they still have to go to Denton.

I don't hate him taking that shot as much as some of you. Yes waiting sure IS the better play there. But he is super open, and in rythm and has no reason to not be confident, chances an equally good opportunity to drain it will not be coming. Also this ball comes there very quick, its not like he has two seconds to think about it, as he gets the ball almost out of nowhere so freely at the arc. What is more, we on the screen always see the clock, the players do not. Yes they oughta have an idea about it, but in that situation I want 100 % of his cognitive resources on making that shot.

honestly when you see the replay with the elbow in the fact, maybe it is not highly intentional, but it still should have been called a flagrant

I didn't see his full interview, but I assume it was done beforehand and not actually live, which would have made it difficult to talk about anything related UNT.

On a side note: Its nice to be on ESPN2 rather than some channel only streamers care about. Also not minding seeing Grant McCasland during the break

UNT beat SMu for the first time in 25 years. It may be a bit counter intuitive ... but it is true that it took so long because UNT was mostly better than SMu at basketball in the last 20 years

Potentially. But definitely not in 2036.

I went with Bell, with Perry and Hamlet second and third but essentially interchangable. Primarily because I think having someone who can score at his position would help this team more than a great shooter as it would open up the whole offense. That said, the others capacity to find buckets when there are no open looks and the shot clock ticks down would obviously also be tremendously valuable. Mitchell doesn't figure for me, as despite tremendous athletic talent he never developed into that good a college player. Had he played for Mac/Hodge (or Jones) that might have been different, but then again they also have a bunch of players whom they don't play if they don't buy in.
