Two years of PE were required in the 60's when I was a student and one of the second year's offerings was horseback riding which I took. There was a nice lady who owned a dude sort of horse ranch a mile or so from campus. It was a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday class and I loved it. The final exam included a hayride and picnic.
