  1. It's me. No, really, I admit...so many times over the years whenever I watch one if our games, we poop the bed...so many many times.
  2. Somehow, I was able to break the number one rule of the interwebs: Never Post During Happy Hour!
  3. Here's some old sheeut.
  4. Yeah. No wonder. This just came up on the interwebs: ALDF in 2021 sued the USDA over its decision to approve the label for Perdue's "Fresh Line" chicken products, saying that its pictures of chickens in an open pasture were misleading because the company's chickens in fact spend their lives in overcrowded warehouses.
  5. UNT 49 TULSA 45 Just win. Please, Baby Jesus.
  6. 41-34 Them. I hate myself.
  7. Very informative. Thanks so much for your time and effort and sharing!
  8. That's a fact and let's hope it's not repeated annually.
  9. Hopefully, this news item will be allowed time to find its own truth.
  10. Thanks for sharing. Excellent insight! For what it's worth I came across this tonight from Manny Navarro's article in the Athletic: "If you’re looking for a game in which passing records might be broken, tune into North Texas’ visit to Texas Tech on Saturday at noon (ET). North Texas’ Chandler Morris ranks second in total passing yards (737) and faces a Red Raiders defense that ranks 129th in passing yards allowed per game (310.5). Texas Tech’s Behren Morton, meanwhile, ranks fourth in passing yards (701) and faces the 128th-ranked pass defense (306.5). Morris will throw for more yards (400-plus) than Morton (280-plus), and the Mean Green (9.5-point underdogs) will pull off the 38-34 upset in Lubbock."
  11. I know this doesn't have anything to do with SMU but...
  12. Yes, including all schools and sports for our entire household and my wife is a graduate fan of the University of Georgia.
  13. On our schedule this coming season, these five games are with teams we would statistically be expected to defeat: East Carolina #100 UAB #113 Tulsa #115 Temple #129 (Plus Stephen F. Austin) The question is can we meet those minimum expectations plus sneak by one additional team to become bowl eligible?
  14. Maybe he's not in the church choir?
  15. Thanks for the update. I'm not getting the feed.
  16. University alumnus Eric Gay has been awarded the 2024 Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography for his work documenting the journey of migrants from Columbia to the United States. Gay is one of eight photographers at the Associated Press who shot the collection of photos in Central America and at the U.S.–Mexico borders, in both Texas and California, who won the Pulitzer. Gay contributed two photos depicting migrants crossing the U.S. border from Mexico into Texas. In one image, a mother helps her young child crawl underneath a concertina wire, a type of barbed wire fence, that runs along the Rio Grande river at the border in Eagle Pass, Texas. https://www.ntdaily.com/news/university-alum-awarded-pulitzer-prize-for-photojournalism-efforts-at-border/article_69bc2a50-43c6-11ef-8b98-5b0404362b0c.html
  17. All solid ideas for sure...if only. Sadly, that ship done sailed.
  18. From The Athletic, today (pretty much a rehash) : The Big 12 isn’t the only Football Bowl Subdivision conference considering selling its naming rights to a sponsor. At least three Group of 5 conferences have held discussions on the topic as well, including Conference USA, the American and the Mountain West, multiple people involved in the discussions told The Athletic. New AAC commissioner Tim Pernetti told The Athletic that he brought up the idea of conference naming rights during his interview for the conference’s top job earlier this year, and it remains a point of discussion. With a background in sports business and private equity, Pernetti has been very open to finding new revenue streams for college sports. “Nothing should be off the table,” Pernetti said. Pernetti believes brands and companies have a strong affinity for college sports, and there are ways that partnerships can strengthen programs at a time of great change. As Rutgers’ athletic director, he helped sell the naming rights to the Scarlet Knights’ football stadium. He also negotiated the jersey sponsorship for New York City FC during his time as the MLS club’s chief business officer. Pernetti emphasized that it’s not simply about who offers the most money. The brand has to fit. At the Group of 5 level, schools will see less money distributed from the NCAA in order for the organization to cover the back pay damages from the House settlement, and the new massive CFP contract won’t provide much more money for their leagues. So everything is up for discussion, including the possibility of renaming a conference or adding a sponsor to the existing name. “These are the conversations we need to have,” Pernetti said.
  19. I agree. Private equity ownership by definition commoditizes the conference allowing it be bought and sold. To anyone. In any nation. What's to prevent or at the very least moderate private equity regarding selling off the most attractive assets to any vulture capitalist group? And, if that turns out not to be fun for them, bankruptcy is always a choice. Then what?
