"...we interviewed Christian Fagerlund a figure painter who is also a professor at the University of North Texas. We talk about his career as an artist and how being a professor at University of North Texas has affected his career and sales, as well as some really awesome tips for artists who are just starting out and don't quite know where to start. And we talk about some of his upcoming projects such as online courses and some Zoom portraits! " http://www.christianfagerlund.com/

With regard to the Texas vs Alabama game: At the very least, I'm hoping Alabama looses this game and both teams, lose the rest of their games. Forever.

I did graduate work at the University of Georgia. My wife and many family members graduated from there and I have great fondness and respect for that university but, I love my North Texas with all my heart and soul. It is in my DNA and when we attended the UGA/UNT game a few years ago, I proudly wore my Mean Green gear and hoped beyond hope that we would beat Georgia.

I always hope every team we play wins every game they play except when they play us.

I thought that as well but, for what it's worth, I found this on Bryant's website: "Bryant University is home to 22 NCAA Division I athletics teams."

UTEP Miners expect a sold out Sun Bowl for game against North Texas Mean Green in final Conference USA tilt between the in-state rivals. How head coach Dana Dimel and athletic director Jim Senter made this happen. The FBS season in Texas begins Saturday when North Texas travels to El Paso to face Conference USA foe UTEP in front of what is expected to be the first sell out of the Sun Bowl since a 2008 contest against Texas. This is on the heels of the Miners’ first winning record – and bowl appearance – since 2014. The last sell out for a conference game came against Marshall in 2005. https://www.texasfootball.com/articles/article/?url=2022/08/23/if-dana-dimel-builds-it-they-will-come-from-winless-to-a-sold-out-sun-bowl-for-the-utep-miners

Pretty much a rehash of all we've been reading for the last few days... "No conference in college football is undergoing as much change as Conference USA. Top three nonconference games SMU at North Texas (Sept. 3) Houston at UTSA (Sept. 3) Western Kentucky at Indiana (Sept. 17) UNT won its final five regular-season games last year and opens with a big DFW rivalry game against SMU. UTSA’s home opener against Houston is one of the biggest intra-G5 matchups of the year, with both teams favored to win conference titles. WKU nearly beat Indiana a year ago, narrowly losing 33-31. It could be C-USA’s best shot at a Power 5 win this year. Top three conference games Western Kentucky at UTSA (Oct. 😎 UAB at Western Kentucky (Oct. 21) UTSA at UAB (Nov. 5) These three teams could be the best in the league, and their regular-season matchups will be huge. WKU and UTSA will meet in a C-USA championship game rematch, their third game in two seasons. Could there be a fourth in December? UAB has to go to WKU in late October and then hosts UTSA two weeks later. The Blazers want to get back to the C-USA title game, and those two games could determine if that happens. Offensive player of the year: UTSA QB Frank Harris Finally healthy, Harris threw for 3,161 yards with 27 touchdowns and six interceptions and ran for 561 yards and six more TDs last year. Head coach Jeff Traylor called Harris the most improved player he’s ever coached. With his top five receivers back and questions at running back, this should be more of a passing attack, and Harris is primed for a big sixth and final season. Defensive player of the year: North Texas LB KD Davis Davis briefly entered the transfer portal in late June, but a few days later he opted to stay at UNT. The fifth-year senior earned first-team all-conference honors after racking up 121 tackles, 13 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown) and seven quarterback hurries. He’s led the Mean Green in tackles for three consecutive years. UNT’s defense must improve again this season (78th in scoring in 2021), but Davis is a bright spot. Projected standings 1. UTSA 2. UAB 3. Western Kentucky 4. UTEP 5. North Texas UNT started 1-6 last year, but a switch in offensive philosophy to run the ball more helped lead the Mean Green to five consecutive wins, including one win against 11-0 UTSA, to reach a bowl game. The team averaged 283 rushing yards per game in the winning streak, which also helped the defense stay off the field. The No. 1 running back spot is open, with Ikaika Ragsdale and Ayo Adeyi back after combining for 1,030 yards and Oscar Adaway returning from an injury that cost him 2021. The 28-year-old Austin Aune has won the QB battle again. The defense improved from the rock bottom season of 2020, but with only four starters back, new stars must emerge alongside Davis. 6. FAU 7. Charlotte 8. Middle Tennessee 9. Louisiana Tech 10. Rice 11. FIU" The article (paywall that allows limited monthly access): https://theathletic.com/3524269/2022/08/21/conference-usa-football-2022-predictions/?source=freedailyemail&campaign=601983

If you "Google Stadium TV College Football", you will get several references to a variety of confusing unrelated items. Don't be discouraged. Keep drilling as I did until I found this little gem of a reference indicating Stadium is free for only $75.99/month.

"The Big Ten Conference has finalized a monumental set of media rights agreements, expected to be worth more than $1 billion annually, with Fox, CBS and NBC — and notably without ESPN. The Big Ten’s new deals will make it the wealthiest conference in college sports, just weeks after the conference announced it would add University of Southern California and UCLA from the Pacific-12." The new deals, which begin in 2023 and were announced Thursday morning, will give the conference an NFL-like schedule spread across three broadcast networks on college football Saturdays with set windows for each — noon on Fox; 3:30 p.m. on CBS; and primetime on NBC. It is the first time in four decades that the conference will not have a formal partnership with ESPN. chttps://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/08/18/big-ten-tv-rights/?utm_campaign=wp_post_most&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&wpisrc=nl_most&carta-url=https%3A%2F%2Fs2.washingtonpost.com%2Fcar-ln-tr%2F37af119%2F62fe60de1930ae1d20548bb3%2F5bd39801ade4e2323ef16c75%2F44%2F72%2F62fe60de1930ae1d20548bb3&wp_cu=bbd5f5c12033f01c75d50d33198752f3|C505A0794D3A1FDBE0530100007F2B01

"Like so many of history’s great tragedies — the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII, the French Revolution, the end of ashtrays in cars — the decline of college football began with reasonable calls for reform. There really was something odd about the fact that Michigan and Nebraska, two undefeated football teams that had never played each other, were both able to call themselves the 1997 national champions. Surely, fans thought, it should be possible to come up with a system that determines who the real champion is." I feel your pain, we all do and while I am certain we will find a spot it may be less than perfect. No one even knows how or where the pieces will fall at this point and certainly a bunch of unknowns will factor in all of which is way out of our control. Let's just circle the wagons and hunker down, get through the winter. Stay warm and stay together.
