UH should get the nod. Playing in Houston every year is an advantage for Texas, not a disadvantage. Plus they've got a butt ton of alumni and are filling their stadium every week. It also makes cultural sense, lots of history with many big 12 members and a solid sports history.

Keep the Kelly green, interlocking NT, keep it clean and simple.

You're right - I don't know that for sure. It is an assumption. The numbers are out there to be collected but I don't have the energy to collect them. BUT, I'm pretty sure that 1. Being born and raised in Arlington, 2. Coaching in OK/TX for the last 10 consecutive years, and 3. Coaching in the metroplex the last 2 means he has more relationships than a guy who has only spent 3 years out of the last 15 in the state of Texas - even if Littrell recruited TX during the years he's been gone there's no way he was as plugged into it as Meach. I also believe he has the energy and the brand name to excite kids. I know my prior words were relatively extreme because I'm feeling the emotional effects of this roller coaster, and I've stated that I don't have any problems with Littrell...I just believe that Meach was THE guy...slam dunk...perfect choice...stars aligned kind of potential get.

It comes down to recruiting in DFW for me...maybe you're right and I'm wrong, but I feel like it's the difference maker between the two.

Those ties are much more dried up at this point than Meach's...I have nothing against Littrell, I just can't believe we didn't get it done with Meacham....I really can't. I'd love to be positive but this is just crazy to me.

Right - I'm not suggesting it was the other way around...which makes it even worse. When I say "missing" I mean missing a perfect opportunity. I agree that is exactly what went down and it's ridiculous that it did.

He is clearly the better candidate between himself and Littrell. These arguments that the Texas ties are irrelevant do not make any sense. He is a DFW guy to the bone and is being saught after by plenty other schools as well. His name has been dropped in Missouri opening, Houston as a contingency in case they didn't get the Herman deal done, etc, etc.... Look, Littrell has done impressive things...but he is nowhere near the fit that Meach would have been.

I appreciate Smatty's efforts and know he takes this incredibly seriously...but to option for Littrell (or anyone) over Meach is a gigantic mistake. GIGANTIC.

Missing on Meacham is entirely unacceptable...he was the most qualified candidate by a million miles....We are a joke.

I hope so...many of the UH guys he was with stayed on with Herman so possible to promote from that crop as well. Both schools have good schemes in spite of the frogs injury related troubles this year. He's got a very wide network after 30+ years...that's another bonus

Lots of dummies out there post online all the time. Overall I've got tons of respect for tcu and their program. They've done it the hard way. There are some differences in demographics, population, conference/football history, but overall, they should be a model program for us to certain extents.

Are we sure he is sending a cryptic message? Or is it possible he's just saying he's hoping its Meacham?
