Gotdamn I love you guys and your hate for our perceived next conquest (which I agree with). That said, can we just be real and just start winning som f’n games before we start a zillion threads whining about the ponies? We need to find some flex and right now we have a lot of flaccid when it comes to those guys so let’s just worry about getting that part right before we worry about the kind of shape their program is in. Wanna beat ‘em like hell but we have housekeeping to do.

Remember who the Wyoming QB was right about then? Would’ve been cool to see two similar guys of our respective eras go head to head. I’m totally fine with this home and home. They were playing in a better league at the time. I think the OP may possibly feel different if we were playing a CUSA schedule again next year but not sure. Nothing wrong with playing a flagship state school in the Mountain West for now until we beat them consistently. Let’s not take the cheap way, let’s not take the harder way. Let’s just take the right way which is beating the next dudes in front of you, IMO.

Not in the least. Just saying I'm not envying USF. We just need to be a better version of ourselves.

USF is 4-29 in the last three seasons and havent had a winning record since 2018 at 7-6 under Charlie Strong. They're shit and also no longer P5 and will be in the same conference as us next year. The case being made may have made sense 10 years ago, but it damn sure doesnt now which ultimately means it didnt make sense back then. I get the sentiment - invest in the program. Won't argue with that, but the USF reference is nonsense.

I don’t envy their conference affiliation prospects but their sports garments are absolutely gorgeous.

It absolutely sucks but we didn’t take care of business when we needed to. Weird how deflating an NIT bid can be. Trying to not be an entitled ahole but it’s frustrating seeing this good of a team fall short of their potential.

I‘m not sure but I do sure know I’m damn looking forward to AAC Tournament venues like Dickey’s Arena with real cameras, lighting, multi conference bids, etc for next year and beyond. This team is so damn good and they deserve all of it.

So much to be excited about. I really wish our fanbase would get better about attendance somehow. The football argument is always to win and people will come. While true, that hasnt completely translated to basketball. Current conference games are typically Thursday and Saturdays. Thursday nights are big nights for students, and should be reflected in their attendance. Saturday, alumni have few excuses (apart from matinee tips with kids sports perhaps, but that's really the exception). I love the Pit so much, but it almost seems like the idea of a new arena may help with the experience of attending the games. Point is, the boys are doing their part. We need to do ours.

I think the idea that was thrown out earlier on this thread of honoring commitments already made (and sold by the Athletic Department) regarding the seat licenses with at least some form of a discount, is a great place to start. Those arent the kinds of donors/ticket holders that you want to drive away. They've been investing thousands annually into this stadium and program with very little payoff for a long time. Coach Morris and the conference move are wonderfully exciting things and I myself am continuing to up my contributions. However, those who stepped up over the past 12 years and were told they were building equity in something they really weren't, all the while seeing a mediocre product, have a very valid gripe and I'd hate to see us lose them over something that can be controlled. Grandfather them with discounts or other perks/credits.

Agreed - but it appears the HUB Club situation is pretty much the only messy element of this...and I'd call it quite messy.

Without going back and re-reading it, I think what they were saying is the required donation for each seat used to apply to both football and basketball - in other words, you only had to do 1x the donation for both your football and basketball seat. Now you have to make the donation 2x. It's not blanket donation anymore, but by sport.

Yes renewal in 104 was same as last year. I’ve been interested in HUB especially now, but I understand being pissed if you’d owned prior HUB. There should be some legacy benefits for those who have paid their dues over the years. Still waiting to hear the latest on naming right impacts.

I’m sure I’m not allowed to copy paste but it’s our local paper, he went to Belton High and played for his late dad. It outlined his success as a player and coach and how experienced he is in March and most importantly how he isn’t looking for a next job and that he’s happy doing what he’s doing: “As successful as he’s been as an assistant, Braeuer doesn’t obsess over one day running his own program. “Everybody has goals to be a head coach,” he said. “But I don’t spend time on a daily basis thinking about it. Indeed, we just never truly developed them which was the problem. Old news though. The future is bright with these guys.

We already had talent on the roster before Eric got here. Think about how we hung with Boise. We can be a quality G5 right now. We got some good secondary guys and a QB. We have stuff to be excited about. Don’t make yourself be miserable.

You’re not wrong. It won’t take much to surpass them. But to bury them and forget them forever, which should be our aspiration, we need a QB (which we may have gotten), the facility improvement, consistent quality attendance, and to f’n consistently win. Til we do that, I won’t run my mouth at em even though I hate em. I think we should aim higher than being their rival, but for now they’ve more than made their case. It’s on us to get the leverage now. We’ll see.
