I agree with most of your points, I think our only difference may just be our conclusion. I’m too tired to counterpoint for the night other than that our records improved under Seth relative to the previous decade. If I feel like it I’ll come back, but general tip of the hat bc I don’t think we are thinking all that differently about the circumstances that surrounded the whole deal.

Having gotten on campus in 2005, the run from 05-15 only saw one season I was proud of. That was so miserable. I didn’t get to experience the joys of the years prior and spent a decade in my favorite hobby’s hellhouse. I appreciate Seth for modernizing the program, giving us something to finally cheer about (before, apart from a solid 2013 and a handful of small wins here and there, there wasn’t much) and some hope for a while. So I would definitely say he elevated the program. Not to crazy heights but it was better than how he found it. I think Smatresk and Wren deserve a lot of credit for all of that elevation too.

That’s bc DFW is so nationally seen as a destination and we are usually lesser than our predicted opponent.

I’m with you but the O Line definitely forces Morris (who himself often rushes throws under pressure) to scramble too often. Pressure does tend to get to us. That said, it’s beyond clear that our defense (the scheme and poor tackling) killed us. We can never be in position to defend a shallow flag combo route and the deep drag often gets us too. But we play so soft at times that even underneath routes with O Lines that can protect for long enough go for first downs regularly. I was getting encouraged by our defensive changes but that’s backtracked a lot lately.

1. We happen to have a new President (no offense to Smatresk, he was largely absolutely fantastic). But if we organize, we have an opportunity to influence bringing the parade back. 2. Teams that are worth viewing are on at 11 all the damn time. It’s for TV. It’s a good thing. Be happy about it.

I’m a UH guy and I have no bones to pick with Tom. He’s a weirdo but I think he’s a great coach. From a UT persoective pulled the Charlie Strong leftovers out of a shitstorm and if you want to place any blame on things going south look to the boosters as usual. Texas is a toxic place and Sark is succeeding bc he doesn’t get intimidated by it which is refreshing for them. Herman is a high anxiety guy, I get that. But he did good things for Texas.

I love the look but it takes away from the special of the script the last time out a little. It’s nice, but especially on the road, I prefer the regular default sow helmet but love the green pants.
