The parking will work itself out as well as tailgating "rules". JRock

Fouts was great! I got there at 7:30 and we parked the double decker school bus on the south end of the old stadium along the grass. The parking company and UNT police quickly ordered us to move it between the blue concrete blocks near the center of the lot. Of course us and others politely complained and requested to stay put. The parking company's head guy was very aggressive regarding the RV issue and the UNT police ended up contacting the athletic director's office. Bryan came out who was SUPER nice and allowed us to stay. The RV area between the blue parking blocks filled up fast. I figure UNT will have to revisit their rules as far as RVs. The UNT police and the parking company clearly were not on the same page. UNT police was very nice and the parking company workers were nice. The workers were even complaining about the head parking company guy. Our group was very polite and thanked Bryan profusely. The lot then quickly filled up throughout the day and it was a huge party. Many of the NT fans around us paid us a visit, shared food/drink and we had a great time. At one point, this U of H lady walked over and asked us to turn our music down. We all looked at her with a blank face and she walked away. Party continued. PS: My wife (die hard LSU fan) was decked in green, started playfully yelling "Bird Feed!" to all of the UH fans from top of the bus as they past by, tossing them green beads. It was pretty funny. Good college football razzing. FYI, LSU fans yell "Tiger Bait" at the opposing fans. She may have something going with this one. It was a friendly way of taunting the visiting fans. JRock

Ok....So I am exhausted like all of you who were there. Will write more tomorrow. We had an absolute great time today! Thank you to all of you who dropped by our tailgate. It was a party. Great meeting you all! I am proud of our boys. Number 1...I saw progress and energy in our team. We are getting better as a team....no doubt. Stadium looked great. Fans were great. So many positives in handful of things we can work on as fans/stadium stuff. Even with the loss, I walked away incredibly proud. Talk with you guys soon. GO MEAN GREEN JRock

Cool. We are looking to score a parking pass last minute from someone so we can park it near Apogee. Regardless, you are welcome to join us. We will be hard to miss. JRock

Look for the double decker school bus with flags. We may be at Fouts if we can't find parking on Apogee side. NT alums Always welcome. JRock

Totally agree. Ponyfans poster says they want us to go back to FCS and are wishing us the worst for tom. Nonsense. Win or lose tomorrow, we are growing. If anything, they should be worried. JRock

I had four people call me and ask if they could join our tailgate and buy tickets. Great sign of our growth. By the way, the SMU board is of course wishing the worst on us for our opener, saying we will eventually go back to FCS. Um...Win or lose this season, I don't think so. JRock

Cool! I am bringing a double decker school bus all tricked out. Will be at Fouts if I can't somehow park around Apogee. If anyone has a parking pass they are not using on the Apogee side, please send me a message. Look forward to celebrating with you all. GO MEAN GREEN! JRock

Awesome. Thanks for the update. Look forward to meeting a lot of you guys. I'll be there with a double decker tailgating schoolbus at Fouts. We won't be hard to miss. GO MEAN GREEN! JRock

I have confirmation that the cash student lot will be available to non-students only on game day and only if it is not full etc. This is directly from the ticket office. She gave me the impression that most will be at Fouts. JRock

Thanks....Yeah I considered that but I may not have access to this bus consistently. That's the only hangup. I have no problwm parking in the field west of the stadium if they would let me. But as is I think my only option is Fouts. I just hope it's not a ghost town over there with many wanting to be on "The Hill". JRock

Thanks...I'm calling now. JRock

Ok..so I have this cool small school bus with an upper deck converted to a tailgating headquarters for the game Saturday. It can fit within two parking spaces longways. I really wasn't waiting to tailgate at Fouts and wondered if there are other options. I am not getting club seats until next year. I have about 25-30 people in my tailgating group and we want to go all out. Is there any green area on the west or south side of the stadium that allows people to park who are not club members. The Hill sounds cool to set up canopies, but I don't want to lug all of my stuff across 35 before or after the game. Believe me when I say this bus is one of the coolest things you will ever see at a tailgate. If Fouts is my only option then so be it, but I really wanted to be close to the stadium. Any advice would be great. Thanks, JRock

Our Football Program and the Negativity it Breeds: A Challenge
JRock replied to JRock's topic in Mean Green Football
".there's nothing to be positive about." Depends on the context. "Nothing" is a very strong word to even use when there is a mountain of positive things to discuss. "I refuse to accept the loser mentality and attitude." Now this I like very much. It shows a solid commitment as a fan. Yes, being negative is a reality, however, after a while, one will be standing there bitching by themselves. It's a reality that people get sick of it. Regardless, my original post was to help foster a new attitude towards the growth we are seeing in NT football. I'm not trying to get this forum to sit around a campfire making friendships bracelets. It's about solid constructive support of our program as alumni and students. Our boys in green deserve it. JRock -

Our Football Program and the Negativity it Breeds: A Challenge

Of course. However, there are many in our fan base that can make more of an effort than whining all the time and use that spent energy on being constructive. I have been a fan a long time and my loyalty has never weakened. There is something to say about an anonymous quote about becoming great. "One becomes great by surrounding themselves by great people." JRock -
I say we see an entirely different kind of performance out of our boys. They just have to play clever. I say we win by 3. JRock

I have a feeling that logo willnot just be Apogee. They will probably add the winf zone looking graphics around it to frame it in . That would be logical. JRock

So true. I've read this board for years, but just now contribute consistently. The loyalty thing gets pretty ridiculous around here. And most of the time people complain cause it makes them feel better. I'll do my part to help combat that garbage. Constructive criticism is one thing but constant negativity...personally I don't like to be around. JRock
