I meant here at my HS. I know he was at UNT
-
Players or alums lol? Bc that would be a very hard stat to track down. I know on this board there is me and at least one other coaching in the HS ranks. Bc cool if we could get a list going. I'll start: Chris VanCleave (UNT 2009) Harker Heights HS-Killeen ISD: Varsity Safeties/Head Track Luke Barganier (UNT 2013) Harker Heights HS-Killeen ISD: Varsity Corners/Assistant Track

So upset we didn't get him here. Feel bad we gotta put it on a fellow Mean Greeen alum!

It's a Great Time to Root for a Texas Group of 5 Team

Kind of my point, and by this time he will have either put them on the map and bounced or they will be a legit G5 like UH -

Because there are plenty of ways to get around the NCAA...the slick ones know the ins and outs. -

I don't doubt this. It's very common for programs that suck (Baylor) or unknown (UTSA), and suddenly get good to be doing something a little shady. Baylor had lots going on, UTSA will be exposed eventually but they might have already made a name for themselves at that point. -

Just point after point being made at why UTSA is a good rival.....live in reality! -

I agree why not embrace it...shit its a natural rival, and they have been some good games. You dont fabricate rivals, it has just become one! -

You dumb f*cks really need to get off your high horse with UTSA. They made a bowl game, they are in a MAJOR Texas city. That area is exploding, and Im sorry they have a great recruiter. Kids dont give a shit if we have been playing football 100 more years than them. This is 2017, kids are not the same as when you grew up....that crap doesnt matter anymore. UTSA aint going anywhere, so just realize they are a rival from here on out. -
I want one for my classroom! I'm 4 hours away

DRC: Lake Ridge QB Jason Bean commits to UNT

Players get stars based on other offers. If a kid can play he can play -

'18 DL Jaxon Player (Midway HS, TX)
unt_rocket09 replied to GMG24's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
This dude can play -
I dont remember this dude being a single factor when we played Belton. Calling OVERHYPED based on his measurables. Now, the Safety Vaughn...that dude can play and is a physical specimen. Give me Harker Heights Joseph Evans over this trash from Belton ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Legit 4.6 40 and crazy athletic. http://www.hudl.com/profile/7545192/joseph-evans http://www.hudl.com/v/1mUuZv Highlight vs Duncanville running down UNT's Siggers
-
IMO he isn't a D1 QB. Now I'm no expert, but we have played far better QBs than him over the years. He is an athlete, I would think would make a hell of a safety. I don't know the kid well, just played him the last 2 years. Has good size and speed.
-
Here is Muckelvaney (Killeen High) and the kid I told y'all about Jaquan Tillis (Harker Heights) today at 7 on 7
-
Muckelvaney is a physical specimen for Killeen High. Dual sport guy, and has good body awareness. The knock on him is his speed, but good athlete. Can hoop as well. QB Johnson from Killeen IMO is not D1 material but he has the size and speed for the D1 level. He does have a cannon, but not the best accuracy.

You said for Unt to drop track. Either way not happening. I wish unt would get baeball as well. -

False. You say drop track, yet Texas has the best track athletes in the nation. Typical baseball guy who has no idea that track is a huge sport in this state. Go to the state track meet in Austin and tell me nobody cares about track. -

DRC: UNT 2016 recruiting class review
unt_rocket09 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Hell at least they stay around! Most of McCarney's are long gone -
Would advise against not recruiting in your own backyard. There is a reason teams from across the nation recruit Texas. It is not feasible to recruit Florida or California. This is real life with real people, not NCAA on Xbox. You have to get HS coaches believing in program, it happens by winning over head coaches and trickles down to the kids.

2018 Recruit Jaquan Tillis Harker Heights HS
unt_rocket09 replied to unt_rocket09's topic in Mean Green Football
Hey man I coach DBs lol. Offer is for WR, but some are now looking at him for DB so trying to get him on both sides of the ball this fall. Great kid. Funny you say that. We played Duncanville in the playoffs and that is EXACTLY who I compared Siggers to when breaking down game film. Very similar, explosive athletes. -

I have taught in the classroom for 8 years, and will agree with MeanGreenMailbox on most of those issues. Ask a kid to create or do something on their own....minds are blown.
