Are people starting to trust that maybe SL knows what kind of kids he wants to recruit? There are measurables kids are "supposed" to have to play D1 football and I get that. There is also something to be said about being an actual football player. Fine has it, Lawrence has it, Bussey has it. I heard SL speak at a coaches clinic last winter and he talked about team culture. That is why he kicked the cancers off the team. Team culture and finding guys to fit your system cannot be emphasized enough. We arent going to get the 4 and 5 star guys, but we are going to get the 2-3 star guys that have the "it" factor. The rankings might not be where you think they should be always, but there really isnt much difference btween a 2 and a 3 star. Just bored on a Monday!

No I am with you. There is no doubting this guy is solid. We all hate UTSA, but he is a great coach and recruiter. We need UTSA to become a solid program. This rivalry is good for BOTH of us.

We have 4 very winnable games left on this schedule in UTEP, Rice, Army, and Old Dominion. The FAU, LA Tech and UTSA games are toss ups but by no means for sure losses. With an offense that can move the ball and put up points, you are in every game. SMU is a solid team this year, and we played awful after the 1st 2 drives of the game and I think Suttland just scored again.

Talked to Jaquan Tillis today he said he really liked the UNT coaches and had a great time. Said they were showing lots of love. I asked him if he was going to commit and he said not yet, so take that for what its worth.

I think you are mistaken. This team let a 2 TD slip away and almost doubled up UAB in stats. UAB is not a start up program. They have players and coaches too. We were 10 point favorites. I don't know what you expect but this is year 2. We will will 6-7 games which compared to 1-11 2 years ago is damn better. I'm not sure what is with unrealistic expectations but you don't go 1-11 and then 10-2 in 2 years. Rice, UTEP, FAU, OD and Army are very winnable games

What MeanGreenTexan said. He said he is "willing" to play DB. He just wants to play. Very, very raw at DB. Maybe 10 mins a week during practice for him. I would think UNT would use him as an offensive athlete, but he can pretty much play anywhere. Kid is a competitor.

He can go grab the ball has great hands. He could play DB/WR/TB. He told me today he is going to tell UNT he wants to play DB here.
