I saw former Birdville WR Jonathan Dents running routes and catching passes with former players from Birdville, Richland, and Brewer. I remember him in HS and he was very good, physical, caught everything, and fast. He looked really good, smooth, bigger, and faster than I recall.
After playing some pitch and catch, to my surprise, he went over to the soccer field with those small fast soccer players. A couple of those soccer guys said they run 4.3. They were fast but I don't know. Anyway, Dents had no problem running away from those guys. The soccer guys couldn't believe that he was that big and could run that fast.
When he finished messing around with soccer, I asked him if he was playing college ball. He told me that he is talking to 3 schools (1 Big 12, 1 Big East, and 1 WAC) about transferring and has added UNT to his list after the dismissal of Darius Carey. Apparently, he hasn't talked to any of the UNT coaches yet but I could be wrong.
He dawned a red shirt his freshman year at Southeastern Louisiana. He would like to get back closer to home. It would be neat to see someone from my school playing football at UNT.
By the way, he told me that he's 6'2" about 215lbs. He doesn't look that heavy but has very broad shoulders and packing a lot of muscle.
Sorry for the long post. I just got excited about the possibility of seeing him in a UNT uni.
