I think this has been said the end of each season for a while now.

If there was one season to break the bank and find an experienced head coach with a proven track record, this was it. Don't know if anybody knows this, but Tony Mitchell will be gone next year. And potential lottery picks aren't busting down our doors. If at the end of the season, we decide it was too much money to spend, then get rid of him, but go all in this season. Benford is coaching like a hockey coach with a poor team looking for identity. Shuffle up the lines until something sticks and if nothing sticks, keep shuffling. Hard to find a flow for the game, and chemistry with your teammates when everybody takes 2 minute shifts in basketball. This was not the season to hire a rookie coach who is learning on the job.

Attitudes like that are why so few teams these days have a kicker they can count on.

The biggest win of the season will be the one that gets us into the tourney. Unless we go undefeated and lose in the conference tournament championship, chances are the Belt is still a 1 bid league.

I believe it has a lot to do with Nike. It looks like we purchase all of our Nike uniforms and merchandise like a high school team would, from a catalog. The Nike team catalogs can be found here: http://niketeam.nike.com/us/en_US/?l=shop,download_catalog In other words, Nike isn't making anything FOR us like they do for larger schools like UT and OU. We are ordering FROM them. Go to a store and compare the Nike UT and OU items to the Nike UNT items. There are differences in the way the logos are applied and the tagging among other things. We just order the blank merchandise and have our logo put on. Hence the difference in the logo between the coaches polo you can buy at the bookstore and the one you can get at Voertmans. Because we are just picking out a design from a catalog like any other team at any level can do, I don't think Nike jerseys for us to buy would even be available. This is also why Marshall can have the same uniforms as us. I think it would take the bookstore or somebody else with the license to buy the jerseys like the team would, but the price point would probably be too high for most. That doesn't explain why there aren't cheap replicas like in the past, but if I'm going to buy a jersey, I'll buy a Nike jersey or no jersey at all.

Just speculation, but OT wages for security and other stadium staff could be an issue with something like this. This is where the Kickoff Cookout is nice so you can go on the field and meet the players and get autographs.

Dude, of course if we beat A&M at home everybody is going to rush the field, I'll be the first one along with the rest of the 30k plus that would be there. Security isn't going to stop that and you know it. But, ULL? Seriously? I don't care what RV and Mac say. We ended the game on a good note, we won. And that's the lasting image for ESPN2's broadcast. If you guys storm the field, the attention turns from the win to people laughing at us for storming on ULL.

Ugh, I would hope that every school in the country prevents field rushing after defeating ULaLa. Only at North Texas would people be mad about not being able to rush the field on ULL.
