  1. The worst part about the Dodge hire was keeping him for as long as we did.
  2. RV's past coaching hires are a good predictor of his future coaching hires. It's also easy to say we're heading in the right direction when we've been down for so long.
  3. I'm willing to take the chance. We know what we've got with RV, sometimes you have to take a risk to try to get to the next level.
  4. Once again, I don't see anybody who is defending RV make a good case for the future of the athletic department under his direction. It sounds like the RV supporters just want him around as a "thank you" for what he's done in the past. Does anybody think we reach the next level with him at the helm. Anybody? We've been in the gutter for so long that people are blinded to the idea that we can do so much better than what we have on Bonnie Brae right now.
  5. What do you see in our future with RV as AD?
  6. That's not in the budget.
  7. Once again, I ask, who is comfortable in the future of UNT Athletics with RV at the helm?
  8. This school will not take athletics seriously until RV is fired. Yay! We're the 10 seed! Plan the parade!
  9. Nope. I think the delusion comes from people who think RV has a good eye for coaching talent. Maybe if RV and his staff had a clue, you wouldn't have to do so much free promotion work for them.
  10. Great point. Our marketing can't get any worse.
  11. RV doesn't deserve all the credit on the Mac hire. We brought in Chuck Neinas to do the search. Even if you want to give RV credit for Mac, that's 1 good hire for how many program killing hires? My question to the RV supporters is this, what is the future for us with RV in charge? We are at a more respectable level in terms of facilities and conference, but I don't see how RV can take us to the next level when coaching decisions are the biggest decisions he has to make now. God forbid something happens to Mac health-wise, and we put full faith in RV to find the next HFC. We have 2 basketball coaches under-performing, baseball starting and a HFC who could retire after his extension ends. Do you trust RV to make coaching decisions that will take us to the next level? I don't.
  12. Surprise, surprise...
  13. Why isn't anybody suggesting that the BOR or whoever the the powers that be are fire both RV and Benford at the same time? RV should not have a hand in choosing our next coach, period.
  14. Who's gonna feed that baby?
  15. The exact same thing could be said of us.
  16. Extension?
  17. Totally agree. I know we're the minority, but I'd gladly go back to the Dodge years in football to get to where SMU is in basketball.
  18. So we could lose every game for the rest of the season and you'd still be cool with Benford unless somebody tells you otherwise. Got it.
  19. What will it take for you to decide he needs to go?
  20. Yeah!! That damn diversity. Always gets in the way. Finally we agree on something. Diversity sucks and must be overcome!
  21. Andrew, don't you think we're overpaying for Benford? I mean, since you think the players pretty much suck, shouldn't we just hire a new coach at a fraction of the price?
  22. Worked out well when we did it last in football.
  23. You guys, Rice is a good team and could crack the top 25 this season. Plus we beat A&M and played OU close. Both of those teams should finish in the top 2 this season. Just wait until we get rid of JJ's recruits and Benford gets all his guys in here, then we should be competing with the Heat, Thunder and Pacers for best in the NBA.
  24. Anybody have any good info on how to get one of these? Ticket office didn't seem to know much yet.
  25. Most other schools the public can purchase the exact gear that players and coaches wear. Here, the athletic department and retail stores purchase blanks from Nike and put on whichever logo they want. For example, the Nike coaches gear and player warmups all have "North Texas Football" embroidered on. Those items aren't available to the public. Then the bookstore and Voertman's will have gear with multiple variations of the UNT logo. It's time we get Nike on board to mass produce UNT gear, so the fans can buy the same items the players and staff wear, like most other schools.
