Haha, after being fed a crap sandwich from this AD for 14 years, a loss to SMU will finally reach the edge of bedlam, yeah ok. Something tells me that if we do lose, the standards for bedlam will be pushed back much like how the definition of failure for you with Benford after 2 years changed when it actually happened.

And we have some fans that look for any excuse to blame the general public instead of holding accountable the employees that make hundreds of thousands to perform a job and deliver results.

Ah straight out of the ol' RV playbook. The blame 'em, shame 'em and they'll turn out strategy. The strategy that has failed every year and will fail again this year. The day RV and his Southern Miss good ol' boy marketing director are gone can't come soon enough.

I meant that more as in that we have many more problems than just W-L record. The decrease in ticket sales after the HOD win shows there are systematic dysfunctions in all facets of the RV administration. More wins aren't going to magically improve our marketing and promotion efforts.

That isn't a valid excuse, TV isn't unique to us. Every game in the league is on TV. The concerning number isn't the 4,285 figure for season tickets. It's that we're 13th out of 14 CUSA teams.

All these bad trends tie into each other and fall back on one person. There are no excuses for being last or near last in every measure compared to our CUSA and even our Sun Belt peers. W-L record, consistently last or near last, ticket sales consistently last or near last. All falls to RV. Bad coaching hires lead to bad teams. Bad teams lead to poor ticket sales, non-existent salesmanship leads to poor ticket sales. So on and so forth. This all falls back on RV and his complete inability to hire effective coaches and staff in his office. It has been this way for his entire 14 year run here. This trend will not be broken until the BOR decides they want to take this thing seriously and hire a forward thinking AD and staff. Time to rid Bonnie Brae of the lazy good ol' boys club.

Excuses. Simple, when the BOR and those at the top don't give two craps about athletics, nobody can expect the general public to care.

35-85 in the last 10 years with only 1 winning season and postseason appearance. And yet, somehow, the AD that has presided over this still has a job. That's the real decade of silence.

Hold on. You always preach "criticize in private" around here. These students are criticizing a university decision in a very big and public way, a way that made national news and in a much bigger forum that the "haters" do around here. You're quick to call out the haters here in this small bubble, yet you just blow off these students criticizing the university in a way that made national news? Why the double standard?

What??? Seriously??? 78-112 overall and his absolutely dismal and pathetic road record sure are brilliant and amazing. Props to Mac for being loyal to us when all these P5 schools are knocking down his door looking for his brilliant and amazing services. That's some good kool-aid they serve on Bonnie Brae.

Why not just tell everybody?

Since some people on here point to posts that approve of the Benford hiring as some kind of justification to keep him around, I'll put this out there considering that RV hires tend to suck: This is a terrible hire, it won't work out, she's the wrong coach at the wrong time. Another mistake by RV, he should be fired.

I'm happy he's speaking for free. Fox would have commanded 6 figures.

The 10 year contract he got was about as boneheaded as it gets. That alone is enough for Holder to be on the hot seat. Ford would have been gone a year or 2 ago if it wasn't for that contract.

Still doesn't explain how La Tech in little Ruston, LA manages to get more out of less.

Unless of course the people out there are smart enough to realize that these enrollment numbers are a measure of RV's job performance and won't endorse his reign as AD.

What is he going to do about it?
