  1. Tough day for the ladies losing 4-1 to Tulsa. Tennis is now 3-8 for the year.
  2. OU up 5-0 in the 2nd and in rain delay. Looks like games have been cancelled for today. At least we got two in yesterday and beat cellar dweller OSU!
  3. Tulsa won 7-1, still a good year for the ladies. I was really hoping another NT sport would match women's soccer and get to the CUSA championship game, but we have a lot coming back.
  4. From what I heard SMU cancelled due to a shortage of players - injuries. Apparently TCU came up with the same lame excuse. Sounds chicken to me. Both of these schools just know who has the best soccer program in the metroplex and cant deal with it!
  5. Soccer off to a great Spring season: Beating OU, Liverpool (WPSL) women's semi-pro team and tied Texas yesterday 1-1 at Dragon Stadium in Southlake - Great Crowd! Come watch the ladies take on the Baylor Bears this Friday night at home 7pm kickoff...should be another great game. Spring games are always free admission. NT Soccer Ties Texas, 1-1, Keeps Unbeaten Spring Alive Pineda Strikes In 29th Minute To Help Mean Green Tie Longhorns Coming off a hat trick against Liverpool Dallas on Wednesday, Karla Pineda struck in the 29th minute against Texas. April 5, 2014 SOUTHLAKE, Texas – The North Texas soccer team kept its unbeaten spring season in tact with a 1-1 tie against the Texas Longhorns at Southlake’s Dragon Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Karla Pineda put the Mean Green on the board in the 29th minute when she finished a feed from Rachel Holden, the C-USA Freshman and Offensive Player of the Year. North Texas went into the break with a 1-0 lead, but Texas responded five minutes into the second half with a goal from Jasmine Hart. “I loved the way my team competed today against one of the better teams from the Big 12,” said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. “Even though the game ended in a 1-1 draw the atmosphere was incredible. Fans witnessed end-to-end action throughout the game with both keepers coming up with some really big saves.” With the tie, North Texas is not only 2-0-1 in the 2014 spring season, but owns a 1-0-1 record against the Big 12. The Mean Green took down Oklahoma, 2-1, last month in Denton. NT also took down Liverpool Dallas of the WPSL, 8-0, on Wednesday. North Texas Spring Schedule/Results Opponent Site Date/Time Result Oklahoma Denton 3/8 - 2 p.m. W 2-1 Liverpool WPSL Denton 3/2 - 7:30 p.m. W 8-0 Texas Southlake 4/5 - 3 p.m. T 1-1 Baylor Denton 4/11 - 7 p.m. SMU Denton 4/18 - 7 p.m.
  6. Tough 0-3 start for our women's tennis team but they should bounce back. Lost to OU 0-7, USC 0-4 and Utah 1-4.
  7. North Texas jumped ahead of Texas, TCU & SMU in the NSCAA Regional poll, and is still receiving votes in the National Top 25!

  8. Word is NT women had clearly the better of the play in the second half and both OT periods.. Game should have been over during regulation, NT Lindsey Hulstein shot crossed the goal line putting us up 2-1. The ACC official called it back, apparently there was a mysterious foul on the WF keeper...what a joke!
  9. Some of the players informed me we're ranked as high as 35th - Nationally in the latest poll. Not bad considering the NCAA has well over 300 teams in D1 women's soccer. Best of luck this year ladies!
  10. Mean Green Soccer NT Soccer Tops SMU To Close Spring Season Andrew David Morris Hoping for another successful UNT soccer season! John Hedlund has done an amazing job with the program. Samuel Peters Great job ladies and MG nation!! Always great to punch SMU!
  11. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=207176263 Great fall schedule for the champs! Baylor, Oklahoma State, OU, TCU, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech...Wow!!!
  12. I believe several NT programs were well over a 3.0 this past year. This speaks volumes of the athletic department and when you throw in programs such as soccer, tennis and m golf also winning conference championships every year...it really is pretty amazing!
  13. Lost 4-1 to Tulsa today. We now have lost three out of the last four matches we've played, but the good news is we should turn it around tomorrow against unranked Wichita State.
  14. Tulsa lost a five hour match yesterday to SMU 4-3 so they should be pretty tired today when we face off against them. What do you think untbowler, does this give UNT the edge over Tulsa today? Any updates? I believe the doubles started at 2pm
  15. Looks like we dropped this week to 54, really doesn't matter. After the top 25, it seems to get very political and somewhat meaningless.
  16. Wonder when the spring schedule will be posted, would luv to see the champs play!
  17. Congratulations to the NT soccer girls! Seems like this sport earns a championship ring every year...luv the look of this one. Eight SBC titles - very impressive...lets now dominate CUSA!
  18. The divisions are simply based on seedings, nothing really more. The conference tournament starts this Thursday. WKU won the regular season championship/trophy, going undefeated in league play and the #1 seed in the tournament. North Texas tied for third in league play and gets #6 seed MTSU - First round. We should get by them, swept them at home earlier in the year. MTSU is down this year with a 10-22 losing record. Troy finished second in the league - This is who we will probably play if we get to the semi's. Troy swept us earlier in the year but it was at Troy. WKU - Who is hosting the tournament, regular season champs and #1 seed is the heavy favorites...but you never know! Best of luck ladies - The first Title is always the sweetest!
  19. SOCCER. Really not a tough question considering their past. 4-0 in the belt and in first place where we belong! Great job ladies, keep it up.

  20. Yes i agree, why let Soccer, Tennis and MBB have all the fun winning championships. Lets go VB, win the programs first conference championship this year - last chance in the belt! You can do it!
  21. Agree, very nice article.
  22. Agree, very impressive what this young team is doing this year. If they're not ranked in the top 25 this year, you can sure bet they will be next year. I mean really, do we have another sport up here that can go on the road against the 7th best team in the nation and play toe to toe with them. WOW!! Barrng injury, i can see this team making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this year!
  23. I like the way the girls are playing but just wondering if this weak non- conference schedule will help NT win their first Sunbelt Conference Championship. Noticed WKU, MT and FIU are playing a much tougher schedlue right now, getting conference ready. These three teams usually give us the most problems and wind up winning the championship year In and year out, just hope we're ready for them. I would like to see volleyball win their first title, especially being the last year playing in the Sunbelt!
  24. Speaking of the latest rankings, just noticed NT soccer games coming up. Oklahoma State - Ranked #3 in the country Long Beach State - Ranked #11 in the country Baylor - Received votes, top 25 nationally and just lost at Long Beach State 2-1 OT Great schedule girls, best of luck!
  25. Sun Belt Conf.
