I think that hind teat may be a little strong but lower middle is very possible.

No doubt that Chad Morris could be an OC and coach quarterbacks. He did so successfully at Clemson for several years with something like a 41-11 record. But it gets complicated. He is still owed buyout from Arkansas. I believe that whatever he would earn at North Texas might be deducted from the Arkansas payment. It doesn't apply to high school jobs so the $124,000 that he earns at Allen does not affect the amount of his payment from Arkansas. If he were to take a North Texas job I believe that whatever amount we paid him would be deducted from Arkansas buyout. Pretty costly to get to coach your son. I would think that we would have to give him a four year contract at a guaranteed salary in order to get him. We might still get Chandler though. I believe that he has a good chance to start for us in a year or two while he*s likely to sit behind higher-rated quarterbacks for the rest of his college career at TCU. Lastly, would Chad have to coach Ruder to start over his son? Ruder likely has more raw talent.

Seth is here to stay we need to accept it
GrayEagle replied to Tom McKrackin's topic in Mean Green Football
Let's look at some of his record: First Three Years Conference Vs P5 Non-P5 Home Road/N Bowls 23-17 15-10 1-2 19-15 14-4 9-13 0-3 Last Three Years 14-21 11-12 0-2 11-19 9-9 5-12 0-2 Total 37-38 26-22 1-4 30-34 23-13 14-25 0-5 Bowls We have been beaten in all five bowls by an average of 20.1 points Two winning seasons in six. (and that was four and five years ago) Some people don't adapt well to being a head coach. Some very good coordinators do not make great head coaches. i.e. Phil Bennett- 81 replies

High point of the Seth Littrell era so far?
GrayEagle replied to TheTastyGreek's topic in Mean Green Football
I do believe that we will have a new coach next year. We can't afford not to. There will at least be hundreds that will not renew season tickets with Littrell at the helm...me included. I like Seth personally but a new coach needs familiarity with what they are capable of and what players that his name might attract. I realize that the payout of Seth's contract might be a hill to climb but I trust Wren. He has been uncanny in meeting his budget. If anyone can find a way out of this mess it's him. We won't be able to pay some of the good coaches what they were making at their last stop. -
I don't understand why Navy would want to be in the Western Division. Their closest division opponent would be more than a thousand miles away. Navy can recruit anywhere in the fifty but it takes a special breed to want to go to any of the service academies. You have to want to be an Army, Navy, Marine or Air Force Officer. They have a three year obligation after they finish their academy. In addition, they will be playing in Texas at least two of the three/four years of every conference schedule.

Navy was in the East along with Temple, East Carolina, and South Florida. They will be joined by Charlotte, Florida Atlantic and UAB.

Well, Ann Richards was well-connected politically. I don't believe that he has any political aspirations. However, money talks and I would imagine that he has a loud voice. He doesn't throw his weight around like Richards did but I don't think that he has to. .

I have known of Buddy Parker and his Detroit Lions but didn't know that he played at North Texas or even at Centenary. The one thing that threw me off is that my understanding is that Odus Mitchell was born in Killeen but grew up in West Texas (Slaton is just outside of Lubbock so that might be his early residence).

I don't know but I do know who coached NT to its first bowl win and while he may have been born in a small town it's definitely not small today. It also doesn't match the "Peggy Sue" clue. I also don't have freshmen in my memory who left after their freshman year. I give up.

My guess is that the Western Division will be even worse for us. I expect that the west for football will consist of Memphis, Tulane, Rice, SMU, North Texas, UTSA and Tulsa. For all other sports Memphis will shift to the east and Wichita State will be in the west.

Chandler Morris transferred from Oklahoma to TCU.

Todd Dodge say goodbye to football forever
GrayEagle replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
He never should have brought a high school staff to coach at the FBS level...especially the Defensive Coordinator. -
I agree that momentum has earned Seth another year of contract but he must keep it up. If he wins the bowl and wins eight or more games next year then he may have turned the corner. If he lapses back into .500 land it's not what we need for the AAC. I'd expect that Wren has him on a short leash for next year. If he can't win in the final season of CUSA, he surely won't win moving up.

Blame 247 Sports. Farrar is rated .8450; Medlock is rated .8235. -
Wichita State paid us 70K for that butt whipping
GrayEagle replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Don't forget, we had travel expenses to Wichita and we paid to have their women come to Denton. There is also likely a large disparity between the attendance in Wichita and the attendance in Denton. -

Fear not! We're already up to #120. -
I'll take all of the favorites and give the points except North Texas where I believe that we'll win straight up and cover the point spread.

There is no way that the Talons can be 95. Back in the 30s and 40s there was a local social fraternity that was called the Talons but it has no relation to the current spirit group. There was a spirit group in the 40s and 50s that was known as the Rally Club and I believe that the current Talons evolved from that somewhere around 1958 or 1959.

I don't know about the relative merits of the two but I would call Farrar a speedster. He's on the track team and ran an 11.25 100M as a sophomore. -
No they are not but the cost of producing the vaccines was borne by Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson and I look on the mandate as a payback. I still am against the mandate even though I have had the vaccine and a booster. It was my choice.

'23 WR Offer: Jaxson Lavender; Lovejoy: No Rating Yet

Well, he had an offer from TCU and guess who that coach is now. Looks like no chance here. -

I saw one report from the accu-weather channel that said 60 and partly cloudy skies but they were doing cities all over the US.

I am beginning to settle in on K C Keeler. He's done it again; a FCS championship (WAC) and another trip to the championship playoffs which he won last year. In addition he could bring his Offensive Coordinator, Ryan Carty, with him. He was FCS Offensive Coordinator of the Year this year. He is also the quarterbacks coach. Carty and Keeler are both graduates of the University of Delaware. I would hope that some of the current staff would be retained, particularly the running backs coach, the offensive line coach (make Bloesch run coordinator) and the linebackers coach. Bennett, of course, has another year on his contract and I would hope that would be honored.

I don't think that ULL is the problem. It's closer to home and another letter down the alphabet...ULM. They're both in the same small market and La Tech can manage as long as they aren't in the same conference. It's hard to blame them. ULM has the smallest revenue in the FBS and should be in the FCS with McNeese and Northwestern St.
