  1. What's the deal? He received all six offers on the same day...
  2. Congratulations Grant! You're obviously smart and have a good work ethic to graduate with honors in three years. I'd imagine that you can get your Master's in the amount of time that you have of eligibility. I wish you every success in the classroom and on the field.
  3. Yeah, the only school with a porn star as their most notable student. On the other hand she claims to have made $50M at her profession so maybe she'll donate a million or so to UTEP. BTW, jonnyeagle misspoke. They do not have to be graduates; just have attended the university. Mia, however, did graduate from UTEP.
  4. I don't know but I'd sure like to find out. I read the article and the only Midwest teams that had nominees were Nebraska (7) and Oklahoma State (6). I am guessing that coaches from competing teams must do the nominating and no one from Nebraska or Oklahoma State nominated any of our players. Hopefully, someone will ask Coach DeLong for an explanation.
  5. The loss of Datraveon Brown may keep this receiving corps from being the best in G5. Bush, in top form, could play for anyone in the country. Jay Maclin, if the spring was any indication of his talents, will be an excellent receiver. Burns, an unknown when he came here, has worked his way toward the front as he was the leading receiver last year with 58 catches. I consider TE/HB Var'Keese Gumms to be a part of the receiving corps this year and he should be another very good receiver and a large part of the offense. If Jyaire Shorter has returned to form he will be another strong member of the receiving corps. Bryson Jackson was an outstanding receiver in high school (near 4 star) and I still consider dangerous. Damon Ward has been a contributor as has Khatib Lyles. The Nebraska transfer, Latrelle Neville, might easily become a prime target and Jordan Smart was perhaps the best in Division II last year. I have yet to see what Caleb Johnson can do as a receiver but he had a grade of .8796 as a defensive back so we know that he is a good athlete. Maybe he'll consent to play defense and give up his receiving hopes. I believe that he would be a starting defensive back for years to come.
  6. My favorite would be among Pat Boone, Roy Orbison or Phyllis George.
  7. I like this addition. In size, he reminds me of Torrey. He's a capable runner and receiver, also like Torrey. I would imagine that Patrick can coach him up a little...he doesn't need much. I'm beginning to believe that these PWOs will end up being a colored shirt...blue, gray, whatever. I believe that we are very near the total scholarships allowed for this year (85). We have some quality athletes that have been first and second team all-state getting PWOs.
  8. I agree. I like the gray but it only goes well with forest green IMO. Personally, I don't care for the black either. It's very hard for me to read the numbers with green on black. Even harder to read the name. Why not just stick to the registered colors.
  9. Done. Thank you for raising money for a worthy cause.
  10. Gotta love his dominance at the Division II level. I hope that transfers to the FBS Division I level. He looks to be definitely worth the chance.
  11. We may as the season rolls on but he'll have to earn his spurs in a pretty talented receiver room.
  12. Is the tournament a winner takes all or is the pot prorated?

  14. Is there a limit in the number of players that did not play here but can play on the alumni team?
  15. I agree with your offense with two changes. I believe that they will find a place for Jay Maclin to start. As much as I like Shorter (and I hope he is 100%) I believe that Maclin will be the featured receiver this year. Bush is the best receiver but likely to draw double coverage. Burns has earned his position and will have a lot of catches. The other change is more of an addition than a change. I believe that we'll run more H-Back formations than TE formations so that Gumms will be another big part of the offense. On defense, I hope that we continue with the four man front. If we do I would remove Kropp. I had hoped that Hutchings would have been the edge opposite Trieb but he fled for the portal. I'm hoping that Johnathan Pickett can step up and wear #11. Trieb wore #9 in JC so I'd like to see the 911 reinstated.
  16. Everything to like about this team. Congratulations ladies!
  17. Well, it seems that Grant Gunnell was the BOOM! that Luke was posting about. He has a ton of potential and is something to shout about. In his somewhat limited experience he has an accuracy rating in the upper sixties which is what so many have been clamoring for. I'm also glad to have the 12th rated Division II transfer, 'A'Mazin Richards because I believe that he can hopefully compensate in part for the loss of graduates and transfers.
  18. I don't think that he'll be available. He's playing in a summer basketball league in Slovakia.
  19. I hope that you do so well that we make your first name 'A'.
  20. Is there any way that we can become a farm club of the Cowboys?
  21. Remember a quarterback from that same HBU team named Bailey Zappe? Tell me that he didn't belong in the FBS.
  22. This will likely blow some liberals minds but Fox News has given Lawrence Jones his own weekend show (Cross Country) and he appears often in several of the other shows. Lawrence is a graduate of Garland High School and UNT Class of 2009.

  23. While I can't read the DRC, my short answer would be a yes. Some of the players that I believe will be solid are underrated or do not have a rating yet. That seems especially true with the defensive line and linebackers. I see a speed and quickness that has been lacking with earlier recruits. It appears that the defensive backs do not have quite as good film as the front seven but they can be coached up. Besides, Phil Bennett is more with the program, changing his yellow Baylor shorts for green (with Mean Green tops).
  24. This will be Davis' last year of eligibility and pretty sure Memphis won't be going anywhere. They're looking at four Level I violations and two Level II violations.
