  1. I truly hope that he makes it and then the Commanders trade him to the Cowboys or Texans.
  2. Scholarship or PWO? He appears to be a good addition but frankly I hope that Blake Fann gets the next scholarship unless he is totally agreeable to waiting (why should he be?).
  3. My bad about the video. I remember that the #8 kicker in the country was a kicker from Lawton, Oklahoma. There was some similarity in their names.
  4. Sawyer was a punter (the only one) on the spring roster. He was not on scholarship but he was the punter at Texas Southern who I believe was a walk-on or PWO for this spring. He was pretty impressive when we played them. Edit: Evans is still on the squad as a non-scholarship walk-on. He is just a punter; not a kicker. Not sure how, or if, he'll be used.
  5. It appears that he will be our punter for sure. Sawyer Evans was released. I am a little confused... wasn't Nguma also on a video where they said that he was the #8 kicker in the country? I thought that he didn't sign then because he wasn't offered a scholarship. Now, I think that it's possible because he likely may become both the kicker and the punter and Rauschenberg might be just handling kickoffs as he did at Baylor.
  6. I really don't think that we'll know until the fall semester starts. We have about a dozen coming that weren't here in the spring, including four or so who could challenge for a starting position or a second unit player.
  7. I don't know about an AAC championship; that may be asking a little too much but I do believe that 7 wins are possible as well as an Apogee sellout if we are running neck and neck with UTSA. But, if we don't get the sellout I'm thinking and hoping for an average of 25,000 for the season. Sadly, one of your wishes won't come true. Jyaire Shorter is in the Transfer Portal. I think that the defense is going to take to this new formation big time.
  8. I don't want to laugh but for every outstanding play he made it seemed he followed it up with an interception.
  9. You got it right on the inside, JD, but on the first listing you misnamed him Robinson instead of Robertson. I still find it hard to criticize Cam for this. He worked best in a four-man front and I really believe that he left because he didn't want to play the three-man. I'm reading between the lines but I thought that he might be a little light for a three-man front. In addition, likely a five figure bonus made him feel that he made the right decision.
  10. I don't know Cooley, I respect your opinion but 199 tackles in what 15 games is impressive to me. You've seen him in person; I've only seen film but the film I saw stood out.
  11. Brandon Jones combined average came in at .8703. I believe that he was cheated. Great speed and recognition. Tackles last year...199. He might be a few pounds light by the rankers standards but he definitely should have been a four star. Well, he'll just have to be a first team All-American. At the least, first team American Athletic Conference. Go be great, Brandon! You can do it!
  12. They won't be. Who wants burned bis-kits?
  13. Our target audience is #1 Students and #2 Alumni. We are either doing it poorly or doing it wrong because the results speak for itself. I wouldn't give up on the first two but if we're not filling the stadium then I'd try Denton County. There are 140,000 people in Denton and more than 800,000 in Denton County. Taking it further the Metroplex is more populous than Greater Houston. We never seem to have trouble getting advertising from the businesses in Denton so I don't see why we have so few season ticket holders from Denton (that are not alumni). They don't even have to even be season ticket holders, just attend a few games a year. I'm very hopeful that the sports teams will improve this year, even with tougher competition, so that should increase attendance but it is a slow way without some improved marketing and promotion.
  14. A perhaps condensed version of this article should be on Sports in the NT Daily so that no one misses this message because it is spot-on. Both the students and the townspeople should get the message but students should be the first priority. Ingrain it in the new students every year. Give away or deeply reduce the price of a ticket in the wing zone to elementary, middle school and/or high school students. I'm not sure how to accomplish that without paper tickets but the ticket office hopefully can find a way. This year the iron is hotter than perhaps any other. Strike while the iron is hot. Have a capacity crowd for the Cal game and promote each game with discounted tickets to certain groups such as Denton County cities, first responders, TWU students, etc. This first year pull out all of the stops to fill the stadium formerly known as Apogee.
  15. I don't deny that the Denton game didn't happen but I was at Loos the night that Bobby Knight lost his temper. I don't remember the year but I would say that it was earlier than 2018.
  16. We also played Indiana at Loos as well. I remember Bobby Knight getting mad and shoved the ball rack about 50 feet right into the desk where Randy Galloway was sitting.
  17. Unless Grant gets his injured leg completely rehabbed he won't play again at the Division 1 level and possibly not at any level. I really feel bad for him. I had hoped that he would have been able to do that here but it's obvious that he is a shadow of his former self. I hope that he can sit out a year, rehab the leg and hit the portal next year with video improvement in tow.
  18. The black jerseys remind me of the cheap ones that Darrell Dickey bought for his last game at North Texas and that's not a pleasant experience for me. In addition, it is a tertiary color not a school color. It's okay for shading or trim but not the primary colors imho. Use the black ones for practice but not where the public is invited. If approved, I wouldn't mind seeing light gray or silver as a substitute for white but that's just me.
  19. Err... I believe that you only have nine years of eligibility from you freshman year...not ninety.
  20. 54 Nwaiwu 71 Asenuga 64 Duncan 65 Blair 77 Moreka 13 Rogers 39 Adeyi 6 Ragsdale
  21. Well, at 6'8" he is the tallest and heaviest at 343. But this fall, he won't be the heaviest. Keon Johnson at 6'5" 385 will win that honor.
  22. This appears to be the starting unit... Trey Cleveland (19), Rod Burns (14), and J'Mari Maclin (9) wide receivers, and Christian Lee (84) tight end. The sub receiver is Jordan Smart (15).
  23. You are correct but I think that it think that their expenditures have to do with the conference. They have the money and I believe that they will spend more in the AAC than they did in CUSA. Furthermore, if they get a P5 admittance, I believe that you will see even greater dollars poured into that conference. It is a matter of audience. The AAC attendance should be exponentially greater than was their CUSA attendance. They didn't update their facilities either. I don't know if Rice has an IPF but if they don't you will likely see one built during AAC conference. Rice will get a larger cut in a few years that they received while in CUSA. Other facilities will get updates or at least a new coat of paint. Rice has almost doubled their student body from 4,000+ to 7,000+ so there will be greater interest and attendance in the coming years. They will align with Tulane, SMU, Tulsa and Navy making a third of the conference non-state universities.
  24. I wish that I could be there. I want to see outstanding players on offense and defense. I want to hear who has impressed on both sides of the ball. I'd like to see which quarterback can lead the team most effectively. Outstanding plays on both sides of the ball. I'd like to hear from anyone there...their opinion, Bret's opinion and especially Coach 24's analysis.
