  1. Yes, it was was Richmond U and as SE said they were called the Spiders I (like I'd bet many on this forum) listened to the game with Bill Mercer doing the play by play. North Texas' Iseed Khoury kicked a field goal in that game which still may be in the record books as the longest in our history. I knew his brother Isa Khoury who was also a good soccer player GMG!
  2. Gundy should appreciate the national publicity he’s getting because he gets to even talk about Fine. However tall Seth Littrell is is the same height as Mason Fine; that is, If you saw the photo of the 2 standing side by side on the sideline at the Arkansas game. Haven’t we all seen tall QB’s who play short? Honest to God, we’re not asking Mason to dunk a basketball but rather throw TD passes. Hellsbells! Some in the media are talking Heisman candidate for our favorite QB. GMG!
  3. Good Lord, did 5'9" Doug Flutie ever get this much "too small" publicity? How tall is Seth Littrell?
  4. At some point we going to have start acting like the kind of program that keeps good people on the Athletic Dept. payroll. I will be there. Wild horses won't keep most on this message board away. GMG!
  5. OU Head Football Coach Lincoln Riley's quote about Mason Fine from the SportingNews : "And so we knew he was a great player. His film was really, really good. I loved him as a player. Would have brought him here in a heartbeat. But when I knew he was going with Seth ... I was happy about that. I knew what they were doing offensively would really fit him.”
  6. Hugh Hewitt was a Mean Green fan for a few bright shining moments on air yesterday morning. It was priceless the way he was ribbing Senator Cotton with what some of you call “the Non-Fair Catch Heard Round the World!” 😆
  7. UNT Ticket Office phone # for those outside Denton is::: 1-800-UNT-2366 31,000 for La Tech game? GMG!🤑
  8. Without going into melodramatic overdrive, Mason is quite the American story some of us thought he’d be if we only signed him. Too short to play & now showing all how tall he actually plays. (We less than 6 foot tall guys are especially pulling for him).😌 Also, the fact that he’s just a darn good kid really stands tall to so many of us. I’ve been following the Mason/Jason story since they were at Locust Grove as I’m sure some of you have. GMG!
  9. MGRN said we have 450 in the Green Brigade instead of the 400 per title of thread. if the GB would double up on those energy drinks pre-game it would set in motion the kind of infectious spirit we need the crowd to start out with. Always agree with you, SE. on this subject. GMG!
  10. Tuesday AM This is amazing! NBC’s Hugh Hewitt has a national morning radio show on DFW’s 660AM “ The Answer” that begins at 5:00 AM. Before he interviewed Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton this morning he played the full audio of “the North Texas Non Fair Catch” just to rib Senator Cotton. It was hilarious!😆 Senator Cotton was a good sport about it all saying “it was not the best day on “the Hill.” Then closing that interview Hewitt told Cotton he’d be glad to send him the audio of the North Texas play. Funny!
  11. From the UTSA fan: "We all used to laugh at midget Fine initially but Litrell stuck with him through thick and thin and developed him into the best QB in the conference. Why was 5 foot 9 inches Doug Flutie never called a midget (best to my knowledge)? Hell, Mason is 2 monster inches taller than Flutie! GMG!
  12. Was Arkansas a good fit for Chad Morris? :) GMG!
  13. Same here, risinggreen, same here. We never saw anything like this in any era did we? Still envious of our alums who were around during the Mean Joe Greene era when North Texas had from that Mean Green team: * 3 NFL #1 draft choices & about 14 more who were drafted. SUMG once told me he heard Dandy Don Meredith say on Monday Night Football: "I'm sure glad we (SMU) didn't have to play those North Texas teams."
  14. Well, whatever! :(.......but if so we still got our 1 million dollars worth of publicity out of it. I was at my Hudson Oaks Walmart today wearing my Mean Green shirt so the pharmacist looks at me & asks: "Did you see your school run "THAT" punt return play?" Of course I said yes & happened to have my IPhone with me so I pull up the video and put it against the pharmacy window & the one who asked me said...'Yall come over here you have to see this!" About 2 guys & 3 women in the pharmacy run up to the window & watched it from my IPhone. They were all laughing once they saw what had happened. Never would we have believed the gold North Texas would strike in the Ozarks with that play which immediately went viral on the internet. Amazing! GMG! Beat Liberty!
  15. Sounds like to me from a quote from a UNT Board of Regent that Texas Tech may need to go to Plan B. GMG!
  16. Love that Regent's moxie. Coach is getting everything he's apparently asking for. I still think he's here minimum 6 years BEAT LIBERTY!
  17. Don’t most G5’s AD’s keep such a list? Boise State did as they just kept hiring new HFC’s who kept on keeping the Broncos in Top 25 polls. BSU proved that losing a HFC is hardly the end of the world. Personally, I think Seth stays around to see how much he can build this “monster” especially operating from an college athlete plant of venues that some P5 schools canno match. I also think while Seth is here our extremely pro-active AD & staff will want to think outside the usual box to enlarge Apogee so we can all experience what we did in Fayetteville other night right here in Mean Green Country. (See ADLER’s thread & reasoning on why to expand Apogee). “IT’S ALL GOOD! ITS ALL GREEN!” (FFR) GMG!
  18. Missed it. 🤔 Was out chasin’ SUMG’s beautiful new K-9 friend Gracie in his back yard I guess. What a day for we older Nestor’s! WHAT....A....DAY!
  19. Pepto Bismol? Just “Dad jokin’ that’s all). i think Guyton will be fine.
  20. Wonder if one of our coaches forewarned the official covering punt returns about the possibility of such a play?
  21. You follow your college football history very impressively, VideoEagle. I was at the Ridgmar Mall area Bally’s on a bicycle watching Dennis Francione’s team school the Trojans. One of my best friends out here off Bankhead Highway’s (SUMG knows him) son is a professor at USC. Would love to have him, his wife & A handful of others here in Parker County sit with our group who’d all wear green, of course. (Got my green on right now matter of fact). GMG! ❇️ BEAT LIBERTY CONVINCINGLY!
  22. Rumor has it that Coach Littrell will discontinue his coaching career & make a run for the White House. This tidbit from Unknown Source.. (Unknown Source has been very busy of late & has his own book coming out called "I'm Just A Wonder of the Wasteland" inspired from a country hit song by former Houston TV personality, one Utah Carl. (It's getting past my bedtime). BEAT LIBERTY U CONVINCINGLY!
  23. OldDenton types said Hayden (as a UPI voter) made this ranking happen for North Texas & again back in 1975, but Hayden could not have possibly gotten the Mean Green to that #16 ranking all by himself inasmuch as the other high ranking for UNT a few years earlier (1975). Duly Note: Darrell Royal would have probably been a vote for North Texas as he had a likeness for Fry & was said to have been an apparent supporter for North Texas to gain SWC membership---problem was he seemed to be alone with that idea. Amazingly, DKR upon his announced retirement in 1976 was even spurned on his choice for his successor at UT, one Mike Campbell. UT Regent Frank Erwin poo'poo'ed Royal request and rather chose Fred "Dead Head" Akers. OH THE POLITICS THAT TAKE PLACE IN THE LONE STAR STATE! LOL! For newbies on Harry's message board that era was the bellcow for many of us on GMG.com until we were almost convinced it could never happen again; that is, until now with Seth Littrell leading the charge ALONG WITH PREZ' SMATRESK AND THE BOARD OF REGENTS AND WREN BAKER. HAPPY TIMES ARE HERE AGAIN! GMG!
  24. Don't fret over the old lady's attitude. NorthTexasWeLove, that was just the moonshine talking. GMG!
