  1. GREATNESS! • Another record-breaking Freshmen Class this semester?
  2. UH vs UNT tickets: UNT Ticket Office: • 1-800-UNT-2366 ❇️ GMG! ❇️
  3. Coach Andy Mac & I posted this almost simultaneously yesterday & then we both removed it almost simultaneously not wanting to trip over each other’s post but...here ‘tis again!😆 Metallica’s Enter Sandman! How soon will it be when we do something similar at Apogee?🤔
  4. 😆 One of the funniest posts ever! Remember all of Mason Fine’s naysayers on this forum when Littrell recruited him? I do & will say a bunch of us were not part of that group. Let SL & his coaches run this team & deal with such matters because that’s what they get paid to do—we’re to buy tickets, show up & root like a bat out of hell for Khairi & his teammates. (Remember when we were all once 18-21 years old)? 😳 GMG!
  5. Is this Heaven or what?😇 Freakin’ Washington Post?!?!😳
  6. ✅ I’m with ya’, ChiefTenBeers2015!
  7. A new (much-needed) sound system? 🤔
  8. The great Bobby Morrow trackster of ACU Fame! We all loved ACU alum Bill Blakely. He was a card! North Texas 42 💚 💜 ACU 17 GMG!
  9. I would say for the number of hours each Green Brigade member will work their tails off in any Fall semester & for “1” (one) measly credit hour it would be nice when the IPF is not scheduled for athletics that their group be told of its availability (if they need it). GMG!
  10. Wow! A great kid & Abilene turned out to be a great city for his family. GMG!
  11. Most of us are fans of our alma mater’s GB Marching band, but with a few tweaks or just a simple entrance like the one in this video would do wonders. It would definitely stir up the pre-game crowd & bring tears to many eyes. (Well, maybe not that melodramatic).🙄 • UH & UNT it seems both have problems trying to fill up a stadium against lesser known opponents. MEMORIES. As a young kid & teen I loved going to the Astrodome for Coog football games & their Band Days. One year they had 13,000 bandsmen (or persons) 🙄 at one of those with Skitch Henderson as a Guest Conductor. Doc S. took over Tonight Show after Skitch left. I saw freshman Warren Mcvae’s first UH game & poor feller fumbled so much I lost count. He got that corrected & became a UH star. So many more memories of Rice & UH college football at an early age. 🔴❇️Would loved to have seen a game between UH & UNT in 1968–We had 2 future NFL #1 draft choices on the Mean Green DL. UH had a great team in 1968, too). Dammit! Love me some college football! ✅ GO MEAN GREEN!
  12. I expect a tentative beginning from our “D” but best thing about speed is how that can make up for some mistakes. Can’t wait for Saturday! GMG!
  13. (1). What are it’s specs & dimensions? (2) Will Green Brigade get to practice in it? (3) What other varsity sports who might use it? (4) Will True Greenblood engaged couples get to use it for their Weddings & Receptions? (Some venues I’ve DJ’d weddings rent out for $10K to $15K! (Daddy’s got the bucks)!😆 (5) Your own question(s)❓ ❇️ On another front: I was looking at Apogee’s architect (HKS) promotion page & description of their creation,ie, or as NFL Hall of Famer Gil Brandt called it—a Taj Mahal of a college football stadium; anyway, HKS has it seating only 29,000. I remember RV originally wanted Apogee to be 35,000 capacity until budget cuts apparently changed that. • 30,500 seems to be the capacity in most publications. Maybe 29,000 actual seats, but Lordy, how many inside all the luxury suites & where the buffets are set up? ✅ No matter what, we have one helluva’ campus football stadium that was designed for expansion on the Student Section Side. GMG!
  14. Me’thinks you are probably right, Don. I also remember you & Kathy extolling yalls trips to West Point, too. Such a historic place to see. See y’all Saturday!!👍 GMG!
  15. What some may not know is how FFR has spent personal monies & much time to keep the Boomer tradition alive & well at UNT. 👋🏻 We salute you, fellow alum & Parker County’ite!👍👍 ✅ GMG!
  16. A fellow Mean Greener & good friend has been touting BYU as an OOC foe at Apogee for years.I told him “we don’t have ample bicycle parking racks to handle their crowd.” 🙄 (Dad joke of the day—but why am I the only one laughing).🤔🙃 Seriously, there’d be Mormons all over the Apogee pre-game tailgate areas & they’d probably bring more of their DFW contingency to Denton than (maybe) UH will on 9/28. (Wouldn’t sell much beer, though). Bottom line truth be told is we all like the friendly banter with our opponents fans when they bring a few thousand to Apogee & it just makes for a more complete Game Day experience for all. After all, NCAA football is still of the entertainment genre & today’s students have to be entertained. ❓REMEMBER WHEN.....the SWC was still intact, how many of us old timers envied the “built-in” crowds SMU & TCU would get at their respective stadia when thousands of their conference-mates fans would come en mass to Dallas & Fort Worth? We never had that luxury in Denton in over 100+ years of NCAA football, but maybe one day we could for some OOC games. I’m beating a dead horse here & I know it, but what’s happened at UNT since Baker & Littrell arrived many of us who’ve seen everything in Denton except child birth never thought we’d live long enough to see what’s happening in the MG Village today. Never say never on further possibilities. Out. GMG!
  17. A HFC can stop the dirty playing unless that’s part of his Game Plan? Monken doesn’t seem to be the type, but he could have chewed out one particular player who tried to dismember one of our receivers. For over 100 years of which some of us are closing in on half of that number (& some of you well over 50 yrs. as Mean Green fans ); but what Ive noticed in my almost half century is how so few schools we ever play bring any significant number of fans, least of all their marching bands. The UH game on 9/28 will be a great standard for what UNT should strive for in opponents. No CUSA school save 2 or 3 will rarely bring fans to Apogee. UH could very well be a Top 25 ranked team once the Coogs arrive at Apogee—Army already is (for now). If Top 25 is part of our football program’s mission statement, we’ll need respect & votes from the eastern part of the USA. After the 1975, 1976, 1977 & 1978 seasons I thought we were well on our way up the NCAA D1 ladder a la a few former Missouri Valley Conference—mates but then.....things happened. Now will be the new golden age of Mean Green football for UNT students & for UNT’s older alums & fans—the timing of all this couldn’t have been better. ✅ GMG!
  18. Read on GMG from one of you that “In Wren We Trust” is actually talking with Army for future games which is great because they bring fans to Apogee & are a fun group to be around at tailgate gatherings & elsewhere. They are now in the AP Top 25 & that’s the kind of pedigree opponent we need for the exposure with New York & Eastern sportswriters. • Here is the last time we played them at West Point which some of you said was an outstanding & fun road trip in the Fall in a beautiful part of the USA.
  19. More IPF & more... GMG!
  20. Saturday AM: Sorry about lack of quality as taken by an Apple 7 while cloudy. • Very impressive site from Interstate 35-W
  21. Yet over the years for we who pay attention to such isn’t this how some of the “too cool for school” DFW Sports media treat UNT when maybe they think we’re getting way too much pub in & out of DFW? There have been a few over the decades who have been fair, though. Remember on CUSA media day in Frisco the goober who didn’t know Mason’s correct first name? The WBAP Morning guys have to be getting their TCU purple panties in a wad since little ol’ North Texas is even out’pub’ing their favorite school in DFW.....& beyond. I listen to them daily as I wake up & feel like I’m part of a TCU alumnus get-together. (Personally, I feel if we had had the facilities we have today 30 years ago & with a normal progression of fan growth UNT would be in the Big 12 now instead of TCU). GMG!
  22. Is the right answer—not long enough?😳😆 Tony’s cooked version are State Fair of Texas blue balls ribbon winners, though!🤭 GMG!
