  1. Dave & Hank put together a very good show. I enjoyed it because it lets Mean Green fans kinda’ get in on the culture they have going on up there. •••Interesting Interviews with Jace Ruder & K.D. Davis. •••Coach Littrell offering interesting player tidbits, especially about the transfer from The Citadel who was all over the field the other night. •••Defensive Coordinator Phil Bennett giving some interesting history of his days at SMU & friends he still has there. ••• Then AD Wren Baker had some interesting scheduling info & talked about a future schedule with SMU & others. ••• Good show on SMU week.
  2. 6 & 6 would probably do it for our power donors who’ve probably made the $1.6 (?) million possible as it is. All should listen to UNT recruits. Last night on the Seth Littrell Radio Show I heard 2 of them. They genuinely like Seth Littrell & none of what they say hardly seems scripted. That is worth gold in this new NCAA unbridled (thus far) world of portal transferring & NIL. ••• Seems one of Siggers HS coaches got drafted by SMU’s recruiting guy to talk to him about transferring. (That was not Siggers doing). I wish that would have been addressed at the time, but I think that ship has sailed. (Littrell’s friendship with Dykes would have probably prevented any questioning of such tactics from happening, too). Personally, I hope SMU eventually gets their 2’nd Death Penalty out of future similar transactions, but how long & how many smu wins before that happens? TURN EM’ INTO GELDINGS, MEAN GREEN! 🐎🦅
  3. You nailed it,TheColonyEagle.👍👍 In my 4+ decades I’m pretty sure I can count on 2 hands UNT staff who advanced from their present job at UNT to a higher level NCAA job. Not sure how we could get it wrong so many times since 1978, but we did. IMO AD Wren Baker will help us make up for much lost time if we don’t lose him because we didn’t do our part like for starters is—just-show-up? AD’s & Coaches don’t like empty stadiums. Even Fry said he wanted himself, his coaches & his players to play before bigger audiences. Show Time: Our borderline fans & students need to show up even when the weather is not a perfect 72 degrees with blue skies & a gentle breeze. I don’t think Wren will live in the past & adopt the old “that just can’t be done in Denton” mantra. He shows no signs of ever doing that. Our future couldn’t be brighter if we’ll just leave the past & past habits where they belong & all try to advance our thinking as a program on the grow & on the go. 🦅
  4. First, we might as well all get the NCAA past out of our minds because it will no longer exists. It won’t exist because of this new upcoming Super Conferences format that OU & UT’s Big 12 departure set in motion. Not sure the projected 12 team NCAA playoff even exists anymore. Read somewhere that that was now doubtful. Still.....to me the only path for North Texas to ever have control of its destiny or future & not have SMU keep looking over its shoulders (because they are) to see what we’re doing or to block us out of where they do not want us to be is for UNT to cast its future into being a “P5” Major Independent. Not next year or year after next but as a planned path to work toward & eventually get UNT out of all this G5 low-revenue producing hodge podge. There’s no future with all the chicken bones the P5’s will be leaving G5’s to fight over. Problem now is I don’t think the P5 powers-that-be have even established a criteria for G5 discontents (who want much better) & to ever have a path to seek a P5 Independent existence. Legally, I’d think they’d have to eventually create a criteria because otherwise they’d be saying no aspiring G5 school will ever be allowed into their Super Conference country club. Several AD’s at aspiring G5 schools who have resources, prime locations, burgeoning enrollments & who would attempt a P5 Indy’ status would in the future probably have many AD tele-conferences (with a lawyer in attendance) to see what possibilities there could be with each other’s schools even for a basic P5 Indy home schedule with each other. IMO, no aspiring G5 school would ever want to do any of this P5 Indy-seeking by themselves. Wonder if Boise State, Army, Navy, Air Force, San Diego St, USM (& yes) UTSA & UAB would want to better themselves? I think they would. P5 Indy Criteria? Wagering that a 40,000 seat minimum stadium would be at the top of a P5 Indy lists. It’s just a way for 10 or more aspiring G5 schools with 40,000 seat stadiums to say—Just try to force us into a meaningless, non-revenue producing NCAA oblivion. ••• UNT power donors would probably eventually hear from a very progressive UNT AD (we know one now in Denton) as to tell him to continue researching this whole P5 Indy’ possibility. 🦅
  5. Your kind of a being rude, aren’t you McKracken? I don’t like your gif. sarcasm at all. Tacky.
  6. Awe shucks, I forgive you.😌🙄😊 All of America is easily irritated of late. Hell! I heard from a reliable source Harry & FFR got into it at the tailgate last Saturday. He said it looked like Ali/Frazier 3.0! Glad I left before that Rhubarb took place or I would have had to step in & give both of em’ some serious whoop ass—at the same time! 😇🥴😊 You know, I thought I was above all that kind of thing & then “WALA!” I jumped you in a dark GMG alley. Sorry, Salsa_ Verde, I’ll refrain from such antics in the future. _______________ 🐎🦅 I really think UNT kicking SMU’s ass would do wonders for all of us. Matter a fact, I think a win over the Stangs would do more for all of us of GMG than SL & the football team.😳
  7. UNT—-45 SMU—39 Covid—8 Jace Ruder gets extra hot takes it out on SMU & Torrey shows Siggers what playing for a school that’s never been on NCAA probation looks & feels like. 🦅
  8. I read in the Summer online or somewhere that the fabulous Green Brigade Marching Band had 3 trips this academic year: ••• SMU, La Tech & 🙄(updated) Ireland next Spring for a huge Irish Festival on St. Patrick’s Day. 🍀 Video•••This is what 2021 UNT Band Day would have (somewhat) looked like if not for 100 degrees all afternoon & near kick-off weather while 15-20? high school bands were (politely) asked to go home to prevent heat strokes. (Smart move, UNT officials). The Green Brigade still stayed & put on a helluva’ show & their pre-game show stadium entrance was the best I ever saw in 4 decades. Proud of em’ all. (Sorry more tailgaters weren’t inside the stadium to see it). ❇️🦅❇️
  9. I have a reply to SMU & have had the same reply for 48 years for Dallas’ semipro football team that is actually located in University Park, Texas, & it’s———🖕 Does it amaze anyone else who was alive during SMU’s Death Penalty era that the NCAA still allowed them to officially keep all their “W’s”? 🦅
  10. All of you who are now suddenly PA experts (like every other theme on this football forum) need to grow some balls & just go tell PA guy Rob Coffey all this to his face— O Ye Brave Keyboard Warriors. 🦅
  11. He used to be the PA guy at the Super Pit for awhile & he was popular with the fans as I recall.
  12. 48 years of this...am I not allowed? (Well, I’m going to allow it, Senor’ Salsa_Verde). 🦅
  13. (script) “AND THATS GOOD FOR ANOTHER MEAN GREEN (pause).....FIRST DOWN! ••• Our PA guy will be fine. This ain’t his first PA rodeo.
  14. I displayed this on my IPhone screen. It should be usable all season.
  15. Well, we’re an Internationally acclaimed Music School & stanza is a Music term, right? I’ll do more research on this.
  16. •••Francis Fiddlefinger, SMU MBA, Magna Cum Laude, Class of 2001 •••PeeWee Herman, Lindsey-Cooper HVAC Trade School *PW Herman has a sweet deal with ACME Raincoats, Inc. Francis is proudly wearing his SMU cobalt blue iZod, but then he immediately gets into it with PeeWee Herman over a darned bicycle. 🦅 🐎
  17. Now twice spurned by the Big 12 for membership, SMU seems to always have North Texas to play Daddy to. Anyone else getting tired of that role? At 70 I damn sure am. 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 I’ve seen us green-saddle SMU 4 times since 1973 & looking back I‘m trying to recall how those wins just so revolutionized our football program going forward. IMO, they didn’t. I don’t think 4 MG wins over SMU in a row would change much except at DFW area office water coolers college sports chit chats. In Wren We Trust has to do what Wren’s gotta do with scheduling —& I support anything he does because I think the man knows what he’s doing which will eventually take our favorite school to the next level, but less SMU on future schedules I would support wholeheartedly. (I know—they just signed for 4 more games).😆
  18. Oh! Golly gee, DentonStang, now you have hurt my feelings—I might cry. 👶🏼 (Are we getting close to the “I know you are but what am I” level yet)? 🤔 That proposed SWC reconstruct will never happen because of schools like SMU. They are part of the group who helped to create & sustain all the forever Texas intercollegiate pecking order. It will keep that conference from ever happening & SMU would never be part of it anyway. They’d think “too many schools with cooties” to suit them. Biff & Buffy would be “so-oooo offended to have any of that group crash the party at their daddy’s country club. What in the hell would Grandpa Thurston Howell, III, say?🤢 I fully understand DentonStang’s warmest of feelings & sarcasm because I’ve said some disparaging things about SMU ‘s approach to athletics. Something tells me I am not alone. I’ve observed SMU for almost half a century & know much about its culture. I fully expect SMU will be the main reason the NCAA Rules Committee will eventually have to get rid of or add staff to 🕵🏻‍♀️police all this NIL “pay for play” business because—-SMU will undoubtedly be the one who abuses it the most—fact is, they are probably already doing that. Yet.....Come On Man!🤪 SMU once produced a Mustang football letterman & Texas Governor who helped ramrod payments to SMU football players. That kind of thing just permeates the SMU DNA & their culture. If they can find a loophole in questionable recruiting tactics, they will lead the parade to use said loophole. Sonny Dykes has already said as long as nobody gets hauled into NCAA jail, he’ll pull out all the stops. I don’t know of any P5 coaches who’ve said similar. You know, though, on the Hilltop it’s all about win at all cost no matter what the cost. Some things never change. 🦅
  19. “He’s got a hose for an arm!” 🐎 🦅Get ready SMU! We ain’t conceding——nuthin’!

  20. Did the refs think they were in Natchitoches? 🤔 Perhaps these refs read GMG & think we’re as arrogant as the HogDawg crowd over at BB&B? 🦅❇️🦅
  21. SMU is so good I’m sure they’ll be a shoo-in for the Big 12’s upcoming expansion. Say what? What do you mean those 4 schools? Now Las Vegas has our fans waving the white flag. Oh well--what the hell else is new? This is just another one of our traditions. Fact remains SMU will still be a G5 school when Sonny Dykes takes a P5 job where fans fill a stadium. Then maybe our favorite school will take advantage of that moment like we’ve yet to do in the past when the University Park Mustangs take a brief football hiatus. ___________________________ (wait until you turn 70 & see where the mind takes you)🤪 ❇️ SO GET UP OUT OF YOUR CHAIRS WHEREVER YOU ARE, RAISE THE WINDOW & YELL—WE’RE MAD AS HELL & WE’RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!———UNT’s next major recruiting step forward is for SL to hire La Tech’s main recruiting guy (not to replace our head guy by any means) but to join our staff & be in charge of our Ark/La/Tex recruiting with his emphasizing the state of Louisiana. If anyone hasn’t noticed the last few years, LaTech, Louisiana & ULM have doubled down on their Texas recruiting. We should finally be getting tired of that BS in Denton or— do we wave the white flag? GMG!
  22. Golly! How in Peruna’s holy name would we carry on if this thing were a real (bonafide) rivalry?😂 ❇️ See all you fellow & sister Greenies at G. Ford this Saturday evening. ••• Last evening was not the Green Brigade just outstanding & downright purdy in their new unis’? And then that Big 10 marching band-style triple time sprint (see video) by 400+ bandsmen onto the Apogee field for their pre-game show? Wow! Some of us been begging for that Big 10 marching band-like entrance for decades with 4-5 prior Band Directors. Dr. Cook made it happen. (Right, Silver Eagle)? ❇️ VIDEO: Here is the Green Brigade about 15 minutes before kickoff while there are a few thousand under the stadium in both concession areas & outside Apogee on “the Hill” tailgating. It was still about 100 degrees at this point. 2021 BAND DAY? NO DICE! COULD THEY STILL RESCHEDULE IT IN OCTOBER OR EARLY NOVEMBER? About 15 HS bands many of whom were passing out like flies in the afternoon practice were asked (for safety concerns) to just board their busses & go on home. Smart move. GOMEANGREEN! 🦅 BEAT THE GELDINGS! 🐎 🦅
  23. I left my section 209 & went over to the Wing Zone to take these at the last of the 1’st quarter. And then later to take a pic of the Green Brigade. ••• The lower end zone seemed about 75% full. •••There were hundreds of fans under both sides concessions areas.
  24. Hey everybody...Let's just enjoy the win and enjoy the morning, right? 🙂 (I know, what else would you expect from this baby-boomer than some Jim Ed & Helen)?
