A congrats to Coach Johnny Jones and the Mean Green team for their efforts last night. Listened to the game and it brought back some very nostalgic memories of decades gone by when I lived in (or closer to) Denton and you couldn't keep me out of of the Super Pit. A long time GMG.com documented supporter (when I've posted on this part of the forum) of Coach Jones and I've never listened to a post game show of his via the MGRN that ever made me feel bad be be an NT alum or NT fan. His million dollar smile and his postive'ness got me at hello a long time ago. Guess I need to catch the MG basketball fever again (and move 2 counties closer to Denton wouldn't hurt)? Pardon me while I take my Geritol now. WELCOME TO THE PIT! Had forgotten that one, CMJ, and didn't we (beginning with myself & your father's era I should clarify, that is those of us who were at our fabulous venue's Grand Opening) all used to do that yell with such high decibals; especially another special night (such as last night) when SMU came to the Super Pit and we had 10,700 fans spilling out everywhere hollering WELCOME TO THE PIT! Perhaps those days not far behind once again? CONGRATS COACH JONES & YOUR MEAN GREEN BASKETBALL TEAM!

Many points that pretty well sizes things up for many of us, GrayEagleOne. Now back to the MGRN play by play where Super Jamario has just scored a touchdown! -
I think once the fog and shroud of what we've had for almost a decade slowly disipates, most who don't keep trying to hang their hats on bottom quadrant NCAA D1-A football we've had most of the last 2 decades will eventually like our future new higher profile intercollegiate football neighborhood. What still sets me back a bit is how some still want to resurrect past UNT coaches from some of our past losing programs back to Denton as if they had played some kind of key role in giving us a Boise State-like BCS Championship Bowl or Top 25 program. And what was the Navy offenses national ranking before our game last Satuday? Just curious...

Good post, eulesseagle... Thank God Al Gore had not invented the internet while Coach Fry was in the midst of his "2 Win" 1974 football season, ie, his 2'nd season in Denton, right eulesseagle. You know (one more time here).....................I (and many, many others who never posted their thoughts for whatever reasons) gave Darrell Dickey an extremely fair 7 out of 9 years to see if he could raise us out of our annual Bottom 25 co-existance. And since most forward-thinking NCAA D1-A program have Top 25 football al but in their football mission statements, many of us were (I suppose) naive' enough to think thats what Mean Green football should be aiming its future fortunes. DD BALL ONE MORE TIME......All my own problems with DD as an alum and cyber-fan were not even always about his coaching or about X's & O's at all (and I will not re-hash all the off the field/on the radio comments or.........horror stories about off the field discipline problems I will never post). Yet with 7 out of 9 years this Mean Green football program seemed to not ever have Top 25 (or somewhere even close) as its goal, but rather recruiting ONLY for what used to be a SBC level of competition........... ............and then for our annual slow starts of going 0 and 6 OR 1 & 5 before we would make a miraculous run thru a grouping of schools most of us had never heard of 25 years ago so we could go, uh, bowling. Bowl trips that never seemed to ever win us DFW or even Lone Star State respect (and I defer to CUSA's non-interest in us even over the D.P. 2 decade-loser SMU and a Texas Bowl in Houston that even left UNT off their future check lists--all that after our 4 bowl run if you have not forgotten. So is it hard for some still fathom what all those unranked SBC championships did for us now? I thought so.........BUT..........in all fairness we did get a donation that would pay for about 1/10'th of the total cost of our Athletic Center. I repeat.................1/10'th of the cost. We are all mostly products and enthusiasts of the eras in which we attended North Texas I think most would agree, but had Darrell Dickey only raised the bar at UNT to get us back to what many of us personally witnessed during the Fry era, he would probably not be at Utah State today (or at least, for the next few weeks). If coach Fry had had such critics as Dodge has now (and you are throwing TDodge under the bus every time you berate any of his coaches before a first season has been completed); yet because of Coach Fry's 2 wins in 1974 and "IF" cyber-pseudo college football armchair QB/experts could have formed a cyber lynch mob to run him off, then the unforgettable 1975 season would have never happened and we would still only be able to call a near win over Arkansas in 1968 or one at UT in 1988 as our 2 brightest, shining moments over true high profile football name schools in our close to 100 years of Mean Green football. When most coaches detect a problem, they usually don't knee-jerk into a "during the season" quick decision until they let that season run its course. Outside of some coaches resigning before a season ends, how many times can you count the last 25 years of a HFC firing an Offensive or Defensive Coordinator before a football season ends? Hellsbells, even Utah State with their "zero" win season has stuck with their Offensive Coordinator now haven't they (and even with all the protest of USU Aggie fans and posters). Granted, we have defense problems most of which were inherited with players of which very little discipline was ever instilled in their day to day existence and players who were recruited to win what the SBC used to be.......yet you still cannot change any of this by tossing out statistics from teams which still only produced 5 wins over 2 seasons. In 50 years, all our UNT football media will still mostly only show wins and losses and that's all. BUT STILL............if you say you really support Coach Dodge, then support him unconditionally, project to how your support will be with all this when we get our first Top 25 rankings in over 30 years? Isn't it easy to believe that that is Todd Dodge's ultimate goal? If he doesn't think he can get us there, then he won't. If we don't give him (and his staff) the same amount of time DD had to undo what they inherited and build their own program, then aren't we being a bit unfair with this coach as compared to his predeccessor? I also wonder if Boise State fans spent as much time nit-pickin' over things that they had absolutely no control over whatsoever? GMG.com is like one big, standing-room-only sports bar in many ways. Many times many have had a little too much to drink and then at times, some haven't had near enough to drink, but we still all have our HSO's drink or no drink now don't we? GMG! ADDENDUM PS: Why do some persist to still make this 2007 MG defense like it had some real skins to hang on the wall from past performances, ie, that it would suddenly transform into world-beaters after 2 years of not being that at all? Seems the last real test with some still on this defense when it was part of a winning season was in a 2004 bowl game when Southern Miss showed us all who dared to face the reality of our situation just how far behind our football program was with the rest of NCAA D1-A or............how we compared to about 100 plus schools outside the Sun Belt Conference--our former whipping post in its first 4 years of football operation. This defense is what it is no matter how many of you think that they would suddenly become world-beaters in 2007 when they were not that in 2004 (against non SBC competition), in 2005 & 2006 (against SBC competition) and now 2007. Folks, we are just going to have to build a brand new bridge on a much more solid foundation than was left us. -
Statistic freaks from high school? Seems we have some of those ourselves who think a defense that didn't fare so well in the SBC in 2005 and 2006 should suddenly be statistical world-beaters this year, ya' think? BTW, how's that Utah State offense kickin' these days?
-
JayDub, you're right, but DD's last 2 years were not Glory Years and what kind of offense would DD have had this year that would have drawn the kind of crowds we had this year? Would DD's offense (w/o Vizza since he would not have have been able to sign him) been able to do much more than create yawns and poor attendance? Would DD's defense this year have done much w/o an offense? Would many of us even be posting anymore had Bobby Ray forced upon us all a 10'th year of DD Ball in Denton? The answer is.................no; and I can tell you many more who would have not been around and one of those being a fan who has been watching MG football since the 1940's who said he was "out of here" if DD came back. "Gray" is part of his GMG.com board monikor for a big hint on that. DD Ball is "slowly" being phased out in Denton and we need it to be--said it facetiously before, but it was a shame that DD could not be here to bottom all this out for good this season and then we make a new hire, but I only truly jest when I say that because we had to make a move sometimes and last year was not too soon. And JayDub, there are still many of us old farts (and many of you younger ones) who really do think Top 25 football can once again be achieved in Denton and we had no such mindset of attaining that under the previous regime.

Here you go band-wagon jumper on'ers, band wagon jumper off'ers and probably bandwagon jumper on'ers when a 1'st year HFC many of you supported in September starts making some of you start eating some crow when success begins to happen? Some of you act this way when Fry won 2 games his 2'nd year in Denton? Can you look past your noses to see that better recruiting classes have already started in Denton, Texas, America? Does a (only) 17 day recruiting window Dodge had last Winter to recruit a QB that will (if he stays healthy) re-write almost every QB record at the University of North Texas give some of you D1-A college football experts a clue? Yes, we have defense problems right now but don't most HFC's usually solve them in due time? What makes some of you D!-A upper profile program's college football experts think we are stuck with a bad defense forever. Do we give our present coaching staff more than one year to improve it while they put some of their own recruits on defense to do so? Why is so damn much being expected from this past 2 seasons/5 win football program now? I now defer to the bottom signature & ask some of you to do a gut check of why are you acting like your acting toward Coach Dodge, that is, before a HFC even has time to evaluate his 1'st season (which is still a few weeks from even being over)? I guess I had to hit my (almost) 6'th decade of life to understand all this, but I continue to understand why UNT football never improved thru the decades and FWIW................ it can start with the overall attitude of its fan base (and I don't care how much money you give because money cannot cover up our last 2 1/2 decades of poor hires, pointless college football in Denton where we did not beat "ONE" (I repeat...............ONE) Top 20 or Top 25 football program at the NCAA's highest level; and FWIW (again) 4 unranked bowl teams did not beat one Top 25 program the last 9 years prior to this one. I defer to the signature below...

OK, I'll going ahead and serve as the official cancer doctor, OK? Well, last night another well informed Young Gun Alum called me Court Jestor, so I guess the M.O. of a few of you young whipper-snappers is if you can't match a proper discussion with sensible counter-points, we now go back to name-calling on this board? Ask me why I really think I know why this athletic program is where it is all these years later if you can use this board and much of the vascillating of moods shoot from the hipsters as a microcosm of all our "across the board" UNT fandom. Amazing how far this program has come since we beat the University of Tennessee, now isn't it? REMEMBER JUST A COUPLE MONTHS AGO THIS SCENARIO? Well, it seems I also remember our local board experts pushing very, very ,very hard to get (what I suppose was a benign) cancer out on the playing field earlier this season; you know, the one that for whatever reason was a DD Ball All American defensive stalwart or something? YET THERE WAS STILL THE BIG MOVE ON THIS FORUM to get that player on the field of battle and Mendoza was just being a a bad coach & hire if he didn't heed the words of those on GoMeanGreen.com and let that player on the field, right? "This player just has to be playing "NOW" (no questions asked, Coach Mendoza)." Well, the UNT coaching staff did let that kid finally get on the field of battle (albeit he was out of shape like a few others of our veterans were said to have been once they came back to campus for 2-a-days last August). So did another GMG.com board-driven tunnel-visioned "we have all the answers" attitude solve our problems defensively? Hardly not..........since it turns out that the one many of you would hail as one of our early season "defensive messiahs" became one who with some rather mean-spirited allegations tried his best to not only ruin a HFC's coaching career, but also indirectly try to ruin the personal life of our Head Footbal Coach, too. Welcome to Mean Green Country, Coach Dodge. Still we all know how it is here in America many times, now don't we? You know, how the ones who are the recipient of such ugly allegations are (for darn certain) guilty until proven innocent? And then once proven 100% innocent with a complete judicial exxoneration (and probably even one from the local chapter of the NAACP once they decide to make a decision public--if they do). Yet tthere are still way too many who will perceive any alleged racists in this good country of ours to still be guilty, right? Welcome to Mean Green Country, Coach Dodge. Any other possible benigns out there that can tell us how 5 games were won in 2 years and how they could change all that with the Wave of the Magic Mean Green Wand in one year--mainly this year? And a losing team's fans that rely on statstics from a previous team that produced only 5 wins in 2005 and 2006 to prove some kind of point might just need to move on to a new subject. Who knows, in due time maybe this university will name other facilities from those who would dish out grief toward us all, red & yellow, black or white, eh? Welcome To Mean Green Country, Coach Dodge. MORAL OF STORY TO THOSE WHO KEEP SAYING "WE ARE BEHIND COACH DODGE ALL THE WAY? Well, if that is the case, trust him in all things that he is doing while he is still in his first season at UNT BUT.......... ..........you can't have it both ways with all this "We are behind Coach Dodge all the way but we just ain't behind any of his decisions or hirings." Welcome to Mean Green Country, Coach Dodge, hope you can just ignore all the oscillations and mood swings you will hear on this board from those who might be just a bit 2-faced with what they post from time to time? Have A Nice Day!

Lest we all forget, we're on the same side here, it's just we all seem to have different ways we see this program reaching the pinnacle of where we should have been long ago truth be known. Moffat, put yoursef in some of us older fart's shoes, we feel like we've been wandering thru the wilderness for so damn long now with a program that could best be described as a roller coaster (if you will). BUT...........I don't think I ever read much on this board (thank God) when it comes to calling out our players individually, though, since all that seems to be pointed toward our D.C. of late. The part I just don't get this year in MG Country and on GoMeanGreen.com is why a first year coaching staff is not being given the so-called benefit of the doubt, ie, the same time to make first year mistakes like every past UNT coaching regime we had seemed to always get. I will not post DD's first 4-5 seasons in Denton, most of you know it (most of us lived it), but many of these threads have those who most always subtlely compare a first year coaching staff's record to the the most recent coach's era, yet at the same time, they seemed to have forgotten how slow it took that train to finally take off and leave the station. If you post on this board, you open yourselves up to criticim whether it be fair or not, but that comes with the territory of having HSO's. If one doesn't have the "galls" (what Gordon Keith of 1310 The Ticket would call them) to express ones opinions about their alma mater and what they perceive could improve a segment of our school, then they should steer themselves far away from GoMeanGreen or they might just get their feelings hurt...........but as far as the question of fairness is concerned, who the hell ever said life was going to be fair in the first place? Actually, 'm still waiting to hit on the lottery, the Publishing Clearing House (Ed McMahon?)Sweepstakes or whatever special windfall may come my way, but you know what, none of that might not ever happen--but if it did, knowing me as I think I do , UNT would benefit from such. As some of my fellow older nestors, I, too, have paid a few dues sticking with this program while most of my graduating class (circa, 1976) seemed to have disappeared long ago. It's not easy being green to quote the title from the show on Robert Redford's Sundance Channel, but would any of us trade all the time we've spent with all this as we ((IMHO) stand on the edge of what could be our best times (ever) ahead of us? Not me, and as long as health allows, I'm in for the long term just like I know most of you who might still be reading this epistle are as well. Now, what the hell were we talking about in the first place? Mean Green & Proud of It!

[quote name='moffat' date= Vizza wasn't thrown the press wolves after his first game. Oh, that's right, Vizza is Dodge's boy.
-
No Todd Dodge ='s No Giovanni Vizza ='s A 2007 MG football team QB'd By Committee? Of course, we would have had a Top 20 ranked "D" with no Dodge, right? Remember the "D" that was part of teams that had 5 wins in 2 years? Sorry, I just could not resist to those who persist with this subject, but on the other side of the coin. Yet not a bad pick-up for the future of Mean Green football with the recruitment of Giovanni Vizza I think most would agree. Amazing how much was done in only 17 officials days Todd Dodge had to recruit last Winter. Might make some wonder what he could do with a full year? OldTimer, any new news on recruiting? Any names from yesterday's Navy game as far as whch recruits showed up at Fouts Field? I hope we now fully concentrate on defensive help from both Texas HS's and JUCO's to fill out our 2008 recruiting class.
-
You're right, Cr1028... Quoner, my apologies to you for my most rude statements and those will cease immediately. You are probably as good a fan as we have in MG Country and I will not get personal again. I suppose we all need to stick together since its not always easy being green. Mean Green football is a passion for all of us, and because of that its going to create some of what we've been reading on this board almost since Darrell Dickey was fired and Todd Dodge was hired. We all have our own respective projections of what ultimate success for Mean Green football will eventually look like. Some of our pictures are (perhaps) a bit more grandiose than others, but that has much to do with the eras we attended North Texas, doesn't it? Those of us who were weaned as NT students with Mean Green football teams that had national wins over what would be bowl teams today and a a few weeks worth of Top 20 rankings back in the day may never see our football program in any other light than that, and I guess that is what sums up my own personal expectations for Mean Green football with my hopes that it soon returns to such Glory Days and............. is probably the very reason I post (many times) out of complete frustration on GoMeanGreen.com because of what I've mostly seen since I graduated in May of 1976. If you enjoyed a brief taste of some of the best wines available, beer & pretzels will just never do it for you again. I (like many of you) have given this program much time, very much thought and money in past years (not so much monies of late since there have been health issues and since I started a new business that has been a slow starter), but I hope to rejoin the Mean Green Club as soon as this new business venture starts making money. GMG!

So just who is it thats gotten under whose skin now?`
-
Podnuh, you sorta' started this, right? Your response to a post that was non-threatening to anyone: There you have it - all upperclassmen on the team are cancers. Awesome. Speechless.
-
Q Boy, I've probably forgotten more about football than you seem to know about it. In fact, besides lusting after those who would wear jockstraps, have you ever worn one to play the game? Court Jestor? Go look in the mirror (with your clothes on). TAMU and UNT? Apples and Oranges...
-
Quoner, your name says it all. Go play now.
-
TTG, its not necessarily a question of lack of talent from DD's recruits, I think recent events showed there were things happening that having talent or good coaching would ever overcome and you can start with..................D-I-S-C-I-P-L-I-N-E? Earlier this season, when you had a (considered slow) QB from a SBC team out-run what used to be one of our defensive speedsters in past seasons, it would be easy to start thinking that just maybe even some of our defensive players that had enough talent to succeed at the SBC level may not have been using all their cylinders? I know, its easier to focus on one (coach) than a handful of players who may not have been giving it 100%, right? Not all of DD's recruits are talent-less albeit DD seemed to recruit for what used to be our annual "shooting fish in the SBC barrell" competition of thrown together schools many that were new to NCAA D1-A. Shhhh...........it's cancer.............Yet don't you have to treat cancer by cutting all of it completely out of the body? Well, I'm afraid much of this inaugural year of the Todd Dodge era has been spent (probably) much more time than they wanted doing such.. Was as much expected from DD in his 1'st year after he took Matt Simon's place? I think not and is the prime reason that Todd Dodge should have the same 5 years to go over .500 that DD was freely given, although I think Dodge and Staff will get their first over .500 season in Year 3.
-
Well...........just what is it that you tasted when you licked DD's boots? Hopefully, DD hadn't walked thru the 12 acres adjacent to my one acre before you started your taste-fest. MAYBE ILLUSTRATIONS CAN EXPLAIN SOME OF THIS? I wrecked my Buick and it didn't drive well at all the last 2 years because of its prior wrecked condition, so you are the new driver of this same ol' wrecked Buick and you are going to get dramatically better results? LIKE IT OR NOT & TO THOSE WHO STILL CANNOT BUY IT BUT..............We are still going to have to allow this coaching staff to recruit the kids they need for their system. Shit fire and save the matches, Darrell Dickey had 9 years to show us his stuff, that is, what he would leave behind as his real legacy as he insulted our entire UNT constituency in his last month on payroll. And FWIW............. much that is posted this season does use DD comparisons (albeit quite subtle at times) whether anyone wants to admit it or not. Todd Dodge still comes out the better in the comparison even with only 1 win and that 1 win coming with DD's last 3-4 years recruiting results. For damn sure, we are drawing better at Fouts Field than we did during 4 SBC championships and at UNT with our turnstile's past history, this is quite a phenomena happening now; hopefully, a Saturday game after Thanksgiving doesn't blow what some have told me could turn out to be our best per game average at Fouts Field in our entire history. Posted it earlier, but Todd Dodge will get this defense thing corrected much sooner than it took Dickey to have his first above .500 season at UNT which was in his 5'th year.
-
Dude, you are a DD Ball advocate and most every post you make blatantly shows it. It also show how entrenched you and a handful on this board are (and were) so on board with that "we never shoot for the moon ever" attitude in Denton (unless a thrown together consortium of schools most of us from the Fry era had never even heard was put together in a conference call the Sun Belt, and then the Sun Belt became yalls version of that moon to shoot for)? Well, it sure as hell was the former Kansas State connections version of their "shooting SBC fish in the barrell" moon, now wasn't it? SO GO AHEAD, MAKE OUR DAY AND...................tell all your DD Ball buddies to just get over it and maybe even consider becoming Utah State Aggie fans, at least for the next few weeks anyway. I highlighted the one thing that you obviously and most sarcastically added to your post but let me be the first one to tell you that one day you (and all your "low expectations/never ranked" advocates of DD Ball) will one day in the near future have to eat a helluva' bunch of crow because all of you (who strangely gave Dickey 5 years of your patience and under .500 football to "finally" hit his low profile nitch in Denton).... ...nevertheless...........all of you (how many now--about 13 of you?) will see a Mean Green football program that is not afraid to recruit DFW area high schools and will not visit Texas HS football coaches across the state with a "we po' but proud" DD type of attitude, and his coaching staff will also not be afraid to discipline football players no matter what race, religion or creed (instead of like a prior coaching staff who thought it cool to go out and get wasted with our football players on the night before bowl games).... ....and Coach Dodge and his staff will never have under the radar in their recruiting vocabulary, that is, they will not be timid as to announce kids who verbally committ to the Mean Green. Even a novice in human psychology can understand and see there is a marked difference between what this coaching staff is working to eventually get accomplished versus what the previous coaching staff seemed to never had on its agenda, rather than the agenda of "how fast can daddy get me out of Denton to the Big 12 with all these huge Sun Belt wins under my belt." I would say many of us look forward to the day that those who refuse to let this coaching staff even get thru their first freakin' year will suddenly (and strangely) grow very silent when success at a higher profile becomes the rule in Mean Green Country.
-
Well, I don't know much about defense since I'm an offensive expert but Rick........... ...as I look at the collage of photos at the bottom of all your posts, have I somehow missed an announcement that you are runnning for public office or something? Well, if so.............. YOU'VE GOT MY VOTE! PS: Give me a call when you have time.
-
ONLY...........AT NORTH TEXAS I sat in upper Section E last night in the first half & didn't see one Navy fan in that area, yet whose to say some of our alums didn't bring Navy fans (friends/neighbors?) to use some of their extra tickets? It was good to see what SWC schools from the past had almost every one of their games--a nice visiting fan's contingency. BTW, what did Rice vs SMU really draw yesterday? AND.................why the hell are we complaining here? Hellsbells! We had 26,000 plus fans at a November football game at Fouts Field and FWIW--thats never been done (not even close) in our entire history. And we were all watching a team that is going to get better with time. Mind you, it won't be the instantaneous "one hit wonder" time some are demanding out there, but in due time. One hit wonders? Aren't we sorta' finding out now that non-Top 25, but rather Bottom 25 SBC championship football teams might fit that description? Troy U is now showing us all at UNT how we should have been doing this all the time, now aren't they? You know, new stadium with luxury suites, Top 25 wins, speed merchant football teams, etc, etc, etc,? The last coaching regime hit .500+ in Year 5 and IMHO, he inherited better players for the league he would be in with the teams he coached than what Dodge has for the improved league that the SBC has now become. So here before Coach Dodge's Year 1 is even complete, can we just show a little patience here and cut him the same slack we all seemed to cut Dickey while he was struggling like hell in Mean Green Country to get his first winning season? BTW, Utah State is still winless and offense-less, too, for those who will be voting their "offensive" coordinator into our UNT Athletic Hall of Fame in the future) and don't get me started on that damn practice facility naming, you know, named for the one who produced for us all black-jerseys-gate while at the same time symbolically dropping his drawers to moon our whole UNT constituency? (And to quote what many of you have said numerous times in the past: "ONLY AT NORTH TEXAS..." I also bet that Todd Dodge will solve our defensive problems much quicker than it took Darrell Dickey to have his first winning season in Denton. Any takes on that bet or just more shoot from the hip free advice or criticism from local experts who really know their upper profile NCAA football since about 80% of you have never seen such in Denton, Texas, America. Truly............................trust Todd Dodge because he is the right man at the right moment in Denton and many feel that way. He has had to put up with discipline problems that seemed to be swept under the rug in past years. Todd Dodge is not going to sweep any such things as that under the rug (as he spends time doing damage control from the loose disciplined leadership of almost a decade in Denton. AND..............Can you imagine what attendance would have been last night with some boring as hell football; you know, the style of football that many times had fans leaving at half time cussing under their breaths that they'd never come back? We have officials at UNT making good decisions now as far as athletics is concerned, but lets let their decisions have time to come to full fruition; you know, like more than 1 football season?
-
Since when did running off 1'st year coaches, ie, coordinators before the 1'st season has even ended become so trendy? Lest we forget, Mendoza also inherited a Buick, too. (5 wins in 2005 and 2006 from most his "D" with some discipline problems happening longer than most of us were ever probably aware)? Just maybe as we escalate our recruiting to get us out of our past (almost annual) Bottom 25 co-existance, then we start getting the kind of players (across the board) that will also make our coaches look good, too? ONCE AGAIN............DD Ball went over .500 in W/L's in his "5'th" year and with that in mind can we cut our present staff just a little slack? George Dunham said it best post-game show on the M.G.R.N. when he said "the future in Mean Green Country really looks bright" but Dunham had to project with what he feels good in what he is seeing and beyond his own nose to say such. I concur wholeheartedly with George Dunham and I'd bet many of you do, too. Hey, we all wanted to win today, but lets allow this staff some time to tear down what needs to be torn down so they can build it right; that is, so they can build us something with a solid foundation that we haven't really seen for a long, long time in Denton, Texas, America, OK?
-
If UNT had its ticket booths and counters at the fence betwen Fouts Field & the Super Pit you could have added about 3,000 more fans (students) to the 26,000. As (somewhat) a nostalgic move, I moved to the student side for the balance of game, but I did take a peak over in the tail-gate area and (believe me) it was extremely crowded. UNT officials, can't we just shut it down after the 1'st quarter (or earlier) for crissakes?
-
A GOOD OLD FASHIONED TEXAS HOWDY (AND WELCOME) MIDSHIPMEN & YOUR FANS! Many on this board are U.S. Veterans from most every era including WWII to the present & I hope they post their own personal greetings and their military backgrounds (which will represents all branches of military service). To the person we are honored to have you and your entire Naval contingency on our campus and not just for the football game, either. We are proud of what you all have done (and will continue doing) for the greatest nation in the world, ie, the United States of America. Have a great time while you're in northern Texas, the DFW Metroplex, Denton, Texas, America and the campus of the University of North Texas until..........that is.....after the kick-off, of course. YOU MAKE US PROUD TO BE AMERICANS!

Whether we have 25,000 or 30,000 plus, parking right up to Kick-Off will probably be a buger-bear. Any parking ideas for late Game Day arrivals for UNT/Navy game? GO MEAN GREEN !
