Great post, TIgreen01! 👍👍 ________________________ 🦅 Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News Sports) “How can North Texas football emerge from obscurity? Boise State provides a blueprint.” 🦅 ”North Texas another Boise State? Why not?” (A quote from Norm Hitzges, KTCK 1310 “The Ticket) No school has had head football coach’s turnover like our ex conference mate Boise State but— most years they just kept on winning (& getting Top 25 rankings) anyway. Their Fiesta Bowl win over OU is still a bowl favorite for many of us. •••Scroll half way down this link to see the BSU Bronco’s history of Head Football Coach hirings. To me, It’s actually uncanny. https://cfbalmanac.com/fbs-teams-boise-state-football-history-records-and-database/ 👨🦯

Pros & Cons of the CUSA/AAC Realignment
PlummMeanGreen replied to shaft's topic in Mean Green Football
Not sure it’s still possible now, but in the past pro-MWC posters on GMG liked the idea of 4 or 5 CUSA-West schools going west as to have travel partners & so forth. Right now I see only 2 maybe 3 from CUSA-West when they decide to add new members. 👣 -

Pros & Cons of the CUSA/AAC Realignment
PlummMeanGreen replied to shaft's topic in Mean Green Football
Arkansas State should replace Wichita State. No “basketball only” schools. -
Well, we could say no to both, but this kind of scene might take place. “A RIOT IS AN UGLY THING! 😱🙃

No pitch has been made. One could later be made if Thompson indicates they want to do something now with new members. The 4 who stayed & turned down the AAC slowed that process. (When all read that any conference’s staff will be in Denton for a tour of facilities will make all this real). 💰•••Some schools out there cannot even afford the entrance & exit fees of some of these conferences. Fact is, Commish’ Thompson is very favorable to North Texas. ••• Our present facilities (with more to come) will get us in some conference now or in the “not so distant” future. Tier 1 academic rating will not hurt, either. We shouldn’t even worry about it. Our projectory is north in almost every conference check list Hint: MeanGreenAnonymous has 2 posts. Probably someone from San Antonio or San Marcos. ••• This bowl game in the video actually enhances our situation out West & the fact almost 40,000 Mean Green fans attended it against a Mountain West Conference opponent.

Neal Smatresk isn’t leaving C-USA
PlummMeanGreen replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
👍👍 _________________________ Another oversight is how close DFW & Alliance Airports are to Denton & UNT as compared to other places in Dallas & Fort Worth. Wishlist: I wish there was a major hotel inside the Mean Green Village as was discussed a few years ago. 🙄More on my wishlist: A kick-off return artist with world class speed like TAMU’s Devin Achane. (Now watching a replay of the UA/TAMU game of last Saturday). -

I read that about the roof on the UTSA fan forum. I also never knew “the UT Board of Regents in Austin” have much more say on budgetary matters for UTSA than you’d ever believe. -
Is Vincent Paige also not a good dude?

Yes, why is this on here? Be careful. -
If we’re talking a new head coach…
PlummMeanGreen replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in Mean Green Football
Sorry, fellas, but you are wanting a short-term UNT coach if you get one in their 30’s, 40’s & up until their early 50’s. I know, that quickly narrows the job search with that kind of age criteria. It would take a special hire, but by now we should know that we are in need of a special hire at UNT. Remember that Seth Littrell was 42 & in his 3’rd year at UNT when he had a Big 12 job offer. 🕺🏼💃
