At my age you tend to repeat yourself but.... ...what former Dallas Cowboys Super Scout Gil Brandt said about Apogee Stadium on a tour before it opened: " It's a Taj Mahal of College Football (and I've seen them all)".........anyhow, that was good enough for me. Still is. I only wish we needed seats for about 35-40,000 students, alums & Mean Green fans. One day we will, but not sure in some of us older nestor's lifetimes. We could fill a 40K Apogee if we played at least one Big 12 school in it every Fall. Think of all the Mean Green fans at the last 2 HOD Bowl games & then if we played UT, OU, or an Oklahoma State plus all their traveling fans? GMG!

Granted, but it showed we hung with a Big 10 football program for at least one half, so no need to say the sky has completely fallen on top of us. GMG!

To our doubting Thomases who think all is lost. ESPN Half Time Report North Texas......14 Big 10 Iowa.......10 👉🏻 3-4 consecutive solid recruiting classes & we could win these kind of games & probably have more DL depth when we lose players like Kansas State transfer & defensive lineman English. GMG!

Hey UNTexas, TCUFrog is talking about what UTSA scored against the Owls last night. Congrats vs Kansas Jayhawks, TCUFrog.👌I saw most of the last quarter at Weatherford's Fuzzy's.

I read few years ago where former Fry assistant and later UNT AD Andy Everest & his buddy former Houston Oilers HFC Bum Phillips were baptized one after another in a horse trough down in Fort Bend County. Both passed not so long after that. Interesting, this is a first: A baptismal thread? :)

That group of UNT alums might now be up to 4 (maybe even 5 by kick-off). My former UNT roommate said by all means get him a ticket (again) because he really likes the Apogee Game Day environment, especially as it was for utsa. Forget FAU! It's done! Over! No one has committed suicide last I heard. I'll be up in Mean Green Country this Tuesday to get (up to 4) tickets for the North Texas/ODU game this Saturday with its 5:30 PM kick-off. Meeting a fellow alum at the Ranchmen's Cafe in Ponder for lunch. FWIW and that might be about .02 but.....I am intrigued with the development of this football team---setbacks and all. Can't wait until both DL's are in the Defensive lineup. Maybe its this week for both? YES WE DO! We finally have all pistons running at the same time in Denton, folks. An upwardly mobile UNT administration & Board of Regents who see the need to upgrade across the board & are raising serious money (the Indoor Practice Facility as one example) to prove they are all about action. Easy to say that the IPF will be the 2'nd most important venue at the Mean Green Village upon completion. >>>>>>>>>> When we first started playing Darrell Royal's Texas Longhorns in the 70''s, UT students still showed up en mass against some school called North Texas (State). Who the UT opponent was didn't matter to their students. They still packed their section. Back then, UT gave us decent sideline seats and we brought thousands of Mean Green fans. Beat ODU! GMG!

What did you say? We still have ringing in our ears due to crowd noise from that last touchdown from Fine to Bussey. Say again?
-
Big if, but if we beat La Tech in Ruston, will they even have a path to become bowl eligible? They have some tough games left on the balance of their schedule.
-
After watching their game with WKU, ODU is not going to be an easy game. We need about 2 or 3 good recruiting classes to be where I believe Seth Littrell wants this program to be & where we want it to be. GMG! Cusa trolls on the loose (or lose) this early Sunday morning. One from UTSA already posted a classy thread. LOL!
-
No comment. Probably should have let him sit out the4'th quarter, though. GMG!
-
After watching their game against WKU, ODU is not going to be a cake walk. Their 17 yo QB is very impressive.

La Tech vs Southern Miss & Other CUSA scores?
PlummMeanGreen replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Honestly, I believe our young team is still developing & when we get our 2 in the DL back in full operating mode this defense should be much better, especially by bowl kick-off time. GMG! -
Any updates?

1 key defensive player whose been out due to injury & just this week has been trying to work his way back into our "D" & then our nose guard (English) eventually being OK'd to play coupled with ..............the continued development & coaching (of the offensive line) makes me believe by the time we play our bowl game this team's maturation from today's big hiccup until the kick-off of our bowl game will be most noticeable. Good things happened early this season for our team while we were still in the midst of development & we fans got all giddy about it, but the whole foundation of this program Is not even half done. We all knew when this season began we were not at the juggernaut or steamroller stage & today's performance magnified it, but both players & coaches now know what they have to work on week in & week out.

Too early. Remember Rice last year? You never know about this strange game as in (old timer talk)>>>> 2 weeks after we beat Tennessee we had a very difficult time putting, uh, Cal Poly-Pomona away!😳 (And we had a bye week to get ready for CP-P to boot). it is a strange game this football thing. -

ODU 31 WKU 21 3'rd quarter almost done
-
3'rd Quarter 6:53 left ODU......24 WKU....21 ODU's 17 year old QB Steven Williams looks pretty darn good. I like the WKU chrome helmets! I like the UNT chrome helmets as worn in the HOD Bowl. It seems we will have our work cut out for us against ODU, too.

The Next North Texas Daily Headline

NORTH TEXAS: A Team of Destiny Hangs 10 & Surfs Over F-ATLANTIC-U (with a tsunami of rushing & passing yards &...TD's)! Aint ever seen anything like it (except what happened at Apogee last Saturday) so I guess I have. GMG! -
DONE! With a splurge of votes we could pass the SMU receiver. GMG!

Odds Harrell and Filani leave for UTEP?
PlummMeanGreen replied to Andrew's topic in Mean Green Football
We are not alone. UH has had some HFC turnovers in recent years. Why worry about something we have zero control? GMG!
