down to earth prediction for this year
kalebschumann replied to Green Crazy's topic in Mean Green Basketball
This could quickly become a "rebuilding and reloading year" if we don't grab some wins early. FAU seems to be the Veteran favorite. Ak St is the returning champs WKU always seems to be there These seem to be the teams that we will be contending with. I just hope our players grab JJ's system fast and we get rolling quickly! -
I heard that Collin County and Tarrant County were being courted by CUSA last week!

Wow. I listen to conservative talk radio and watch the History Channel often. I feel like one of these two would have brought this story up at least once. I'm in shock. A scandal like this should have ruined any politician, regardless of political party. I can't believe I'd never heard about this. -

I literally had no idea about that... And I consider myself more educated than the average Joe on politics and history. -

And the millions of other citizens that didn't make millions, but have their own business. Go through your town and see how many locally owned businesses there are. For every large coproration in your city- there are a dozen or so small businesses. Today's small business are tomorrow's billion dollar corporations. Not everybody has to be a billionaire in America. But everybody has a chance to stake out there own claim, make their own business, and make something from nothing. How many times do we head stories about people arriving in American with the clothes and their back and 20 bucks in their pocket. Tons of people "pull themselve up from their boot straps" and live successful lives with that life style. I talk weekly with an instrument repair man from the Czech Republic who runs his own company and feels like the king of the world with the one house, two cars, and once a year new jeans lifestyle. To him, he is in the top 1%- living the American Dream. -

That scenario really got out of hand quickly. I think I'm going to join the Vaccination Party... It's a movement to end to corporate greed that stemmed from orignally grass roots movement that is the Monkeypox Party. -

I didn't know the color of your skin had any affect on your fundamentals. I think comments like this just keep the racism fire alive. No- not quite... -

Heckling behind the visitor bench.
kalebschumann replied to KellenJemeyson's topic in Mean Green Football
One of my personal favorite heckling victims are the trainers. I got a ULM trainer to completely lose it. I kept on telling her that it was her fault that the team was losing and stuff like that. I love getting into the trainers, coaches, and support staff's head. When I was in the GB at Fouts, during the march around the track I would heckle the coaches and players. We were like 10 yards from them! It was awesome. But Apogee is way better for in-game-heckling. I take personal pride in never having sworn during my heckling. I'm not against swearing- but I love cleverly heckling with out using swearing as a tool. I also love heckling so intensley that even the event staff and police in the area have to laugh at it. It's one of my favorite parts of the game. -
I think the Green Brigade and Cheerleaders might have something to say about that.

We can't officially tailgate at every tailgate... We're a no-booze fraternity.. So even though the fraternity doesn't officially tailgate at all the games- the members certainly do. -
That's so true. I have never seen good attendance in their stadium. It seams like NT gets a decent crowd compared to them at our games.

I am a member of a Music Fraternity. We tailgate almost every game (the dirt lot this year). The other large Music Fraternity also tailgates. The both of us do the whole tailgating expereince- tents, chairs, grills, games, and tons of food. Yet both of our groups shut down an hour before the game, and go get our seats by the band. EVERY WEEK! Some of the us would leave Fouts at half time to "hydrate up", but you bet they were back by 3rd quarter. Now -since there is no re-entry- none of us leave at half time. If you think Greeks aren't appreciated by the University, try being a Music Fraternity. We're are the red-headed step child of the fraternity world. We aren't allowed to get a house, and we don't get a seat on any Greek Council. And that doesn't stop us from being school spirited tailgaters and game attenders. The frats that tailgate with their UNT gear and fancy clothes that don't make it into the game are fakes to me. -
Except we've been yelling "North" and "Texas" for years... Let's not kill a tradition, even if it is having a hard time making it's way across the highway.

The more dominos that fall the better for UNT. -
I don't think that means we're a good road team. I think relative to our previous home record, we are a good road team. 6 road wins in four years isn't what I'd call "a good road team."
-
That's what I'm talking about! Realistic goals! I remember early in the season when people were thinking we could pull in 28-30,000 every game. It's just not going to happen. Like Eagle1855 said: losing + metroplex sports success = low attendance for us. It will get better.

I'm ridiculously excited about getting to know these new players and seeing how Johnny Jones reloads a team. He seemed to do pretty well the last time he reloaded with Josh, Tristan, and George. So let's see how this reload goes.

Beat WKU & MTSU then upset AK St or Troy then we are Bowl Bound
kalebschumann replied to Tree's topic in Mean Green Football
The title of this thread reads: Beat WKU & MTSU then upset AK St or Troy then we are Bowl Bound Rate Topic. But it should really read: Beat Ak St., and we can start thinking about bowling. I highly doubt that we can go to a bowl without an Ak St win.
