Not a fan of the 'wait-and-see' method. Shouldn't we be going over to the CUSA headquarters and giving them some Mean Green apparel? I just don't like sitting and doing nothing. We should either be talking to other conferences, or tell the Belt to get other members. Didn't we see what happens if you wait and see- i.e. Big XII nearly dying! I think North Texas needs to be proactive, either getting out of the Belt, or getting other teams in. Do something, anything!

Of all the teams in the belt, I hate WKU the most. I'm not too upset about them being slighted.

My school flew the flags at half mast, but a bunch of my students were asking why. At the end of each day's announcements are the "thoughts of the day" from the counselor. Today there was no thought of the day, and no mention of the significance of today. Disappointing.

A non-UNT student died on campus for a non-University related protest. So it only makes sense that we use a University room to hold the vigil! UNT, stop letting this issue continue!

As a teacher with students who weren't even alive for 9/11, I can certainly appreciate your post. For me, it's 9/11 that stays etched in my brain. But I will definitely be talking to my students about Pearl Harbor today.

Well put! We've sort of created that 'atmosphere' with lots of Green Brigade Alumni. Most of the section in the section just to the North of the GB at the games is alumni. All of us that are either still students or are alumni still close to Denton after graduation usually tailgate (and actually go into the stadium) for all the games. Part of the responsibility goes to the students to create their own little 'mini-atmosphere'.

So true. There is something to be said for the opponents, conference, and lack of winning, but this season I think can basically solely be blamed on the fans- not the administration. While I was student teaching- aka never on campus- I saw Coach Mac TWICE during the Spring semester talking to any group or club he could get his face in front of! I was really impressed! He didn't shovel out random BS like TD would throw out. His words weren't rehearsed, and I believed the way Mac was talking to us. If a guy who was barely on campus saw him twice in a semester, I can only imagine how much he was around campus. I don't think any of the attendance blame can be put on him. He did everything he could. And he's not part of the marketing and promotion team (not knocking them), so it's not his main job to get people out there. All that he did was clearly above and beyond. He has the right to be frustrated about the lack of people. An empty Apogee looks worse than an empty Fouts.

I've seen the full 16 minute video: -The police just wanted to remove the people that set up tents and camped over night, after they got those few people, the left -The protestors then follwed and encircled the police while they were waiting for patrol cars to come pick up the few protestors they had detained -They blocked the police from doing their job- they're job of enforcing the law -The police WARNED the protestors 3 times, and personally let each person they pepper sprayed that they would do so whether or not the protestors' actions were passive or aggressive There's no way you can defend the UC Davis protestors after seeing the full video.
