  1. IT'd be a shame to see him go. There are few bigger supporters of the Athletic Bands than RV! He comes and thanks the Pep Bands and Marching Band after EVERY game! He's remembered my name after hearing it just once, and always shakes my hand to say thanks if he sees me after a basketball game. Are there any other AD's at a school our size that are doing that? I doubt it. The way he handles people is top notch.
  2. I've bashed him before. I'll own up to it. He made some really bone head plays early in the season. Celebrating a 3 before it didn't go in, when he could have ran down the clock on a game we had all wrapped up; and going for some showy layup he missed- in the same game with time left on the clock when we were up big. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm not the biggest hall fan. Having said that.... If his play picks up, and he turns into the coach on the floor like you say, and he continues the gritty play that I heard on the radio yesterday- I'll eat some crow on it at the end of the season. Not going to bash him anymore since we need him, and his play seems to be garnering lots of compliments. Just want to make it known that I was a Hall-Basher, and I'm willing to be converted.
  3. Not that I'm a Cowboys fan, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here... Yates didn't get the wins that the Texans needed to get into the playoffs, and he went up against another rookie QB to get his ONE playoff victory. Yates played a rookie in Andy Dalton. The QB's Romo has gone up against, that I can think of off of the top of my head: -Manning -Favre -Was it McNabb's last year in Philly a few years back when they played? -Hassleback ALL of those QB's have either played in, or won a Superbowl. I'm not an Romo-lover, or a Cowboys lover by any means, I'm actually a Vikings fan, but I don't always understand all the Romo hate. Most teams would love to have him.
  4. I think we should for sure expect .500 ball at the minimum. Anything else I see as a bonus.
  5. This post I feel brought up a point overlooked. They owe it to the teams before them that stayed eligible for their NCAA runs. On another note, I've seen a few comments about their Twitter accounts. I followed them as well- and I certainly remember thinking that the Tweets showed signs concern. I don't know what to make of it... Just wondering why the Twitter topic hasn't been talked about a bit more.
  6. South Alabama OVER FIU... Wow.. Rough times at FIU
  7. Hold on... I just lowered my North Texas Flag to half staff. As a teacher that needs my students to be academically eligible- this just kills me. These guys have everything at their disposal. From tutors to the clout of being a Star Athlete. This is really too bad. Part of me hopes T Mitch just scores 45 a game from here on out. But seriously, he is going to need to really be Superman from here on out. Although, if he really was Superman, he would reverse the spin of the earth, go back in time, and get Willians and Jones to PASS THEIR CLASSES! Part of me sees the season tanking... 20 wins is now but a distant dream. And the largest part of me lives in fear of what will happen next year.
  8. Mock drafts for two years from now... About as useful as preseason rankings for any year. About as useful as Todd Dodge's playcalling armband. About as useful as Occupy Denton.
  9. That's the most recent plan I've seen too. I wonder when they will put out an updated version.
  10. If they crack the Top 25.. The pit should fill fairly well I'd imagine.
  11. I find myself as an IPA man. So many good IPA's out there: -Dogfish Head 60 Minute -Dogfish Head 90 Minute (WOW!) -512 IPA -Stone IPA Seasonal Beers are my other love: Winter: -Sam Adams Winter Lager -Winter Warmer (Rahr & Sons) Fall: -Sam Adams Oktoberfest (FAVORITE BEER EVER!) -Punkin Ale (Dogfish Head) Summer: -Shocktop Raspberry Wheat -Shiner Redbird Those are probably my Top 10
  12. I said after he won his first, "The first of many to come." I didn't realize the many part would start the very next week. The second of many to come.
  13. I'm not sure when the plans are to get the ball rolling on all of this. I imagine it will be after they build the track facility on the South Side of the Athletics Complex. It's my understanding that Fouts is basically only open to serve as a track facility.
  14. I believe the last Master Plan that I saw had two dorms, a parking garage, and an opera house for the whole Fouts/Parking lot area.
  15. I've seem him doing well in his 720 dunk drills during warm ups. So I'm sure we'll see the 720 come out soon.
  16. Who -1 -ed this!?!? I have corrected this wrong. That's a good joke.
  17. Wow.. This story made front page on yahoo news..
  18. College Basketball Powerplays?
  19. Ugh. I was hoping winter would kill the occupy movement.
  20. The one game I'm actually driving out to see.
  21. Man... My facebook was on BLAST last night because of this. Acting like it was the end of the world over a drink they have maybe once a year. AH! Now The Ticket is talking about it.
  22. I think if we had sunglasses added to the outfit.. Then I'd be in
  23. Look at this guy with the serious feedback! But seriously.. What a plus that would be at graduation.
  24. A large hanging scoreboard suspended from the roof. Even if it comes at the cost of stuctural stability. I'm a Vikings fan, so I'm familiar with the roof collapsing. Also, more dancers is a + Better floor seating is a + But that pep band.. Ugh. They need to have a more fanfare-esque performance. Seriously, change the way they do everything! And why are they always wearing blue jeans? We need to get them some spats, and green zoot suits. Like a REAL pep band would wear... You know, since we're talking upgrades.
  25. Is Tebow the next Seneca Wallace?
