  1. This is all under the assumption that they don't go the Alliance. But I agree with these options if they don't get into the alliance.
  2. A lot of people have been picking the TWU men's team as the dark horse of the contest. Glad to see you have them making it out of the first round.
  3. Why are people hating on picking up the "Start Ups"... At this point in the game, what other choice do we have? We can complain all we want to about not getting teams before the Big East expansion or the Alliance Merger, but that does us no good. The fact of the matter is this: -The merger is likely to poach off 1-3 teams from the Belt. We need account for the attrition. It's simple math. And who is going to replace these teams? Our best option is to grab start ups. Places like UTSA and Texas St have the whole Texas thing working for them. Additionally, LaTech, UTSA, and TexasSt add the possibility of making a geographically logical West Division of the Sun Belt. It makes logical sense to me.
  4. It's not a bad strategy. And it keeps UTSA out of the belt- which a lot of us seem to want for some reason. I think this is about as good of play as you could make.
  5. So did our win and USA's win lock up a 5 seed for us? Or do we still need another win or another USA loss?
  6. Raise your hand if yuo're heard of Savannah State, and knew they had a football team..
  7. Look at you! Livin' the high life!
  8. As far as I can tell- we're competing with South Alambama and Florida Atlantic for the 5th seed that would give us a bye... Who are we rooting for in the Fla Atl vs. USA game tonight? Additionally- how do tie-breakers work? Do we need to win one more game to lock it in for sure? Or is there a way we lose both games and still get the bye?
  9. Now that's dedication!
  10. I knew about Dunham and Miller. But I didn't realize that the Ticket was so stacked with UNT alumni with Sean Bass and Rich Phillips too.
  11. I don't think the main problem has anything to do with politics. This is the most simple study in supply and demand if you ask me. Our oil demand is larger than the oil production, that's why prices increase. The oil companies know this. Even though they are increasing the amount of production, it is (purposely?) not keeping up with demand. Therfor, we see a rise in price. Prices go up in the spring and a large amount in the summer, and they come down in the cold months. When do people usually fly to their vacation spot or take their road trip? The summer. To me the majority of this oil issue is supply and demand. The rest of the blame goes to us for not looking for alternative sources, not dirlling what oil we do have in America, and to the companies not producing more.
  12. Why is Denver's budget so big? Travel expenses?
  13. I hope it does get published.
  14. Win out against the three teams above us in the standings- and two of the games are away... That's going to be really really tough.
  15. Maybe now all the threads about some school from Mississippi stealing him from us will go away.
  16. To me, the geographical benefits of a new conference is worth it! I'm glad somebody else agrees on just the location aspect of it.
  17. I'm a retired member... I'll see what magic I can work for you though Thor. There's a Wind Symphony concert also tomorrow night at 7:30, and the gf will be performing. So I may just run over for the pregame and first part of the game. I'll look for you Thor if I get some.
  18. I just heard the ticket ticker talking about all the drugs involved with the whole order... It's basically all of them.
  19. I don't know about any of the superiority issues, 1AA, or academic issues- but I do know that traveling to San Marcos and San Antonio are actually possibilities for me. Going to Louisianna, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee are not options for me. So purely from a travel point of view- I'm in favor of UTSA and Texas State. I'm going to watch UNT play no matter what their level of competition is. I get just as stoked for an NT game against Texas Pan-American as I do any other. I think I'd feel the same way about football. I'll let the people that all the details work out the rest. But for the record, from a purely geographical convenience point of view, I'm in favor of UTSA and Texas State.
  20. Minus the hundreds of non-basketball events that it holds every year! It's not just a building for basketball games. And when they built it, I'm sure they knew they wouldn't always fill it. I'm sure they had graduation, orientation, and concerts in mind for the venue.
  21. I was thinking that too. I'm wondering where the stab at Dodge is though? Missing that signature reference to the dark years... But in all seriousness, it's time for these types of articles to be flowing from all the Denton folk!
  22. It's going to take more than a stoke to get Coach Mac down!
