A lot of current students and recent alumni tailgate on the dirt lot to the west of the stadium. I love tailgating there! It's 10 bucks to park their if you buy before the day of, so that's pretty sweet. I also love tailgating less than 100yrds away from the front gate. Where else can you do that in college football? Not many places.

It's kind of a standard thing in marching band.

Do you watch the half time shows? Every single show has a drum break in it.

Go Mean Green?

I am making some corn hole boards, and I want to make them North Texas themed (obiously). I know a guy that can make decals for my boards. Would anybody be able to email me some high resolution images of the SOW Eagle or the "North Texas" and "Mean Green" logos in the 'North Texas-ey' font?

This game should at least be on ESPN3 you would think.

Think his 58 yard TD made a case for him not to be cut? Or has the decision for him to be on practice squad been known? I really hopes he has a shot at staying on the team.

This isn't college where the athletic programs generate enough millions of dollars that they have enough to spend on other kids. Sure, our very own Phunky Phresh Basketball band is funded by the athletic department, but the GB isn't. Most high school athletic programs have new uniforms to buy, new helmets to buy, charter busses to rent, new name brand cleates to buy, and fancy jumbo trons to put in before a single penny ever even has the smallest chance in a million years of going to the HS arts program. The only time I've ever heard of HS Athletics paying for band stuff is when the band budget got cut, and they wouldn't have been able to go to an away game. Athletics magically found some money to take care of that. I love big time football and fancy stadiums- but lets not kid ourselves by thinking the 'surplus' goes to the arts. In HS football, there is never 'surplus'.

As both of the Marching Band Directors are mentors of mine (and they're friends too)... I would not want to miss that first half-time between the two bands. It will literally be one of the most epic half times ever.

Will the conference want one of its older members to be the "swing" member?

That is so true. I get the same response! You'd think we'd WANT our brand out there! How can we be the "Green Light to Greatness" if nobody ever sees our Green Light!?!?!

Yep. The stadium is built, all of our coaches are hired, Tony is staying, and we've got a new conference. It's about to get pretty dead around here.
