  1. American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco said Friday he will “vigorously” oppose a College Football Playoff expansion model that “protects” Power Five leagues with automatic access for only their champions plus one. "I don't want to see a system that would reward privilege for the sake of privilege," Aresco said. The CFP management committee, comprised of 10 Bowl Subdivision conference commissioners and Notre Dame's athletic director, met last week in Dallas to again discuss growing the playoff from its current four-team field. The group needs to come to a unanimous consensus on a new format before expansion can move forward. While even one dissenter can hold up the process, Aresco is confident he is not alone. read more: https://news.yahoo.com/aac-commish-vigorously-opposed-p5-173632162.html
  2. Love his passion and energy. Tech got a good one and a guy that can really give a good speech!
  3. Only 2 Texas players on the current Va Tech roster: https://hokiesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/justin-fuente/2514
  4. We need a guy with Texas ties. Fuente does not have these especially coming from Va Tech. Not saying he couldn’t be a good hire but these things must be taken into consideration.
  5. BILLY NAPIER CURRENT POSITION, SEASON: Louisiana head coach, fourth. AGE; HOMETOWN: 42 (Born July 21, 1979); Chatsworth, Georgia. SALARY: $2 million. RECORD: 36-12 overall, 8-1 this season, team ranked No. 24 AP. WHAT ARE THE ODDS? UL won its fourth straight SBC West title, edging Georgia State 21-17. Very good coach, but needs to take lower-level Power 5 job first. Odds 30-1. NEXT GAME: Saturday at Troy, 2:30 p.m., ESPN+. DAVE ARANDA CURRENT POSITION, SEASON: Baylor head coach, second. AGE; HOMETOWN: 45 (Born Sept. 29, 1976); Redlands, California. SALARY: N/A*. RECORD: 9-9 overall, 7-2 this season, team ranked No. 18 AP. WHAT ARE THE ODDS? A 30-28 loss to TCU, dropping Aranda’s career record to 9-9, reminds you how small a sample size he has as a head coach. Odds 20-1. NEXT GAME: Saturday vs. Oklahoma, 11 a.m., Fox. read more: https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_f3e807bc-40ea-11ec-88eb-1ffe08d0d6f2.html

  7. Fun to see the young pups get in the action and get fed.
  8. McBride is cold need to get the ball to others.
  9. Have no doubt that Graham could come right in and change this place quickly. Dude can recruit and wins. My only issue is how do we keep him from jumping to the next gig. A big buyout might solve this. My fear is that we will “settle” for a guy that is easier to “manage” for the AD.
  10. If Seth wins out and wins the bowl game he’s back period. I think we need to come tp grips with this. We would be a laughing stock for firing a coach that won a bowl. also there are so many openings this season that we won’t get good value for our money. Better to push this to next season. Will also allow us to complete the athletic center renovation.
  11. What if we let Seth stay at a pay cut and rehired all of the assistants? It would allow us to renovate the athletic center which would help in recruiting. It also would allow us to save some more money for the next hire.
  12. Both looking pretty good. Will be tough matches for us.
  13. You sense a change in the winds, as if momentum is starting to shift behind Seth. Could it be that Littrell has blossomed late in his career at UNT? What if he leads us to victory for the rest of the games? How should we handle this sensitive situation?
