  5. The South Alabama football team held their first practice of fall camp in earnest on Wednesday under the leadership of first-year Jaguar head coach Major Applewhite. Applewhite was selected to assume the position after the departure of Kane Wommack. Applewhite, who served as offensive coordinator in all three seasons under coach Wommack, was a natural fit for the position. Coach Applewhite had previous head coaching experience at Houston where he went 15-11 during his two seasons at the helm. Between Houston and USA, he served as an analyst on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama. He also served in various coaching positions including offensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Texas over the course of five seasons (2008-13) with Mack Brown. His first stint at Alabama was only one season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2007. Coach Applewhite and his staff worked hard in the offseason to recruit and fill positions on the roster that either graduated or transferred. His hiring helped to solidify a number of players who tested the waters in the transfer portal after the announcement of Wommack’s departure. But they also brought in a number of player via the portal as well. Applewhite, who spoke after practice, said that he was pleased with the retention the players demonstrated from spring and summer workouts. Read more: https://www.thunderjags.com

  7. It is not dead but definitely less excited than in the past. I think NIL is a part but also people are not very excited about Morris. He came in and said we were already good and then it turned out he was wrong. I really hope he does better but at this point how is he any better than what Seth was?
  8. Welcome! Look forward to learning more about your program.
  9. Having a very hard time convincing my friends to renew season tickets and tailgate this season. This NIL has killed my enthusiasm for football. I still think we can be good in basketball because it takes fewer players. It pains me to say this. It truly does.
  10. Anyone drank this yet? I like a blonde so long as it doesn’t have that skunky smell and taste.
  11. Interesting but not sure this is football related.
  12. Hannah was helpful for me as well.
  13. Solid post. Just don’t feel like the recruiting puzzle has been figured out by this staff.
  14. Am I the only one who continues to feel sadness about this death?
  15. Excited but it won’t be for long sadly because of NIL.
  16. They need to take those pics down. They had a terrible turnout.
  17. He did not paste in its entirety to my recollection.
  18. They need to advertise better. Noone even knew about it.
