  1. Amid the latest push for college football expansion and conference realignment, it was thought that ACC teams would stay put because of the league's air-tight grant of rights agreement that doesn't expire until 2036, but now some schools could be looking for a way out, according to a report from SI insider Ross Dellenger. Seven current ACC members — Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, Miami, NC State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech — have met in private to determine how unbreakable the conference's current agreement really is. With all the movement taking place around the country, those schools appear to be of the opinion that they can get a better deal somewhere else, with Dellenger revealing that the schools believe their membership in the ACC to be "an untenable situation." read more: https://www.yardbarker.com/general_sports/articles/college_football_expansion_7_more_acc_teams_now_exploring_options/s1_17022_38819403
  2. Yes the Houston connection is always big. Has anyone else in Houston lately noticed all the UNT billboards and the new marketing campaign? Much better than anything I have seen them do in the past. Impressed.
  3. Just trying to think this whole portal and NIL thing through.
  4. I respect him for making the team, but this guy was always a big time practice player. When the lights go on he will become what he has always been. My prediction is he will not make the team I am sad to say.
  5. Definitely Gonzalez!
  6. Wow! This is a very impressive pickup indeed. 👏
  7. Listen to me. We can't base anything on Morris' track record at a lower level school like UIW. This is the AAC! This is a conference that had a member in the 4 team playoff. I get tired of everyone saying well they lost Houston and UCF etc. Good programs but so is Tulane. It boils down to this, we never won the C-USA in football. Now is that due to Littrell's incompetence or just the historical struggles of the program itself? I really do believe Littrell was an absolute bust but others like @Brett Vito think we should have kept him here forever. We will find out soon enough but to think we could be in the upper half of this conference with all the portal defections and no QB is pretty wishful thinking.
  8. I think you have to lock them into at least a 4-5 deal but you won’t be able to do much more than that as everyone wants to move up.
  9. They are a natural fit geographically and their budget would be at the very top. If we are serious about being a major conference player shouldn’t we consider them even with their warts? Judy is licking her lips on what they are going to do for C-USA this season. Why not poach them?
  10. I used to see us somewhere in the top 3rd but now am beginning to worry with the defections if we will make the top half. Also SMUt and Tulane are adding a ton of portal talent.
  11. Good take. I enjoy them all as well. We are blessed to have them all covering the program.
  12. Just a deeply saddening outcome for the season. Terrible officiating but nit good that it had to come down to one call. DeLong will need to rebuild the team confidence after this setback. Still a decent season despite the ending.
  13. This guy is my sleeper for next season. I think his lack of a supporting cast at UTSA hid some of his abilities. Welcome aboard Buggs!
  14. North Texas LB Larry Nixon pays visit to Auburn After hauling in four key players from the transfer portal over the last two weeks, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze mentioned that he would like to add another linebacker before the 2023 season begins. He may be well on his way to making that dream a reality, as one of the top defensive players has recently paid a visit to campus. Larry Nixon, the second-leading tackler for North Texas during the 2022 season, visited Auburn on Thursday and is expected to stay until Friday according to a report by Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover. read more: https://auburnwire.usatoday.com/2023/05/12/auburn-football-north-texas-linebacker-larry-nixon-visits-transfer-portal-hugh-freeze/
  15. Happy Birthday @Harry
  16. This is mine from the other thread: Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Well I started out at Navarro junior college and flunked out and my parents made me come home and attend a community college where I finally got my act together and improved my GPA while working a part time job moving furniture. I heard about North Texas from a friend of my sister and figured I ought to give it a shot as I was running out of classes I could take towards my major at the community college. Anyhow, I ended up applying and getting accepted and the rest is history. I moved into West and stayed there until end of my junior year and moved to an apartment in cement city.
  17. Great interview JD. I really like this kid. I am a fan from day one of his career.
  18. One of the best receiving tight ends in college football last year for Arkansas State, Traore caught 50 passes for 655 yards and 4 TDs on the way to first-team all-conference honors. The 6-foot-4, 223-pound London native posted an 89.6 PFF receiving grade last season, which ranked fourth among tight ends and seventh among all FBS pass catchers. Traore currently ranks as the No. 8 overall available player in the 247Sports transfer rankings with a rating of 91. Since Traore reentered the transfer portal on April 30, he’s remained a popular name for schools in need of pass catching help. Traore has posted offers from Illinois, Oregon, Western Kentucky, Miami, Purdue, North Texas, Washington State and Arkansas read more: https://247sports.com/article/college-football-transfer-portal-seydou-traore-on-transferring-f-210064752/

  20. Really enjoy reading your posts on here and your honesty. Proud to have you as a fellow alum.
  21. Agree. I think with the right coach they could be powerhouses. I wonder if Tom Herman may not consider coming back.
  22. The guy is an alumnus of the University it appears and was involved in sports.
