  5. OKLAHOMA CITY – UNT softball assistant coach Jason Gwyn has been invited to be a coach at the U.S. Women’s Fast Pitch Camp on June 13-15 at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla. “I am excited for the invitation to Team USA training camp,” Gwyn said. “It will be a great opportunity to spend three days around some of the best players and coaches in the game.” The camp will be a showcase for 28 current and former NCAA student athletes prior to selections for the U.S. Women’s National Team. The list of invitees is highlighted by numerous all-American selections along with national player of the year winners Jocelyn Alo (Oklahoma) and Valerie Cagle (Clemson). USA Softball notes that the list of attendees is based on availability and subject to change. Alongside a group of six coaches, Gwyn will help lead the camp in positional drills and simulated games. Players will compete as the USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Committee watches on before it chooses two national-team rosters for competitions in Japan and Chile later this year. Gwyn was added to the USA Softball Women’s National Team coaching pool in March which makes him eligible to be selected as a coach for a U.S. Women’s National Team roster. Gwyn was hired by North Texas head coach Rodney DeLong on September 10, 2021, after most recently serving as the head coach at Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas.

  6. At first glance, the 2024 and ’25 Big Ten football schedules are a pure adrenaline rush of fresh excitement. Michigan playing USC in the L.A. Coliseum? UCLA coming to the Big House? Ohio State making a regular-season visit to the Rose Bowl? A division-less rotation of opponents that still preserves traditional rivalries? Cool. Fun. New. But let’s not forget the irrational foundation upon which this freshness is built. When it comes to the Los Angeles schools’ membership in the Big Ten, the geography still makes no sense. And the travel demands placed on the Trojans and Bruins will be a massive burden—in football and likely moreso in virtually every other sport. read more: https://www.si.com/college/2023/06/08/usc-ucla-big-ten-football-schedule-logistically-irrational

  12. Well they still have two remaining spots and so it could possibly happen. I think they need another shooter as well.
  13. I just want to state for the record and in perpetuity that I am 100% behind Eric Morris and this Mean Green football program. A fair amount of you guys seem to be on the fence. I think we should get behind him. The guy just oozes enthusiasm and he is exactly what we need at this time. There are no excuses or pity parties with Morris!
  14. I agree and I really think our fans are underestimating how good this conference really is. It is basically a P5 conference. They had one of the damn 4 playoff teams for goodness sake.

  17. The Texas Legislature has sent Senate Bill 17; which abolishes diversity, equity and inclusion offices in Texas public universities; to Gov. Greg Abbott. Once the governor signs the bill, Texas will be the second state to ban DEI offices, programs and trainings at publicly funded universities. Florida was the first state to banish equity and diversity offices. University of North Texas officials didn’t have much to say this week, despite the fact that the university system includes a Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access on its Denton campus. According to the division website, about 30 staff members currently work for the division. Leadership of the division didn’t respond to a request for an interview. “The University of North Texas System is currently reviewing all legislation passed during the 88th Texas Legislature and will continue to adhere to all state and federal laws,” Laken Avonne Rapier, UNT chief communications officer, said in a statement. UNT was one of the last Texas university systems to announce that it would pause new DEI programs, initiatives and training pending a full review of the system’s hiring policies.
