  1. I just don't think Coach Daniyal works is why they use Coach Danny.
  2. Why did he have to say that? Probably worried he would catch heat at his new employer. It is what it is.
  3. Jan 23, 2025 at 10:49pm via mobile Quote Post by Admin on Jan 23, 2025 at 10:49pm It’s crazy how fast we went from my post on December 5 thinking we would lose 25 games this year to people thinking Coach Robinson will get scooped up by a bigger program. What a difference 7 weeks makes. A good lesson for myself to never throw dirt on a season in early December. user1 and myself talked about it tonight. It’s definitely possible that a program in the Missouri Valley or Atlantic 10 could see that he successfully led CSU through 2 rebuilds in 3 years, won 21+ games each year and want to hire him. Of course, that assumes CSU finishes this year strong with a very difficult last 9 games of conference play. Jerrod Calhoun of YSU won 21, 24 and 19 games the 3 years before Utah State hired him, which is probably similar to the number Robinson will have after this year. If you’re Coach Robinson, if you get an offer from a Missouri Valley type conference team, I think you would seriously have to consider taking the job with all of the huge financial issues CSU is having. Obviously, the university won’t be committing any additional money to any athletic teams. He may have concerns that they may even slash his own budget for assistant coaches or recruiting. Robinson also knows that the college sports world is shifting to one where NIL or universities paying players directly will basically become a requirement to remain competitive, and he would rightly feel that CSU will never be able to offer that. If CSU finishes this season in the top 2 in the conference and we end with 20+ wins again, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Robinson took a new job. 4. Jan 20, 2025 at 2:24pm via mobile Quote Post by ede on Jan 20, 2025 at 2:24pm The good Cleveland State is making national news. The bad news Cleveland State is making national news. You better believe AD at P5 schools are watching if this win streak keeps up. Robinson will become a hot commodity in the off season. As well will our impressive freshman recruits. Just sayin. 5. Cross redid his deal with Troy so that ship had sailed. Jared did the best he could with the limited resources we have.
  6. I like what I see out of him but let's all be honest, a lot of what he will be able to do will depend on what the University is willing to cough up for NIL monies since they are taking that over in July. I do like his resume and he is certainly as qualified as you would expect. I also am interested to see what type of assistant pool he will have.
  7. STILLWATER — It appears Steve Lutz has filled the top assistant coaching position on his Oklahoma State basketball staff. Mississippi State assistant James Miller is headed to Stillwater to be Lutz’s associate head coach, according to a report Tuesday from 247Sports.com. The move comes just five days after Lutz was officially announced as the Cowboys’ new head man. Regarded as an emerging talent and a strong recruiter, Miller held the same position for Chris Jans at Mississippi State last season, which was Miller’s second with the Bulldogs. Prior to that, Miller was Jans’ associate head coach for four seasons at New Mexico State. Miller has also worked for current Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland in stops at Arkansas State and North Texas. Miller spent a season at Omaha, following a six-year stint at New Mexico Junior College — the last three as head coach. 8. Luncheon-gate was not his fault, however his response to luncheon-gate was. You can't just shrug your shoulders on such a monumental blunder like that and say, "well that's just not my department." What exactly did he try to do in response when SMU lost their NIT game and when did he do it? We need a FOIA on that or Vito needs to get off his ass and do his damn job.
  9. It's college decision season for high school seniors, but rising costs and shifting policies have changed the education landscape in recent years. At the University of North Texas, enrollment is on the rise, and staff say their success comes from a forward-thinking strategy focused on innovation and adaptability. At a time when colleges are more competitive than ever, UNT is growing fast. Staff believe it's due to their ability to evolve, ensuring students have access to resources and programs that prepare them for a constantly changing workforce. "It's really putting us on our toes and making us move as fast as we can to keep up with the market," said Brian Sauser, chair of UNT's supply chain management program. "Our education system is changing, and that's a challenge. But it's a fun challenge." In recent months, UNT has invested in programs like artificial intelligence and data science, aiming to give graduates an early edge in their careers. read more: https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/accepted-how-unts-innovation-strategy-is-fueling-enrollment-growth/

  10. Hodge will have no more money at WVA that Vanderbilt (SEC) does. Otherwise I agree with all you said.
  11. Cross had a reputation of being difficult at UTA. There is no way Jared is bringing a guy like that in. His next hire will be just like the last, a guy that McCasland, Wren, Hodge etc all approve and give their blessing to. Jared has to cover his bases in case he gets canned for a fallback VP AD job somewhere that pays well. Remember that the average lifespan of a D1 AD is only 7 years. RV was the exception at 15.
  12. I think years of it being so scripted and top players not participating got to me. Plus they don't even do real spring games anymore. I just honestly don't care about Spring football anymore and I sense I am not alone.
  13. One additional item, I sense that Jared is haggling with President Keller for total amount of AD NIL funding and then he is dealing with both men's football and basketball as to what the percentage is between them and that will be interesting to see where it lands. I hope they give basketball what it deserves.
  14. The answer to your first question is no, very few will be able to nut up the 20 million cap. There is a good interview with Jared I watched where he explained some of the new NIL laws going into effect July 1. Anyway, it sounds like we will have an advantage over some of the mid majors due to our size of enrollment and the ability to budget NIL expenses through the University and student fees etc which had not been available. So it appears our NIL budget will increase which is good but it will never be what they get in say the SEC or even Big 12 and smaller power conferences because they have much more revenue from the conferences they are in to work with.
  15. Some interesting names. Obviously would love to have Kennedy but Bob Huggins is an interesting name. He is old but has been very successful.
  16. Yeah Deck sortof messed that up but she is a great player and I hope she comes back.
  17. Typical UNT ladies got screwed on a bad call
  18. Deck is a beast with the early 3!
  19. they have two guards with 4 fouls
  20. Absolutely. And the Alamodome isn't the dump that @emmitt01 and others claim it to be.
