he Mean Green needed a post player after losing forward Deng Geu to graduation after last season. "North Texas was looking for a big man to round out its class," Osumane said. "I will fit in perfectly. They throw the ball inside. They talked to me a little about filling the role Geu had." UNT had some rebuilding to do after winning the Conference USA regular season title this season. Grant McCasland and his staff took the final steps in that process this week while picking up three players in three days. Osumane passed on offers from a host of nationally prominent programs to join UNT's class. Texas A&M and Georgetown were among 18 schools that offered Osumane a scholarship. So without spring football who in the hellfire is our QB going to be next season? I'll hang up and listen.

I hope you are right. He may be the best coach we have had. We need him to stay.

Is it just me or does it seem UNT is cursed in athletics? 10 years since we made the NCAA's and now we have a shot and it is cancelled due to an overhyped virus?

FRISCO - Conference USA will implement a restricted attendance procedure for the remainder of the 2020 Conference USA Basketball Championships at The Star after consultation with the NCAA, local authorities and related health and safety officials. All remaining games will be played with the official team party, student-athletes' family members, credentialed media, television and radio crews and essential personnel. The event will be closed to the general public. "While this news is disappointing for many in Mean Green Nation, the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches and fans is of highest priority," added Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker. Fans will be contacted in the near future regarding the refund process for ticket packages purchased through the UNT ticket office. Mean Green fans can tune in to watch quarterfinal action on Stadium Thursday, March 12, at 6 p.m. CT. The semifinals and championship game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. Mean Green games will also be broadcast on the radio on the Mean Green Sports Network and fans can follow along on all social media channels (@MeanGreenMBB on Twitter and Instagram and @MeanGreenBasketball on Facebook and @MeanGreenAthletics on all platforms).

The Favorites North Texas (20-11, 14-4): The Mean Green locked up their first-ever C-USA regular season title by beating Western Kentucky in an overtime thriller on March 1. That was the hallmark moment, but the title was fueled by a brutally-efficient offense that allowed UNT to go on a 12-1 league run between Jan. 4 and Feb. 15. The Mean Green lost their starting point guard to Gonzaga in the offseason, but added a star in JuCo transfer Javion Hamlet. Their deliberate, efficient offense has been a handful for league opposition all year, but UNT does come in on a slight down note, losing its regular season finale — and scoring just 43 points in doing so — at Charlotte. DENTON – The North Texas football program and Vice President/Director of Athletics Wren Baker announced Friday that the Mean Green have agreed to a home-and-home series with the University of Missouri. The Mean Green are scheduled to host the Tigers in Denton in 2030 and travel to Columbia, Missouri, in 2031. "I'm very pleased we were able to schedule a home-and-home series with Missouri," Baker said. "Upgrading the quality of our non-conference home schedule continues to be a focus point for us. I appreciate the work of Jared Mosley in helping assemble our future schedules as well. Scheduling is a time intensive exercise and Jared has done a great job of landing quality non-conference home-and-home series." These scheduled meetings will be the second and third for the Mean Green against Missouri. The Tigers knocked off the Mean Green 28-7 in 1995 in Columbia in the season-opener.
